Our experience with Kitchen and Bath Dimensions (aka Counter Dimensions) was fantastic. They went above and beyond, patiently talking us through buying appliances and generously sorting out our screwups. They worked closely with us at every turn, from decisions about design to decisions about implementation. They even helped us correct issues with a refrigerator that didn't quite work out. We have gotten many compliments on our kitchen, including from those who didn't see the horrible "before" situation. We have nothing but praise for Kitchen and Bath Dimensions. They are incredible!

Master bath remodel and laundry room
We engaged Counter Dimensions after a lot of research, as they were well reviewed for the type of remodel we planned. We needed to update our "90s" master bathroom, take out the shower walls for a more open (glass) concept and update the attached laundry space with additional storage.
The designer we worked with (Tracy ) helped us with the planning to realize our vision from the ideas and pictures we provided, but we were very surprised that she did not provide design ideas beyond the actual construction requirements. We were referred to vendors for the lighting, faucets etc. but she did not accompany us to the appointments, so we really felt on our own, and to be honest, somewhat overwhelmed (although it all worked out well!) We never had the impression that she could envision what we were working toward for the whole space, beyond the tile and cabinets. It felt more like a big box store experience than the "HGTV" experience we thought our budget would warrant.
The general contractor that was hired to do the work for counter dimensions did great work overall on the construction and tile work, the project experience itself was terrible. Some of the issues we experienced were:
*The all white cabinetry and tile floors were installed early in the project, but then not covered whilst the rest of the work was done. Obviously, they then got very dirty and scuffed (of course we understood it was a construction environment, but this was symptomatic of their apparent lack of attention to care or detail) It took us days after they left to get them clean
* There were two water leaks behind tile in shower, after the new plumbing was put in. Luckily they were able reach the pipes through a garage wall, but we had to insist the designer brought in a professional plumber, as each time we reported it to them we were met with skepticism!
* The shower floor was initially so badly installed that it had to be completely dug out and redone. We had pointed out the problems days before, and were reassured by the contractor, and the designer, that once the tile was grouted "it would be fine", even though it was obviously not going to be.
* Our Brizo fixtures were taken out of their boxes and left mixed in with the tools and construction, so several were so damaged they had to be replaced. Additionally, we really got the feeling the Team had not worked with these type of high end fixtures (one piece was installed upside down, twice! and they all had issues which required the plumber to come back and resolve)
* The brand new washer and dryer got badly damaged being moved back and forth from the laundry room (The Counter Dimensions Owner did replace them without question)
* One of the key changes we wanted was to remove the wallpaper (the space was fully wallpapered). The contractor insisted that they would have to paint over it, as it could not be removed "without damaging the walls" (even though this was a line item in the contract). They tried three times to paint and fix the peeling paper, with the designer reassuring us each time, until we demanded that the Owner come and look at it. She immediately agreed it was appalling and instructed them to remove it. It only took them a day and actually looked great when it was done!
* The French doors took nine weeks to arrive, and the contractors had already started another project, so the Team had to rush installing them. They were installed well, but were very stiff to open and close (they apparently did not have time to adjust them as they had to leave before the paint was dry!) It took us a full day of adjusting and planning to make them fit properly
Given the scope of the project we had moved everything out of the master bedroom, so there would be space for the Team to stage and work. We expected to be out for the estimated three weeks ("maybe four"), but it eventually took a very frustrating ten weeks. In the end we just paid the invoice and completed the punch list ourselves (with our own plumber), as it was getting unproductive trying to get the designer to act on the remaining issues.
Whilst our project was very frustrating, we did end up with the bath remodel we wanted. It was just not the experience we had expected from Counter Dimensions.

Counter Dimensions did a total kitchen remodel for us and we are extremely happy with the result! It's exactly what we wanted, with some special touches that make it even better than we expected! From the day we went to the showroom to pick out materials and talk ideas, to the plans, and through the whole installation process, everyone we encountered was knowledgeable and helpful. I felt free to ask a lot of questions and get timely responses. Our designer Susan knew not only what would look great, but what would be functional for our family. I had recently had a new baby, and didn't have a lot of time or brain power to make decisions, but I able to trust her to help choose what would look the best in our home.
The installation process went as smoothly as possible. We were living in our house while the work was being done, but it was finished in a timely manner which was much appreciated. Our installer was very friendly and professional, and we enjoyed having him here. His work was impeccable and the kitchen looks amazing!
As far as the details of our kitchen, we got custom cabinets and drawers, granite countertops, backsplash, beautiful molding, drawer for trash can, and a new sink. We get compliments all the time on the backsplash and granite! One of my favorite things about the kitchen is having two glass doors on the cabinets on either side of the range. I've displayed some of my favorite pottery pieces and I love being able to see them every day! We also love the layout Susan designed. It's really functional, and we love having a place for everything!
Having your kitchen remodeled is no small task, but it makes a huge difference when the people you are working with, and who are in your home, are great at what they do and care about the work. Everyone took great pride in their work and wanted it to look as good as it possibly could for us to enjoy, and we really appreciated that! Our kitchen has been finished for months, but we still find ourselves stopping to admire it! It's probably our favorite room in the house! We are so pleased we had it done, and thankful for the folks at Counter Dimensions!

Lee Welden, member of the NKBA, provided advice and assistance, and Counter Dimensions built a custom cabinet to fit the unusually shaped sink in my bathroom remodel. She also sourced excellent deals for me on a rimless glass shower wall and door, and pointed me to other firms that I worked with. She is a talented designer and a problem solver by nature. I would recommend her and her company to anyone doing a remodel.

Counter Dimensions designed and installed our kitchen, family room, and laundry room cabinetry including granite countertops and tile backsplash. Sandra was always professional and a pleasure to work with. Her calm approach was certainly needed since we did a complete main-floor remodel. We wanted the kitchen to have a more open feel so we relocated some of the appliances. This meant reducing pantry space which I was nervous about, but, Sandra and her team made it work and found extra space in ways I never dreamed. During the design process in the family room, Mike, Sandra's husband, gave valuable advice on the stone wall we installed around the fireplace. I love the fact he wasn't afraid to speak up and give his insight so the area would turn out to be what we envisioned! David, Counter Dimensions installer, was exceptionally knowledgeable and paid attention to every detail. Sandra and her team worked extremely well with Rick Nelson, our General Contractor, to make our vision a reality!

My house was built in 1996 and it was time to update my kitchen. I enjoy cooking and the original layout of the kitchen was one that I didn’t want to change. As I worked with an Interior Designer, we finalized the scope of changes for my kitchen. It entailed replacing the tile backsplashes, granite counter tops, changing the look of the cabinets, new appliances and removing the old wall paper and painting the kitchen with a color that would flow into the other rooms of the home.
As I investigated into changing the looks of the cabinets, I considered repainting the existing cabinets, purchasing new ones, or re-facing the existing cabinets. Painting the original cabinet fronts and drawers did not change the style of the look; I was still the 90’s. Not being familiar with re-facing existing cabinets, it didn’t take long to realize the cost savings when re-facing. I was skeptical of the process and the final looks. After visiting Counter Dimensions Shop and meeting Tracy Hall, in Pelham, AL, I looking first hand of the process of re-facing, I confirmed to myself that this was a viable approach. I do have Architectural background. The explanation of the re-facing was straight forward by Tracy and very easy to see the process on the panel board they have in the Counter Dimensions Shop. I noticed they also did tile work and made an inquiry into their experience with tile. I walked away knowing my decision, but I wanted to sleep on it. A day or two later, I contracted with Counter Dimensions to re-face my existing cabinets, replace my cabinet doors and drawer fronts, provide some detailed panels for the sides of the cabinets, remove existing time and install the new tile. They also did the plumbing disconnect and reconnects from work performed by others.
Counter Dimensions showed up as scheduled, and removed the existing tile and back board prior to the removal and installation of the new granite being removed/installed by others. Counter Dimensions worked closely with the granite company and by the time the tile was removed, the granite company showed up to remove/install the granite and sink. Counter Dimensions then went back to work, installing new backboards for the new tile, connected the plumbing back and began the re-facing the cabinets. During this time, my new appliances were delivered and installed during the same time Counter Dimensions was working. They were very accommodating with and to the other companies.
My schedule was to have a kitchen that I could cook in by Thanksgiving. It was completed in time to allow me to put the kitchen back in order (dishes, pots and pans, etc). To give them a guarantee that they would meet schedule, the installation person came on a Saturday to make sure that the job was done. Dedication I say! The day wasn’t needed.
Workmanship and quality is number one for Counter Dimensions. They take their time with the installation. This is not a rushed job. It was about five days for the tile and re-facing work. It was very difficult to find flaws in the work.
Job site cleanliness is important as well as safety to me. The kitchen was never cluttered where someone could trip and get hurt. They cleaned up as they went and at the end of each day, the kitchen was spotless. Construction dust was at a minimal during this time in the rest of the house. There is just now way around it, I say this to those who have never done a remodel of a home. This is my fourth.
Their estimate at the beginning and what I paid were the same. I believe whole heartily that my choice to re-face was and is the best choice. I’m so lucky to have found Counter Dimensions!
Please, give Tracy Hall and Counter Dimensions a chance to re-make your kitchen!

Counter Dimensions worked with us on our kitchen, which was cramped, built with old, cheap cabinets, and featured nasty linoleum floors and dilapidated appliances. One of their designers came to our house, took measurements, and had several design options ready for us to review in a matter of a just few days. Based on their recommendations, we chose to knock down a few walls, completely rearrange the layout, and install beautiful cabinets and granite countertops. The team at Counter Dimensions was extremely professional and delivered on time, as promised. We highly recommend them for any kitchen remodel and could not be happier with how ours turned out!!

Susan McGee and I began working together in March on a kitchen re-do. The plans she helped us design were great and then we decided to move instead of gutting our kitchen. I immediately brought her and her contractor, Steve Grigsby, to the new house to start from scratch on a kitchen design and she was eager to help. We finally started the new kitchen in August and things went so smoothly. Susan has been easy to work with through out all of the changes I kept making and the indecisiveness on my part. We were able to keep to our schedule and all work was done on time and to my liking. I never felt insecure in my lack of design knowledge as I worked with Susan. In fact, over time, I gained more confidence by working with her. All of the subs that Susan works with were friendly, clean, honest, and sometimes a lot of fun to have around! I would highly recommend Susan McGee and Counter Dimensions.

We worked with Lee Welden at Counter Dimensions on totally gutting and renovating our severely dated kitchen. Lee is very laid back, good at giving guidance, and excellent at allowing clients with "ideas," like me, to incorporate those ideas within the design. She strikes a fine balance between letting clients use their own design elements while still giving extremely valuable input and guiding the overall design of the project. She communicated with us the whole time the project was being built and stayed on top of ordering the cabinets, making sure the measurements were right, making sure the finishes were right, and getting the exact outcome we wanted.
I couldn't be happier with the way the kitchen turned out. Lee and Steve Grigsby, my general contractor (Grigsby Construction), worked extremely well together and created a finished project that my husband and I are over the moon about. I definitely recommend Lee and Counter Dimensions.
