CDSM Construction & Development Services Madison

Scott at CDSM was great to work with. It was nice to be able to have our ideas listened to and also be able to get honest feedback when we strayed a little too far from reality. Our bathroom now functions so much better and feels exponentially larger and brighter despite not adding any square footage or windows. Scott was ever present throughout the process, and it was easy for us to make the decisions and let him make sure boxes got checked.

We were selling our home and had a list of things to do from the inspection report before we could close on the house. We utilized CDSM to find contractors and oversee the repairs we needed to get done. It was extremely helpful to have someone who could write up what needed to be done and find people who were available to complete the work on our schedule. So glad to have something this big taken off our plate during the stressful moving process.

We had our basement redone last year. It was half finished by a previous owner and had questionable workmanship on what had been done. We decided to gut most of it after our first design consultation. Subsequent design sessions with CDSM saw our dream of a basement that functioned for the kids and adults really took shape. We were able to take our ideas from Pinterest and have them translated into the basement we have now. They were able to direct us to materials that would be more durable yet work with the aesthetic we were looking to achieve. We went not once, twice but three times to the home stores around Madison. I really appreciate patience and good listening in a designer and we got that. Construction worked out well. We were limiting in some times available to work to be completed due to family events occurring but they were able to work around those for us. Start to finish it was about a 4 month endeavor. I loved it and will us again when I redo my master bath.

CDSM was recommended to me by a colleague who was pleased with how their basement remodel turned out and the flow in which the project played out. Scott designed a new master bath and closet area for us. The current set up was inefficient with space and in desperate need of an upgrade. Scott made sure we stayed within our budget but still gave us everything we wanted...not an easy task. I think by being integrally involved with the design process we were able to more easily make budget decisions that didn't hurt when the time came to scale back to make the budget work. We had a minor hiccup in the construction due to some outdated piping in the walls but the guys Scott had on the job were able to minimize delays. Always in contact with us he was and always available. One regret...I wish I had not taken out the radiant heating floor.

We used CDSM to redo our outdated kitchen and open it up to the rest of the house. Scott is pretty creative and can see things I couldn't. He has an amazing ability to re-imagine a space’s potential and be able to communicate those ideas through 3D modeling. I really appreciated how he first got to know how we currently use the space and envision using it after the remodel. It helped that Scott was an avid cook and understood what it was like to move and work in a kitchen. The construction process was smooth and it was huge how he helped us to plan out how we would survive without a full kitchen. We set up a mini situation in our downstairs, ate out at times, and changed what we consumed. It helped that they minimized the amount of time we were without use of our kitchen. Communication was always available (including me texting at 8 or 9 at night) and dealing with just one main person made the process feel so much more controlled. The kitchen they created is absolutely beautiful, way more functional for our needs bright and updated, AND they left our house clean (maybe cleaner than I originally had it ;). We will use again.
