As a kitchen and bath design specialist (AKBD), I don't just simply design spaces for my customers. Instead, I guide them through the entire process of a new build/remodel starting from the initial discovery phase, all the way to the projects conclusion. It is my job not only to provide both a creative element and logistics, but also be the biggest source of confidence for you as you navigate this process. Our Process Step One: Home visit Complimentary 1 hour home visit (online during COVID). This is where we get to know one another. I learn about your project, potentially help you figure out exactly what it is that you are looking to accomplish. Step Two: Scope of Work This is where we begin to define the project. I use my expertise to help navigate you through defining certain fundamental concepts and how they fit into your project requirements (budget, timeline, etc.). These concepts are used to lay the groundwork for any design concepts moving forwards Step Three: Design Concepts I take the "scope of work" that was previously discussed and create several different designs. These designs are not meant to be incredibly specific, but instead convey different "concepts" for us to move forward with (color pallets, material schemes, general layouts). I take these designs and receive your feedback. Step Four: Finalizing Design We spend the day finalizing different materials, appliances and finishes. This allows for us to determine a project schedule and formalized budget. This is the phase where we put into your hands all the information and plans needed for you to feel incredibly confident in the end product of your project. Step Five: Construction/Management Dependent on each individual customers project scope, the role I play in this phase can be different. Regardless of whether or not you would like for me to play a management/advisory role with contractors, I maintain a presence that ensures the final product remains true to our original design intentions. ****Something that is important to us is that our customers feel confident and comfortable with us. The truth is that some designer-customer relationships are a better fit than others. It’s actually an important thing to consider in our opinion. Recognizing this we purposefully structure our contract to allow each party involved to build confidence and not be over committed to any initial contract.
