E S Johnson built our custom home and we were thrilled with how everything turned out. I am writing this six months after we closed on the house and couldn’t be happier with the quality of the work. This was our first custom house build and I had always heard two things about building a home 1. that it would be a stressful process that would try your patience and test your marriage and 2. invest the time up front to pick the right builder. I am happy to say that we picked the right builder and didn’t experience anything like the first point. Eric and his team guided us through the entire build and were fabulous. Bray’s use of colors and textures made our house look like it came right out of the pages of Southern Living and Garden & Gun! Margie kept all our change orders straight and Charlie made it all happen out on the job site. My husband and I built a custom home with E.S. Johnson Builders in 2015. The experience was devastating both financially and emotionally for our family. During construction, we raised some concerns related to a variety of serious design flaws and poorly installed products. The majority of these issues were not addressed, the builder denied requests to meet to discuss and he locked us out of our home. We never received a move-in date, even after waiting two weeks after the Certificate of Occupancy had been issued. Eventually, we had to hire a locksmith and break into our own home. E.S. Johnson Builders then sued us for payment for work they never completed. We spent a full year and an incredible amount of money for legal representation to defend ourselves in arbitration. In the end, we won back the money to complete the unfinished and faulty work in our home, but there is no reimbursement for the pain, the hundreds of hours lost and the legal fees we incurred.

We hired ES Johnson Builders to build our lake home. We were looking for someone who could build a custom home that would give us an open floor plan and plenty of windows to enjoy our lake views. Our home is well built and the finishes are what you would find in a custom built home. Eric Johnson understood what we were looking for and helped us design our dream home. We would highly recommend him to anyone who is building a home in our area.

We were looking to build our first house in 2013, and started the process of meeting with as many builders as we could. After a few weeks, we thought maybe we should just buy something already built, as many of our meetings were a big let down. When we met with Eric, on a referral from our agent, we walked out of the first meeting knowing that this was exactly who we would be building with. Eric not only has a passion for building homes, and a taste for style, but his knowledge of everything in between was extremely impressive. He knew our budget, got to quickly understand our style, and built us the perfect coastal home with all the high-end finishes we could have ever expected. 2.5 years later we sold our home in under a week, and are finalizing plans to build with Eric again. We are excited to have Eric get creative on our custom farmhouse and look forward to working with his team again.

When my wife and I first met with Eric and described all of the elements we wanted in our dream home we thought that it would be a stretch for any builder to pull it off for us. Then we received our plans back for review and we were amazed at how Eric turned our conversation and our vision into EXACTLY what we described to him. The entire team was FANTASTIC and we feel very lucky to have chosen ES Johnson and could not be happier with the results.

Eric Johnson is a quality builder who is passionate about his homes. We could see that passion the first time we met him and he walked us through the details of the Build For the Cure home that we decided to purchase. While the house was already built when we found it, it meets our style to a tee. After interviewing several custom builders, we spoke with Eric Johnson and instantly connected with him on our appreciation of coastal design. As a design/builder, E.S. Johnson made the entire process seamless from design, through architectural planning, through the build. Eric quoted us one price for our home (which included allowances) and delivered the agreed product at that price. We did choose to make a few changes along the way, and were easily able to conduct a change order for each. After 9-10 months of waiting, we moved into our dream home. A year and a half later, we are still very satisfied with the final product. E.S. Johnson delivered the exact product that we agreed on with no hassles or surprises. When you work with E.S. Johnson as your custom builder, you can be assured that you will receive the level of trim and finish throughout the house that would be expected of a high-end custom home. Although we were on the lookout for corner-cutting, it turned out to be unnecessary, as E.S. Johnson is committed to delivering a quality product. All of our punch-list items were taken care of in a timely manner, as well as our 1-year warranty items. We couldn't be happier with our house.
