When my wife and I located the subdivision that we wanted to build our dream home in and realized that the builder that owned the lot was Kurk Homes we were extremely excited to have them build our home based on their reputation, warranty and quality they represented. My wife and I can honestly say they never disappointed us. Their advertisement is spot on when they state that "at Kurk Homes it is all about you". Chris and Melanie and their entire staff was always extremely helpful and answered each and every question my wife and I had. Through the entire process of finalizing the home plans, starting construction and helping us manage each and every detail we wanted in the home their construction superintendent - Oscar Macal, Melanie and Chris were always there to answer questions and provide recommendations and support. Kurk Homes does builds a quality product and the finished home is exactly what we had envisioned. My wife and I couldn't be happier.

My husband and I chose Kurk Homes out of the many builders that we interviewed because of their build quality and their dedication to customer service. We are in the midst of building our forever home and we couldn’t be more excited to see our finished product. Melanie and Chris have worked with us though various stages of the build, they are the heart and sole of Kurk Homes. Paul was forthcoming in the initial sales process and assisted us through the design and finalization of the house plans. A shout out to Steven who was so very patient while working with us through the actual design of the house and the many, many changes that it went through to arrive at the final product. Even though the build got off to a rough start due to the complexity of our lot, Lorenzo has been an amazing asset to our build. He is the boots on the ground of the project and makes sure that everyone and everything is happening when it should happen and coordinating all the chaos that happens around the build. He always has a smile and is ready to help any time. My husband and I couldn’t be more impressed with the build quality of our home. Chris and his team have ensured that our home will stand the test of time by employing the highest level of construction practices and employees. This review is long overdue, but at almost three years being in our home we can say with confidence working with Kurk Homes was pleasurable and our home construction is 100% solid. Kurk Homes built a custom home for us in the Hill Country. The communication was great from the beginning and remained constant throughout the build process. Our original construction manager, Larry, not only sent weekly updates via email, but also called with questions and to identify any concerns. At the time, we were living in Houston so we did not have the opportunity to visit the build site on a frequent basis. Knowing Larry was here almost daily helped us feel comfortable. There were some glitches along the way, which we knew would happen. However, we either accepted them or Larry was able to propose a solution before executing. Our move-in date was July 2020, so right in the middle of the covid ordeal. However, Kurk Homes came through and delivered on time, which wasn't easy given subcontractors were out sick, or our selected appliances were not available causing us to make last minute changes. After Larry departed, Cole took over as the construction manager. Immediately, we could tell he paid as much attention to detail as Larry. During our one year walk-through of the home, we explained we did not have many nail pops or cracks. Cole was equally impressed by this, particularly noting the second floor is usually where more settling will occur. Additionally, we have concrete floors and they have held up very well - only the original small settling cracks which have not grown. After the one year, a few small things came up. Cole was able to find time to stop by and lend a hand. And more recently, the cooling unit in our wine cellar stopped working. The company that installed it would not work on it, and we could not find anyone else willing to take a look. We contacted Cole and he was able to located a small company who came out and corrected the problem. We feel like Kurk Homes did not abandon us after we moved into the home. Quite the opposite. This is likely our last home to build. However, we would certainly hire Kurk Homes again. Their entire team is great. Definitely recommend Kurk Homes!

We had a great experience with Brian Anderson of Kurk Homes. Cant say enough about his customer service acumen. it’s not often you see this kind of work ethic and customer focus. He made the process of building a house easier. Good job!!!!

We ae finally in our beautiful Kurk home. The Kurk team had to endure covid restrictions, supply issues, rising material prices and bad weather conditions that lasted for months. In spite of all of these adversities the Kurk Team was professional, keeping me informed at every step and doing their best to build our dream home as swiftly and safely as possible. When I signed up with Chris McGinley one of the main things I told him was I know there will be issues and challenges but that is not what mattered. Its the intent and the actions of the team that I look at and how they resolve these issues. I can honestly say we had to overcome more than normal, but that was the sign of the times for the past couple of years. The building team led by Peter Langcamp and his assistances Byan Anderson and Richard followed the project diligently on a weekly basis and kept me informed step by step of what was happening and even if there were delays they informed me as to what did happen. Communication was the key and and they delivered. The professionalism which the team showed was evident everywhere, The Design team of the house led by Drew Evans who spent hours with me on the design of the house. Kim Provost who helped us with our selections and kept detailed records for our selection was great. The ledgers led by Lisa and Shelby kept my changes and added change orders correct and accurate. They accepted change orders throughout the process and gave me ideas on them. The initial building options were very good but customizing happens when you are building your dream home. It is very hard to stick to a budget and selection (especially if you are married), but building custom homes is what Kurk homes does to please their customers. Also Chris and Melanie are in the back ground making sure everything is going as smoothly as possible. I can't thank the Kurk team enough and if you want a quality house with professional who deliver Kurk is your builder

Kurk Homes built our perfect retirement home in the "Majestic Hills" of Blanco, Texas. Building the house during the pandemic was challenging to say the least. With our construction manager Cole Madigan's "can do" attitude, the house was completed in the Spring of 2022. The home is very energy efficient and meets our needs perfectly.

We cannot say enough about our experience with Kurk Homes. From working with Ryan in the beginning stages to Drew (design), Lisa (exteriors), Jeffrey (interiors), and ultimately Kyle (contractor), we had such a wonderful experience. Everyone went above and beyond, but especially our contractor Kyle. Though we built outside of a small town away from civilization, Kyle was at our house location more days than not and gave us all of the attention we needed. A text or phone call was always answered quickly and our weekly email update was the highlight of our week. Even when there were delays due to supply chain issues, we were kept informed and encouraged through the whole process. And when there was an issue with our rental house and had to move out quicker than expected, Kyle pulled out all the stops to help us move into our beautiful new home in time. When we were looking for a custom home builder, we searched for a Southern Living Home certified builder for our SL floor plan. Kurk was one of the few SL certified builders around and they didn't disappoint with their high quality work and standards. Their standards for structure, energy efficiency (Energy Star certified), cabinetry, crown molding and large baseboards, granite, tile, plumbing fixtures, etc were outstanding and considered upgrades with most other builders. In short, we are very pleased with our new home built by Kurk Homes and would certainly recommend giving them a chance to build your custom home.

We recently had a custom home built for us by Kurk Homes. While our house building took far longer than expected & there were some glitches along the way, Zach Patterson was a great help throughout the process. He updated us each week on what was being done, he worked with the contractors to keep them on schedule and he went out of his way to do extra things for us so that the process would be as smooth as possible! Having Zach Patterson involved in our building process made all the difference in the world!! Also never having gone through the process of selecting floors, countertops, cabinets, room colors etc, the procedure would have been totally overwhelming without the help of Kim Provost. Kim was very accommodating every step of the way. Not only was Kim extremely helpful at the initial meeting but she was available to us many many more times either in person, via text or email. At each meeting, Kim was appreciative of our taste, knowledgeable of design & colors and used her extensive experience to guide us through the entire selection process. Having Kim Provost involved in our building process made all the difference in the world!! Thank you Zach & Kim for all your help & expertise!

Our house was completed this month June 2022. Kurk Homes started building in October of 2021. The process may seem long but I have learned a lot and realized that Kurk Homes made sure that all boxes were checked with inspections. Every T and I were crossed and dotted. Our construction manager and builder, Lorenzo, is the best part of Kurk Homes. His communication skills are top notch. He brings suggestions, listens to our thoughts, and is able to keep us on budget. It is very obvious that he is respected among the sun-contractors and the owners of Kurk Homes. Looking forward to our next project.

We moved from The Woodlands to New Braunfels and selected Kurk Homes to build our custom home based on our visits to their model home in Huntsville and our interactions with Melanie and staff at their home office in Magnolia. Paul, the Hill Country sales manager gave us solid advice in our selections and upgrades and was clear and concise in explaining what to expect during the build process, how long the build should take and how any changes we wanted to make during the building process would be handled. Stephen then took the pictures, sketches, crude drawings, etc. that we provided him with and, through back-and-forth communication, was able to create construction drawings that met all of our requirements. Not a small task in light of the current situation where face to face communication can be limited! The construction manager for our build was Lorenzo and we feel truly blessed that he was in charge of building our home. Lorenzo is a terrific communicator, is wise beyond his years in construction details and is well respected among all of the sub-contractors on our project. He provided us a weekly update detailing the work that had taken place and the work that was scheduled which was very beneficial in keeping us appraised of where we were in regards to our build schedule. Outstanding job! Overall, we are very pleased that we selected Kurk Homes to build our dream home and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to build a custom home.

Kurks have complete our house in practically 6 months . They didn’t cut any corners or rush us. We highly recommend .Paul is great contact and Lorenzo great construction manager . They are very responsive . We’re first time home owners and I probably ask some silly questions at times but Lorenzo has been so responsive . Will update pictures once we get in and finish landscaping etc . Kurks are top tier . Recommend

Kurk homes took our sketch of a dream to our dream home. From our first encounter with Paul we appreciated his honestly and quick communication style. The sales process can feel very pushy. He never pressured us and explained things very clearly. Steven then took what we articulated and sketched up and created a beautiful design for us. We have heard many horror stories about construction, but we were absolutely blessed when it came to Lorenzo. He is an amazing communicator with great attention to detail. Building can be incredibly stressful, but from setting our expectations during each phase and answering our many questions, we always felt confident that our build was in the best hands. Kurk homes is a great builder filled with great people who genuinely care how your home comes together from the tiniest nail to the finished product. You can see they truly love to build quality homes.

Peter Langkamp and Zach Patterson with Kurk Homes are phenomenal. I have been in my home about 2.5 years and they will still quickly respond to e-mails regarding any question I have and advise me or come out and assist me. Our automatic pantry light went out and within a day Zach was out here replacing it. Service and care have been wonderful even 2.5 years after when most companies would just say too bad your past your warranty. Not Kurk homes and not Zach and Peter they are awesome and I would love to build with them again. Maybe a vacation home in the hill country. lol Blessings ya'll!

We recently moved to our completed custom home built in Bender Landing by Kurk Homes. My wife and I are really pleased with the overall quality of our custom home. The building process was managed by Peter Langkamp, Kurk Homes Construction Manager in a professional manner. Even through the Covid Pandemic during 2020 which was a very tough time to build, Peter was able to guide the home construction with all of the crafts/contractors in a high quality, safe, timely and with great workmanship. He has an excellent knowledge of good building practices and local building codes. The follow-up with us during the construction process was superb. We would take frequent tours with Peter to ensure we were satisfied with the design and final finishes. Warranty issues during our first year have been taken care of promptly. Again, just an overall wonderful experience building our forever home with Kurk Homes.

On behalf of my wife and myself, we had a terrific experience building our home together with the team from Kurk Homes. From the very beginning, we got off to a great start with Paul Deutsch, who helped us with the initial stages of planning, budgeting, expectations & timing. He stayed connected with us throughout the process, and was a steadying influence whenever things got complicated or unclear, which will inevitably happen along the way. We were then introduced to Steven Byrne, the architect. Steven was patient and very helpful, listening to all of our questions and ideas, while giving us real-time and real-world solutions that worked within our budget. He was fantastic to work with, and delivered the beautiful house (on paper!) we'd long dreamed of. At last we were ready to go to work and we were then introduced to our Construction Manager, Lorenzo Pirritano. This is the guy - the project boss - who can make or break not only the build, but the experience as well. Lucky for us, we got Lorenzo. There really isn't time to explain how big a part Lorenzo played in our lives over the 10 or so months of the build. Lorenzo is smart, capable, flexible, dependable, and was a staunch advocate for us throughout the build. He always held his contractors to account for quality. There a million decisions that go into a house build, and some things you just don't think of until it's time to think of them. In these moments, Lorenzo is in your corner to help you make a good choice. It is hard to go through a build and spend a bunch of money; it is emotional, tiring, and a marathon. To come out the other end as friends, which we are with Lorenzo, is a testament to the commitment he and Kurk Homes made to building us our dream home. We also need to give our strongest endorsement to Cole Madigan, who came on to our project to assist Lorenzo, who was managing multiple builds in various stages. Cole is another fine project manager with a craftsman's eye for detail. Anyone who gets either of these guys as their Construction Manager will be in very capable and trustworthy hands. Lastly, we want to thank the McGinley family, who own and operate Kurk Homes. They were terrific to us. We were fortunate to spend some time with Chris McGinley throughout the process. He shows an owner's pride AND accountability for fulfilling the promise - a tough one - to bring your dream home to life. Thanks to everyone at Kurk Homes!

My Husband and I have built 4 times. This experience was the best. Kurk Homes cares to make us happy with our home. Things will happen that may be go as planned. That always happens, but how a Company responds to the situation to repair it is the character of them. We have always felt that Kirk Homes worked with us to make it right and want us to be happy. After months of researching those who build in the Texas hill country, we decided on Kurk Homes with the help of Paul in the New Braunfels office. One thing we observed from the start was the involvement and professionalism of co-owner, Chris McGinley. Along with other prospective clients, we were able meet him at one of his “Hard Hat Home Tours” where we saw the quality being built into that home. After signing a contract, Lisa, the pre-construction coordinator, provided a written list of initial steps which was quite helpful. Once activity started at the site, the Construction Manager, Larry, emailed an update every weekend detailing that week’s progress. Upon Larry’s retirement, Lorenzo took the role of Construction Manager, and continued the updates. Someone was always available to answer questions and provide help in a timely manner. We saw Lorenzo overcome many challenges toward the end of the project, always with a smile (behind his mask!), a helpful solution, and willing support from Cole. It is obvious that the McGinley family has taken care to hire staff with an extremely positive attitude and high degree of competence. We received the keys to our home two days ago, and it has turned out to be all that we hoped for.

We have had excellent dealings with Kurk Homes. From selecting a home to their professionalism in dealing with minor warranty issues, the builders have expressed much kindness and pride in their work. We are extremely satisfied having worked with this builder.

We love our new Kurk Home! Working with Kurk was such a pleasure. We enjoyed working with everyone involved on the project. Our salesman Paul made the buying process easy. Steven made our changes to the plans until we got just what we wanted. Lisa was a great help in picking the exterior finishes. Shelby and Tammy handled the change orders and draws very professionally. Our Construction Manager Lorenzo was great. Whenever there was an issue (and there weren’t many) he was on it. He handled the different trades very well. He made sure there was always someone working on our house and it was completed a month early. I would recommend Kurk and Lorenzo to anyone!

We just closed on our DREAM - RETIREMENT home! Through the unction of the holy spirit who lead us to this wonderful christian base company we can say a job well done. Ryan was the first team member that we met with. He worked with out schedule ( traveled from San Antonio to Houston area). He captured our ideal floor plan vision and helped us to stay within our set budget. Kim(interior) and Lisa(exterior), oh man, they were awesome in showing us how to combine the colors, textures, fixtures, etc. Mark our construction manager, WOW! He often consulted with us via phone, email, text about how things were progressing. As that we lived out of town, he often sent pictures of what had transpired during the week. No matter what questions were asked, Mark always answered. The most outstanding picture was when the concrete was being poured at 6am. The included pictures are before the completion date.

We’ve been in our new Kurk home for about four months now! And the quality of our house continues to amaze us! After we saw the Kurk model in New Braunfels we were so impressed with the details plus the insulation and quality windows. It was very hot when we went and we couldn’t feel any heat right up to the windows! Right now it’s very hot and we set our a/c very conservatively and we stay perfectly cool! And we couldn’t have made it without the invaluable help of Lorenzo Pirritano who managed the entire build from beginning to end! What impressed me at the beginning was a weekly update from him as the work that had been done with all the details, as well as what was going to be done the following week. The bonus updates were many pictures that he sent us! He really went above and beyond for us! When we’ve had people making deliveries, they comment how impressed they are of our house! We are so proud of our new house and couldn’t be happier with our decision to choose Kurk Homes!

We researched homebuilders for six months before deciding on Kurk Homes. The repeated answer we got from past clients and referrals is that they “don’t take short cuts”. The 2 x 6 exterior wall studs is an example of not taking short cuts and after living in our home for a few months and noticing the HVAC efficiency, interior/exterior doors, trim work and electrical and plumbing installations we have to agree. Kurk Homes Builds Exceptional Quality Beautiful Home……... Working with Kurk homes was effortless. The entire process was a pleasure. We had a budget that we needed to stay within. From the beginning working with Chris and Melanie, they continually came up with ideas that saved on the bottom line. Our new home turned out to be the “Dream Home” we imagined. Kim at the design center was incredibly helpful. She, again, kept our budget in mind while presenting beautiful design ideas. When things got rolling, Lisa was so prompt in getting all the permits and contracts in place. Once the construction began Mark was awesome. He communicated with us whenever it was necessary. Since our entire house was built, while we lived out of town, we looked so forward to weekly emails that most of the time included pictures. Whenever he thought a small change would be an improvement, he ran the suggestion by us and happily made the change. Mark gave us a timeline for the house to be completed. We met with several other builders before we sat down with Chris and Melanie at the Kurk model home. We were impressed with their character and integrity. They were very transparent about costs and made the process easy to understand unlike some of the other builders we had met. From plans to the design phase to the finished home it was an enjoyable experience as building a home should be. Ben, our builder, kept us informed weekly, resolved any concern or question we had and kept things going smoothly. We ended up with a home that reflects our own personal style because of the attention of the whole Kurk Homes team to the details we wanted. We made the right choice.

The quality of their work is very good. We have lived in our house for one year now and are very happy with it. They are very flexible at accommodating changes and they make an extra effort to make you satisfied with the home. The people are pleasant to work with and help to identify consequences of the many choices you have to make when build a new custom home.

SPECIAL THANKS TO KURK HOMES AND TO ELI AND BEN Our home on Lake Livingston was completed by Kurk Homes back in 2011. We chose Kurk Homes as our contractor mainly because of their high quality standards and because of the close oversight and the customer communication that they provide during the construction process. We could not have been happier with the outcome. It’s now been a number of years since our house was completed but special mention should be made about the generous customer service that Kurk Homes continues to provide. We had an attempted robbery recently that resulted in damage to our window frames. Fortunately, Kurk Homes is constructing a new house in our Subdivision and Kurk’s construction supervisor, Ben, was nice enough to deliver some matching touch up paint so that we could hide the scratches. We are very thankful to Ben and to Kurk Homes for their kind consideration. Eli, who is a warranty specialist for Kurk Homes, also provided some much appreciated post-warranty help. He arranged for the masonry crew from his new home construction down the street to re-point some settlement cracks in the mortar on our stone garage. We very much appreciate Eli’s efforts and also his customer service skills which are perfect for the job he has with Kurk Homes. We are very happy that our house was built by Kurk Homes and we continue to hold their company in very high regard. We’ve proudly shown our house to prospects in our neighborhood and we continue to highly recommend Kurk Homes for the custom home planning and construction that they provide. The fact that Kurk employs good people like Ben and Eli helps to ensure a very favorable customer experience during and after construction.

This review concerns warranty follow-up by Lorenzo Pirritano, Assistant Mgr, Warranties Texas Hill Country. We contacted Lorenzo in Nov 2017 about possible settling issues, involving exterior porch columns, porch/patio ceiling cracks, and garage ceiling cracks, with our home built in 2013. Lorenzo scheduled an on-site meeting to assess the issues. Following his assessment, he scheduled a time convenient for us in Jan 2018 to return and make needed repairs himself. He arrived timely and did an excellent job with the repairs; all done very cheerfully and professionally. His communication skills, aptitude, and professionalism are top-notch. These attributes are what we've experienced and come to expect from Kurk Homes!

We just had Kurk Homes build a 4000 square-foot custom home on our lot, and as far as homebuilding goes, it went pretty smoothly! The home is stunning and we get compliments on it all the time, from both people who come over to visit as well as people who have just driven by and seen it. People constantly told us that building a home can be one of the toughest things on a marriage but I beg to differ! Aside from some minor hiccups along the way, they provided all of the assistance needed to help us make decisions that varied from engineering to interior and exterior design. We began the design process in late December 2016, the slab was poured in late May 2017, and we moved in late February 2018. Overall, approximately a one year process but we have the home of our dreams, and we even had a hurricane we had to deal with and work around. Our construction manager, Mark, was available for all of our questions and concerns, and did his best to keep this project on schedule. We worked with Kim for Interior design and she was awesome as well. I highly recommend these guys!

Kurk Homes really takes pride in their product. I was lucky enough to buy a spec home of theirs in the Heights (Houston). From the moment we walked into the house we absolutely loved it. It had a lot of upgrades you don’t normally find in a spec home. The inspection report came out really clean and they fixed any issues we had either from the inspection or the blue tape walk thru. After we moved in, we had a couple of minor issues. We worked directly with Eli, their warranty manager, who was very polite, professional, and went above and beyond to keep us happy.

I moved into my Kurk Custom Home two weeks ago and am so happy with the quality of work provided. I've heard so many nightmares about the home-building process, but Kurk - and especially my project manager Ben - made it enjoyable! I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future.

We have been through the building process four times and all with different builders. The thing I learned is: building a house is stressful and normally not a smooth process. It is just part of the business. You have so many variables to deal with; contractors, suppliers, construction managers, designers, architects, banks, government, weather etc. Things are bound to go wrong. The one thing that really helps is an exceptional construction manager. If you can get one, it will make a world of difference. Unfortunately for us, we started our Kurk home with a construction manager that wasn't so great. That all changed when he left and we were able to finish our house with Eli. Eli is an exceptional construction manager. He went above and beyond to make things right and turn things around. He kept us informed at all times and made sure things were getting done. He did everything he could to make us happy and it worked. In the end, we have a beautiful home that we love. Thanks again to Eli for all his hard work to make sure we had a good experience. I also want to thank Chris, the president of Kurk Homes. He came through on several occasions to help us out. We do really appreciate his extra efforts.

Our build experience has been nothing but positive. Kurk is professional and all of the employees we worked with treated us great and made us feel like ours was the only home they were working on. Our GC, Ben, was great, and kept us informed throughout. Our new home is perfect and we know it was done right, quality through and through.

We have just moved into our new Kurk Home on Lake Livingston. We are extremely happy with the design, quality, and workmanship which was put into the home by Kurk Home Builders. We were especially pleased with the assistance provided to design the house to meet our exact needs and desire to take maximum advantage of the great lake view. The construction took a bit longer than we would have hoped due to bad weather. Things began to move ahead more rapidly after we were assigned Mark McGinley as our building manager/supervisor. He scheduled work to be completed and kept us informed of the progress. He was very good at getting things done. Kurk Homes has been very prompt about working off the “punch list” items. I would highly recommend Kurk Homes to anyone wishing to build an attractive, solidly built, quality custom home.

My wife Sharon and I had a very good experience overall with Kurk Homes building our new home. The house is very well built and we get many, many compliments on how beautiful the home is. We have been in the home since mid March and are very satisfied with our retirement dream home! I suppose if there are any complaints/draw backs to the whole building experience, it would be the replacement of two construction managers during the build. However, the final construction manager, Gene Surry was top notch!!! He stepped in and corrected some issues and got the build on the right track and done with the professionalism Kurk Homes strives to maintain. One thing that made it more aggravating than anything was being the very first Kurk Home built in Matagorda County slowed the building process somewhat due to the distance contractors had to travel to perform every aspect of the build. We love our home and we THANK Chris McGinnley and the Kurk Homes family for their thoughtful and warm condolences during the loss of our loved ones during the build. We're new to the Houston area. I went to the builders association's web site with the hope of finding a reputable builder. I contacted five via e-mail. Not a single one got back to me. Kurk Homes was building a house in our neighborhood. Having a sign out front was a good thing. I called them and they got back to me right away. We needed a garage built. Not a big job. Gene & Chris were always available and that meant a lot. We now have a beautiful two car garage. Kurk Homes is professional, punctual, caring and they listen. We couldn't be more happy.

Completely unrealistic on pricing that they tell you about during the pre-sale, you only learn about the true price after you give them the $2,500. Once they come back with the price that is $40 per square foot more than the original quote, for a house with no special features, they then tell you that the $2,500 has all been used up by the "designer's" time, despite it being a few simple drawings with no real detail, and it would not have taken many alterations had they actually listened to what we wanted. Save yourself the aggravation and just flush 25 hundred dollar bills down the toilet. Better yet, give that money to a good charity, at least you will have something to show for it.

Our experience with Kurk Homes has been nothing but a great experience for us. We have met and worked with several people along the way and each of them was a pleasure to work with. I will start this off by mentioning that custom home building is a daunting task. The sheer number of choices can make you feel like you will get lost in the minutia of designing the home, but Kurk Homes staff kept us on point and offered a guiding a hand whenever we needed it. They go above and beyond in making sure you get exactly what you want in a timely manner. We broke ground in February of 2016 after going through the design process in 2015. We went through many different iterations of what we wanted for our plans and eventually settled on what we agreed was a perfect middle ground. During the design process they listened to feedback and would implement exactly what we wanted in the most reasonable way. Occasionally it may not have been possible, but we always found a middle ground to make it work. While it can be scary only going in with an idea, Kurk Homes made the process fairly painless and it was exciting to see the plan we had dreamed of finally on paper at the end of this stage. After breaking ground in February we had high hopes of being able to move in "soon". We had figured maybe 7-9 months would best a good estimated time frame depending on weather and the size of our house. Things got off to a good start, but occasionally we would get a hiccup during the building process. We kept a close eye on the construction to the best of our abilities and would point out things that needed to be fixed as they happened from week to week. Problems were quickly addressed- though sometimes with unexpected monetary cost from our end. Due to several staff transitions in the midst of our build, things got delayed further as we transitioned from one building manager to another. After finally building a rapport with the previous manager we were concerned with having to do it again from scratch with the next. This was also a big deal for us since it was so sudden going from the first to the next. However, this not only happened once, but twice! We were finally making progress with the second when we had found that we were being transitioned to a third manager! This one would eventually go on to finish the building of our home. Up to this point, you would be thinking why would you use Kurk Homes if during the most critical of times (during the build itself), the process was so tumultuous and inconsistent? Let me put your concerns at ease- EVERY single person we had the pleasure of working with from Kurk was knowledgeable and professional. Even when a huge bump in the road like that occurred, the staff was always there to help us out, reassure us, and even the owner of Kurk Homes itself, Chris, would pitch in to make sure any concerns we had were taken care of. Even during the transitions it did not take long for one building manager to keep the schedule moving from the previous one. Kurk Homes was nothing but completely open and full disclosure on anything we wanted to know. If there was ever a question we needed answered, they would not hesitate to sit down and personally explain to us anything we wanted to know. House building is definitely an involved experience. Kurk Homes has made sure that in the end- everything was perfect. We finished and moved in at the end of November. There are still a few ticket items to work on, but nothing that prevents us from living in the house from day to day. Kurk has been very active in fixing these items so do not lead yourself to believe they are the type of company to just take your money and run. I would be a liar if I said this process was without complications, but I wholeheartedly can state that it was a GREAT decision for me to have chosen Kurk Homes to build our dream house. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and anyone else looking for a custom home builder would do themselves a disservice by not considering Kurk Homes for building their home as well. To the many people that helped us along the way, thank you so much for the time and effort you poured into our house. Kurk Homes built our home in 2012. They walked us through every step and we learned so much through the process. 4 years later we are still happy with our home and the service they provided during and after the build. Last week, we couldn't find a GFI reset switch. I knew it wasn't really a problem for Kurk Homes, but I called them to see if they had any advice. Eli, from warranty, took time out of his schedule and went out of his way to come and help us. I am embarrassed to say, he found it in minutes! Their quality, honesty and service speak for themselves and I highly recommend them.

Two years after new home construction, a structural support issue was identified under our front porch. Kurk eventually sent a structural engineer who confirmed that minor additional support were recommended. Eli came promptly and completed the work handily and to our satisfaction. I enjoyed working with Eli in this matter and was impressed that Kurk Homes does honor their warranties.

We moved into our Kurk Home in December 2015. The process of creating our retirement home was a great learning experience. It was a memorable journey for us. Our design process took 16 months while working with J. Barreda who is an extremely talented design professional. J was instrumental in creating our final design plan and he was always available, when needed, throughout our build to completion. Chris Obalek our project manager, far exceeded our expectation. Chris O worked hard from day one to make sure our home was built to specifications. He was also mindful of our budget, keeping communications open and accommodating us for meetings within our schedules, even working on weekends to keep our project going forward. Kurk Homes builds a very energy efficient home, has a knowledgeable informative staff and was responsive to all our concerns during all phases of our build. Great customer service by Eli! I had requested some warranty repairs and was contacted by Eli very quickly to set up the vendors to do the repairs. He contacted me after each repair was completed to confirm the repair was done to our satisfaction.

Kurk homes has done a wonderful job building our forever home. Our house was done before schedule even though we had some rough weather in the beginning. The process was as smooth as it could go. I would recommend Kurk homes to anyone that is designing a custom home. We love our new house!

He was so easy to contact and always answered our questions and concerns quickly. When things were not done as we expected, they were immediately redone to our satisfaction. It was so rewarding to see our home come to life during the building process under Mark's direction. We have acreage in the country about 40 minutes from Magnolia, but Mark was always willing to meet us at the construction site when needed. Thanks Mark for your patience and help during the building phase. We've enjoyed our home every day and look forward to many years in our Kurk Home. Chris McGinley was so helpful from the very beginning---meeting with us, answering questions, and explaining many details to us. He was even willing to meet us at the building site before we had made a commitment to use Kurk Homes. We had a great experience building with Kurk. From the time the slab was poured until we closed was a little better than 6 months and we love the house. Mark and Chris were very good about addressing issues we had and coming to a resolution that satisfied everybody. We closed at the end of May and have found some other issues that need attention. Mark has been very prompt at getting the various trades out to have the work completed. I feel like Mark and Chris have gone above and beyond what they are required to do post-closing. My Dad was in construction for 40+ years and was quite complimentary of the quality of their work. I would build with Kurk again without any reservations. It was a low stress process with results that we all LOVE!!!

Kurk Homes just completed a new home for us in King Oaks near College Station, and the results were excellent. Kurk is a design/build home builder that can take your project from concept to completion. Our experience was great beginning with the design process. Kurk has an on staff architect that can help the homeowners translate the idea or preliminary into a finished plan, suitable for building. They were very patient with us during the design period where we were developing our final vision. As we were finalizing the plans, Chris McGinley insisted on taking us to visit homes in progress (not finished homes) because Chris wanted us to see where Kurk takes the extra care to build a good quality product. Most builders show you finished homes with any potential defects already hidden by the walls. This was impressive. One of the reasons that we selected Kurk was that they used a licensed Professional Engineer to design the foundation and framing. As a PE myself I know that this is not required by law in Texas for home construction, but Kurk is willing to take this extra step to assure a great outcome. Kurk also uses third party inspectors to provide a quality check on their construction work, which is not done by many builder any where. During the building process the Construction Manager, Mark McGinley was great to work with. Mark is very personable , and also very knowable in all trades that make up the home. He never failed to address any concern that I raised. His response time was always swift, either by email, phone, or text message. We highly recommend Kurk Homes for any home building project. Bravo to Kurk ....I interviewed copious builders since I was so worried about our life savings was going into our final "aging in place" home. Kurk hones was not the " flash and trash " of other builders and in these beginning stages has been forthright and they have not put in hidden charges. I will review again at the end of the process. J is an amazingly patient architect ...giving me my dreams within my budget; Sabith is a saint as my advisor; and the family represents honesty & pride in their company. I would be remiss if I did not add my comments here to that of my wife whom already left a review. I grew up the son of a home-builder (far away from here) and have spent a large part of my life around construction. I cannot overstate how strongly I feel that Kurk Homes did a great job with our house. They care about the details, the workmanship,even with things that would be hidden from view (or the understanding of most owners) was outstanding. Working with Mark McGinley as our Project Manager was better than we could have hoped for. He was always honest, direct, patient and easy to talk to. His change order estimates turned out to be what things actually cost, he did not try to lead us down paths that were to his companies benefit, he worked with us, listened and tried to produce the home that we wanted. However, he also had our best interest in mind and talked us out of things that truly would have been a mistake. The strongest recommendation I can possibly give would be to answer the question, If I had another home to build would I choose Kurk Homes and Mark, the answer to that would be 100% YES.

We love our beautiful Kurk Homes house. We've been in for a month. Mark McGinley had us in ahead of schedule (despite a building boom that caused a contractor squeeze and torrential rains for months), we only paid what we expected to, and it's even more wonderful than we'd hoped for. Mark is unflappable, helpful, reasonable, hardworking, kind, and never made us feel foolish when we asked for (sometimes) foolish things. We even scored some wonderful leftover building supplies. We love Kurk Homes! We sold our home in Houston in one hour so we needed to build fast. After the design was settled, Kurk Homes built our home in 3-1/2 months! We built in an area where there was no electric or water, but Kurk Homes worked around this problem. We put the water well in, and Kurk Homes got a generater. Most of the house was built before our power company was able to put in our electric. Thank you Kurk Homes, especially Mark McGinley, our construction manager, for everything.

We contracted Kurk Homes to build a home for us on our land southwest of Huntsville. My husband was able to see the quality of work on a daily basis and commented often of the high quality. Of course, there were days with no activity that were frustrating to us but we reminded ourselves that we were out in the boonies and we knew the location created special scheduling perplexities that other projects did not encounter. All in all, we love our new home.

Most custom builders are not quite as flexible as Kurk is, and since I had some antique architectural pieces my job was a bit challenging. Though not without a few hiccups in the process, I found Jonathan to be solution oriented and we managed to work through everything to my satisfaction. Several subs and neighbors in the building process have commented on the high quality of the Kurk building standards. I am so happy with the end result, and now one year later I can testify to the continuation of excellent service after the sale is closed. Though our warranty issues have been little things, every one has been brought to resolution. Kurk Homes is awesome!

We recently built our dream home in Montgomery with Kurk Homes. We talked to a couple of other homebuilders, but chose Kurk because so many “upgrades” were considered “standard” and we felt we would get more for our money. We’ve seen how painful building a custom home can be—in terms of timing, cost and general aggravation. We were fully prepared to endure some of this pain. However, the process with Kurk Homes was virtually painless. Our superintendent, Ernest Mokry, stayed on top of the process and kept us informed every step of the way. There were no unpleasant “surprises.” Of course, there were a couple of minor problems, but Ernest had a solution for each that we were very happy with. Our home was ready right on schedule, and we absolutely love it. I can’t believe the quality of workmanship—all of the subcontractors are truly craftsmen who did a superb job. The stone work, the cabinetry, the millwork—everything is top quality. We love our new home, and would recommend Kurk to anyone planning to build a custom home. You will not be disappointed.

contracted to build a custom home with Kurk Homes went through a few construction superintendence finally Mark McGinley took on our project. Mark was easy to work with, completed work timely, made good suggestions and seemed to have the client needs as a priority. Mark made the process very easy with great results. All in all the home turned out beautiful, quality work with minor problems here and there through the process. I would have given them a 5 star but the time frame was not appropriately given setting expections that were not realized.

Chose Kurk homes for the "quality" that we were told that we would receive; however, we have had unsupervised trades - causing really poor quality of work and us having to demand replacement and repairs numerous times - we were smart enough to take pics because the trades did try to patch and paint damaged areas. Our contractor was changed to Chris Obalek and Javier. After meeting with Steve -Mgr.and Chris and Javier we now have all of our issues resolved and have signed for our final draw and we looking forward to moving in to our new home.

After a lifetime of dreaming, the time came when I was ready to build my retirement farmhouse in beautiful Austin County. I researched every builder I could find that took on such a personalized project from small artisans to large well known companies. Finally, I found Kurk Homes and boy, am I glad I did! During my first meeting with Chris McGinley I knew I'd found the company I wanted to build my dream...I put Texas faith in gut feelings and this gut feeling was off the map great. Chris attentively listened to my ideas and patiently explored my 3" binder of photos. We talked for two hours. He conveyed pride in his company and spoke honestly about costs, materials, time lines and building procedures. I left that meeting feeling very confident that I could put my trust (and hard earned savings!) into the hands of Kurk Homes. Once again I toted my big binder of ideas and met with J, my architect designer, to customize my home plans. Our personalities meshed brilliantly and after a lot of, "can you do this? Can you change that?" we had our plan! I think J must stand for Job because this man had the patience of Job. My construction manager was Josh Waters. I cannot praise him enough. Josh has many outstanding characteristics but two that stand out to me in particular are his organizational skills and his perceptive ability to listen to and interpret my desires and concerns. He took such time with me, treating me as if I was his only client. I could always depend on a quick response from numerous emails and phone calls (actually that quick response includes everyone at Kurk). Josh's exceptional knowledge of all things construction allowed me to put my faith and trust in him and he came through each and every time. Even though the house has been completed for over a month, Josh continues to contact me to make sure things are going well. Josh Waters has a secure future in the construction industry as far as I'm concerned. I probably wasn't Kurk Homes "easiest" client! From the beginning, I had my farmhouse vision ingrained in my mind and I was very particular. My farmhouse was my retirement dream as well as a big chuck of my life's savings. I'd heard horror stories about home construction and was nervous when this venture first started. I researched EVERYTHING! I asked a TON of questions to Chris, J, Melanie and (poor) Josh! I watched with an eagle's eye throughout the whole process. I can relay with 100% honesty, that Kurk Homes came through with flying colors. Although I may not have been their "easiest" client, I'm now sure I'm one of their happiest customers. I recommend Kurk Homes as an exceptional quality custom home builder. They are honest, reliable and integrity runs through their veins. They made me feel comfortable and secure from start to finish. My project was finished on time, in the budget I expected. We've just about completed our new home with Kurk Homes. Our Construction Manager is Josh Waters, and he has been the very best to work with. He is our second Construction Manager, and we are truly happy that Kurk Homes assigned him to work with us. Josh has, from the very beginning, treated us like we were building a mansion, and made us feel like our home was the very best being built, and that every thing that concerned us was a priority for him to address. Josh was very quick to respond to our phone calls, texts, or emails and addressed each one with timely responses. He was always very personable and knowledgeable each time we met with him at the house, and if he could not respond to our inquiry, he felt comfortable admitting he needed to research the matter and get back with us. While this happened infrequently, he was still very helpful and gave us a satisfying response. I would like to applaud Josh for his hard work, keeping in constant contact with us during our home building process, and for always explaining each step along the way. We would not hesitate at all to recommend Josh to anyone that needed a home built, and we are very proud that he was our Construction Manager. I signed contract with Kurk homes on 20th June 2013 for sum of $387,000 home. It was fixed price project with Kurk homes. As it is custom home, Kurk agreed to buy lot and I was supposed to pay $30,000. I did payed $30,000. It took home complete almost 1.5 year. Closed on 23 Dec 2014. Kurk home did not finish final grade and lot of activity as per design. Did not finish the work as per agreement... Do not consider...

We can't say enough good things about our experience with Kurk Homes! From the start to the finish...everyone was always there to make our dream home come true! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kurk Homes and the McGinley/Kurk family to anyone! Thank you for building the home of our dreams! We LOVE it!!! AAA+++!!!

This builder was an absolute disappointment at best. I such High hopes with these people. Kurk Homes has not fulfilled on iota of their contract obligation. They continually pestered me for more money. They stopped the build several times because I wanted to cut back on items in order to stay within a contract price of $320K plus for my 1800 square foot home. They misjudged the dirt work amount by $6700.00. They never gave me the opportunity to review any work order changes until after they had done the work. They began this project in August 2012 and in July 2013 they decided to cancel the contract because I refused to give out any more monies to them. Always over budget, always changing the deadlines, using pressure tactics like stopping the build, stating I was in breach of the contract, threatening verbally to seek legal action against me. Only to have them tell me they did not want to build this house and t hey were way over budget without even having floors placed in the house. Please think twice before using Kurk Homes Regards,
