Alex was wonderful to work with. She was trustworthy, nonjudgmental and her suggestions were perfect with my style. I plan on continuing to work with her on future projects. Villa Decor is just what our area needs and I love the boutique.

Villa Decor put he finishing touches on the interior of our house to make it a home! Amy and Alex are so friendly and easy to work with and take the time to learn exactly what you are looking for. The new furniture, pictures, rug and accessories in our living room are beautiful! They also helped us design a built in entertainment center and a custom piece of furniture and knew exactly the right quality craftsmen to complete the job. I highly recommend them!

We hired Villa Decor to help with our architectural plans as well as to decorate our house once completed. This was the best decision we made. They made changes to the architectural design of the interior which made more sense with the flow and how we planned to use the space. Amy and Alex really helped us think through how we planned to use each space before purchasing furniture and decor. Our furniture is perfect! Our house became a home because of them. We would hire them again in a heartbeat!

We built a new home and Villa Decor is very well versed in the construction process and relates very well to contractors…working collaboratively and proactively in the best interest of the home owner. Amy Darooge, owner and principal designer, is very creative. She establishes a total design philosophy, look and feel and brings wonderful attention to detail. Amy is sensitive to budgets and also very innovative in using pre-owned furniture--custom painted to achieve a desired design effect. She is candid and honest with her professional opinions while respecting the home owner's tastes, style and budget. Amy has many supply resources for furniture and accessories and can manage start-to-finish interior design based on the home owner's preference and level of hands-on involvement and interest.

My husband and I have worked with Amy/Villa Decor on multiple projects over the past six years, for both our home and cottage. We can't say enough about her talent, professionalism and wonderful customer service! She has gone above and beyond for us, always wanting to be sure we were happy with the end result. She has such a natural eye for color and spacial placement, and really educates you through the design process. I would highly recommend Villa Decor!

My husband and I hired Villa Decor to provide all of the interior design services, including designing a kitchen remodel, for our newly purchased home. We hired Amy after seeing her beautiful designs on the www.villadecor.com website. We came into the project with very few ideas of what we wanted, but many ideas of what we did not want. We have changed directions a few times along the way and Amy, along with her assistant Alex, have been very accommodating and patient during this process. My husband and I have very different tastes, but somehow, Amy has been able to find a happy medium that pleases both of us. She has picked out colors we love, furnishings that are exactly what we want, and has also made recommendations for updates and enhancements to our home. She has completely redesigned our kitchen to make it a place we will enjoy spending time in with family and friends. Amy has worked closely with the builder to make sure all of our requirements are met, which has taken the stress off of us. Everyone on the team loves her ideas and enjoys working with her. Our project is currently under construction and is scheduled to be done in April of next year. We are both excited for the outcome. We would highly recommend Villa Decor in all realms of interior design.

Professional, great eye, enthusiastic, genuine, helpful. I would have to say, however, that follow-through and service is slow due to high demand, and their focus is geared toward larger projects and big money clients. In my particular situation, I just moved to the Grand Rapids area and asked for help on 3 specific spaces ... the living room (layout, furniture, fireplace mantel, decor), front foyer (function, decor), and master bedroom (layout, furniture, decor). Considering Villa Decor's great Houzz reviews, experience, and expertise, I thought this would be an easy job for Villa Decor to wrap-up in 6 months or so. In the beginning, lots of great ideas were thrown around, measurements were taken, enthusiasm was shared, and I happily followed most of their initial layout suggestions. But after 7 months of intermittent and hopeful contact (2-3 home visits and a good deal of email communication), only the foyer was truly finished. Over the course of those months, I mainly received general design direction and website links to suggested items, and at the end of 7 months, besides a few pillows, no other decorative items were purchased or brought in to fill up the space (e.g. the fireplace mantel, console, built-in shelving and floors remained untouched). In summary, I found Villa Decor personally delightful, professional, and helpful for initial consultation and idea-building; and they were available via email and text to serve as a bouncing board for online finds. However, in the end, the job wasn't completely done. I was willing and able to spend the money but felt I spent way more than I should have for the services finally received; and while I understand I wasn't a top priority, I felt I was just being tagged along.

The owner, Amy Darooge, is very knowledgeable, talented and great to work with. She listened to our needs and ideas and then put together an incredible package that made each room look incredible. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing help with design or decorating a home or business.

We met Amy just about a year ago as we started on our journey to build a modern rustic home in Northern Michigan. We are so lucky that we engaged her. She is the ultimate consummate professional. She has an uncanny ability to visualize the project from start to finish on both the inside and outside of the project. Many times she would simply say just "trust me", and we would, and we are glad we did, because at the end of the day, everything came together in perfect harmony. She is a good listener, but at the same time firm in leading us to the desired state. Our new home is simply spectacular, a tribute to Amy and her talent. Pick one..... subject matter expert, top shelf, top drawer, or simply, the best of the best, as these all describe Amy and her capabilities. We could not have been happier. Amy Darooge of Villa Décor is a complete joy to work with. She is talented and professional, hard-working and always keeps on schedule. She has a knack for listening to what is important to her client and then delivering an outstanding solution. I would give her 10 stars if I could. My project is complete, I will miss her.

Amy is awesome! We built a home for the first time this year. It was very overwhelming with all the decisions that had to be made. We had a style that we liked but needed help to pull it all together. Amy took our ideas and gave amazing design advise in a matter of 1-2 hour meetings here and there though out our building process. This was important to us because we had a limited budget, but wanted a high quality designer to bounce off ideas. Our home is almost complete and it looks absolutely gorgeous thanks to Amy's help. I would recommend her to anyone with home design needs.

Over the past 6 years Villa Decor has been involved in our residential and commercial projects, elevating our level of service building design and providing satisfied clients. Closely working and understanding the clients, she has been able to take her flair and incorporate it into their needs.
