I have used Robb and Laying It Down for 4 projects. Kitchen backsplash and counters, master bathroom redo, stacked stone fireplace and shower renovation. I trust Robb and the craftsmen he hires. Joey did an outstanding job on my fireplace and he and Yessic made me a beautiful shower. I will continue to use them for any future projects and I recommend them highly.

We had our master bathroom redone, and Laying It Down did a great job. They were on time each day and answered any questions or concerns we had. Their tiler Joey was exceptional and a real master at his craft. I would highly recommend them for any renovation. We were very glad we hired them, even though their quote was not the lowest one we got.

I've worked with Robb for the past 2 years helping him acquire items for his projects. I didn't realize how amazing his work was until today. He's always been a pleasure to work with, has not once been anything close to unprofessional, and hope to continue doing business with him for many years to come. If I ever moved into the area, wouldn't dream of having anyone else remodel my home.

I cannot say enough good things about this company. We hired them to remove our existing kitchen floor and replace it with porcelin tile which they did beautifully. It was a pleasure to have the guys in our home. They were polite, showed up on time, left the site clean every day and did a great job. The company is very easy to communicate with and always returned our calls or addressed any concerns we had right away. They are very knowledge, professional and overall wonderful to work with. I definitely would use them again and recommend them to all.

They did a great job. It started with a thorough assessment of what needed to be done, then an accurate and fair estimate for the costs (much less then the other quote I got) and then proceeded to a timely and professional execution of the work. It is all exactly as we discussed and agreed and it didn't take any management on my part to get it there. If you have work to be done, trust Robb and team to do a quality job.

We had a major kitchen remodel and Robb and crew were excellent from start to finish. Robb spent lots of time with us assisting us with the layout and design of our project. He was very helpful in these early stages providing his expertise and feedback on our overall design. Between the three of us (my husband I and Robb) we had a pretty solid plan moving forward. Along the way a few changes were made and Robb was more than accommodating and willing to allow our final design to shine through. Robb has an excellent attention to detail and you can see that in the quality of work that he and his crew provide. For the scope of the project we were given an original time frame of 6-8 weeks and Robb and crew completed the major portion of our job within 5 weeks! Needless to say we actually were able to use the entire kitchen for Thanksgiving, which was a very welcome surprise. Robb also employs a fantastic group of workers who showed up when they said, cleaned up and we're extremely respectful to myself, my husband and our two young children. Overall we are extremely happy with the final outcome and love our new kitchen, laundry room and powder room. We look forward to utilizing Laying it down for a few more projects in the future.

I hired laying it down to replace a shower in my daughters bathroom. Robb, Krissy, and their team were wonderful to work with. They did an excellent job and were very respectful of schedule, budget and time. Joey who did the demo and tile work was awesome and did an excellent job. In June of 2014 my wife and I hired Laying It Down to renovate our master bath. The owner Robb Merritt was on the job site regularly and followed progress closely. I am a perfectionist engineer with OCD and very hard to please. That being said the Laying It Down crew met and exceeded my expectations and I have already recommended the company to several of my friends. Mr. Merritt's work is over the top and If you are considering any type of tile work do not hesitate to hire Laying It Down. I plan to have them do more work for me in 2015. Job well done.

When I first spoke to Robb, I was immediately impressed. As a homeowner unsure of my vision, he was able to gauge my interests and guide me toward what I wanted. After several quotes, we chose Laying it Down because Robb impressed us the most with his creative ideas that complemented our simple, yet classic, motif. Once we submitted our deposit, the only complaint I have was a miscommunication where the company thought they had called us with a timeline when they had not. That being said, once we picked out our granite and the project started I was over the moon impressed with their crew. I love the plumber (very professional and personable), the tile man is phenomenal, and Krissy came out every day and made sure that everything was done to our expectation and their attention to detail is noteworthy. I cannot stop looking at our new kitchen, it is like we have this new facelift to our house. I will definitely use them again.

We talked to several contractors before we talked to Robb and there was no comparison! Robb is a true professional and is extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of of a remodel. Others we talked to had a "yeah I can probably do something like that" attitude. Not Robb - he worked with us to come up with a plan that would be beautiful, functional and within our budget. He has a great eye for design and made suggestions for materials and layout to keep within the budget and give us a beautiful result. His guidance was invaluable. They all went above and beyond to make sure our bathroom was perfect - and it is! We could not be happier.

They started exactly when they said they would, and came every day- on time...they were very very neat- demo was painless - And their employees really are artisans. And after seeing and experiencing their work both in countless projects I've designed and in my own $40K high-rise condo bathroom project, I wouldn't want to work with anyone else. Our bathroom renovation required the installation of over 120 square feet of 1x1 delicate custom glass tiles in a mosaic pattern, mounted and grouted on a vertical feature wall. The skill and technique required for this type of installation comes only through skilled craftsmanship and experience. Laying it Down did an incredible job and we were thrilled with the work! I can truly say there is no one better in the Charlotte area!
