This company deserves ZERO STARS....Save your money. Do business with a company that has integrity! My husband and I went to the Los Angeles County Fair in September 2019. We met the female sales representative who was very friendly (of course, only to make the sale). She showed us what we can include in the island which totaled a whopping $15,500. We weren’t sure if we wanted to purchase the island because at the end of the day, it was a lot of money. The female sales rep told us that if my husband and I purchased the island she would throw in 5 patio chairs. Well, that sounded like a deal.... so I told her if she threw one more patio chair, I would buy the island. She agreed! We purchased a $15,500 Bbq Island thinking that the sales rep was going to keep her word in regards to the chairs!!!!! Guess what? She did not! They delivered the island without my chairs. I called the FEMALE Rep and she did not answer. I called the company and spoke to her assistant who said he was not her assistant, he was the manager! Horrible customer service. He clearly told me they will not help me because it was not on the contract! They need to fix customer service. When a customer spends that amount of money, they should honor what was promised to the customer!!!
This female rep failed to write the 6 chairs on the contract. We trusted her and she lied to us!!! After calling numerous times, she finally got back to me and said she was going to fix the problem. At first, she said the chairs were out of stock, and they expect them in January. I texted her the first week of February 2020, and she ignored my text. I texted her again the next day, and of course, she said she will call me when feasible!!! That to me sounded like her typical lies. Again, I texted her at the end of the week, and she replied saying that she would have an answer for me on Monday, February 10th. Well, I’m still waiting for her reply! I called the company and left a message to speak to the owner. I told the guy who answered the phone my issue, and I also said that I have text messages from her admitting to her mistake. He asked if I could forward the messages, which I did. About 4 hours later, I get a call from the guy who said he was the manager! That same guy who I spoke to in October. The same guy who was unprofessional and rude. He made all these excuses for the sales rep...Poor her she talks to a lot of people every day and she made a mistake, but all they can offer me is 25% off for all 6 chairs !!! He said the entire office was in a meeting to come up with a resolution and 25% was the best they can do for me!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - WE ARE GOING TO FILE A SMALL CLAIM ON KOKOMO GRILL, and on the sales rep. Very disappointed with this company and with the service they provided. I should have gone with the other company . I learn a lesson here!! I should have read the reviews before purchasing this island! And i shouldn’t of trusted this female sales person!!! She lied to us in order to make the sale! Not right!! No integrity whatsoever!!!
The manager refused to give me the owner’s name, and I told him...check your website it’s on there. Also, the information of the company and owner is on the BBB.org site.

The grills at the home show are not even close to the quality that they deliver. The stone top needed repair work upon delivery. We didn’t get to pick the date of repair work. It was strictly their decision. The repair work was barely acceptable. After 3 months and only a couple uses the fourth burner, being the last one in line with the gas supply, would not light.. I tried to light burner with only that one burner on.. there appeared to be a restriction. When I called The company, they said the utility gas company needs to turn up the pressure. REALLY! What kind of idiot do you take me for, you idiot!. The pressure at the far end of gas supply line is going to be the same at the beginning of that line when you are trying to start it. After talking with the store manager he said to take the burner apart and bring it in! Can’t remember if they would have me pay for the replacement. This review is a little late, but what reminded me of this horrible experience was the good experience I just had with a security door company who came out after TWO YEARS of purchase. ARE YOU READING THIS KOKOMO!? What a way to run a company. Never again in my lifetime will I use them.

OBJECTIVE REVIEW of the product and customer service provided by Kokomo Grills / Backyard Accents. I was introduced to the company at the Phoenix Lawn & Garden show.
Was the product delivered as per the contractual design, free of defects, and fully functional?
NO. The grill was missing puck lights. The burner knobs became very hot and caused skin irritation. The grill hood bent downward, eventually preventing the hood from fully opening. The regulator was broken, so propane was leaking. The tiles were not epoxied. The propane gas doors were installed grossly out of square. The electrical work is not to code. The company is not R.O.C. certified.
Was the delivery on time?
NO. This is not an opinion. They just didn’t show up on time.
Was customer service friendly and/or helpful?
NO. Aaron Watts, the president, would not accept or return any phone calls or emails. Jimmy Lucas, the Vice President, did return my calls. He raised his voice and accused me of threatening him because I was requesting a working product. He escalated the situation and stated, “You overheated the grill.” This was a comical statement. The vice president of a BBQ Island company telling his customer he overheated the grill. Just to be clear, the hazardous burner knobs and grill hood dysfunction were reproduced in the presence of Kokomo Grill / Backyard Accent employees upon delivery, on camera at approximately 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Did Kokomo Grills eventually respond to your phone calls or emails? Did they honor their warranty?
NO. Unfortunately I had to file a formal dispute. Kokomo Grills / Backyard Accents failed to respond to reasonable requests to resolve the issue.
Would I recommend Kokomo Grills /Backyard Accents to my friends and family?
NO. I would not recommend this company to my friends or family, but, it’s not because the product was defective. Things happen in life and sometimes products are defective. Even Apple has a computer or phone that malfunctions from time to time. The difference is good companies honor their warranty, treat their customers with respect, and take accountability. Should you decide to purchase a product from this company I hope you have a better experience than I did.

The company provided us with a high quality outdoor kitchen at a fair price, delivered on time with excellent follow-up. The installation went very smoothly and they tried various configurations until we were happy. So far we've held several parties and everyone has commented on the beautiful aesthetics.

We purchased a grill island with refrigerator 2 years ago. It arrived just as expected. It performs extremely well, and still looks brand new. Very happy customer.

I met the representative at the Del Mar Fair this summer. She was exceptionally friendly, helpful and thorough. I ordered my BBQ on the spot. It was delivered EARLY and just as I expected. It is nicely crafted and designed. We are very happy and can't wait to use it.

We purchased the St John's bar & grill at the Home Show. It is attractive, well built and appears to meet all of our needs - bar, grill, and refrigerator. Fits perfect with our patio. Delivery was done on time as needed and good info on operation was provided at delivery.

I ordered a maui island and a 4 burner kokomo grill at the San Diego fare in 2013 from Nancy. She was very professional and knew the product well. When delivered, I received just what I ordered. Over these 3 years, the product operated as advertised, I'm very pleased. The whole product is a real asset to my back yard. I can highly recommend Backyard Accents.

We ordered the St. Johns High Bar at the Phoenix home show. Our order was just for the grill which we wanted centered and the stainless steel door under the grill. After ordering we had a modification on it where we decided to get the umbrella and sleeve at an additional cost of $160.00.
Today the grill arrived but the grill is on one side (not centered) and their is no umbrella or sleeve to put it in. I am not happy with the manufacturing part of this as it is not what we ordered, but the men delivering it were wonderful. They helped us to choose a location that this grill will work so we do not have to send it back. They deserve a reward!
We do need to get back the $160 for the mod we did not receive. Opps, they just called as I am writing this review. Will see if it posts on our banking account. Thanks!
The grill was first ordered in August but the modifications was in September.

DO NOT USE!! This has to be the WORST company I have ever used!! I spent a lot of money on a grill and what I got was garbage. They messed up and forgot to put my stone on then just slapped it on and it looks terrible. If this is the great quality they talk about I don't know how they are in business. After calling and calling and NO ONE returning my calls. I think they forgot that I was the customer. The manager Jimmy told me that he was to busy to get back to me and that I should thank him because he got the stone on. What great customer service. After having to pay for a door that the sales person said I was getting, they installed it and it's totally crooked! Again, terrible quality!! Stay far away from this company!! I have never seen such poor customer service and quality of work. So unless you want something poorly made and slapped together and the WORST customer service imaginable. Do not use this company!!

Overall experience was great.
Bought our grill at the Home show and the sales representatives worked out all the questions and concerns we had.
Would recommend to family and friends, we get so many compliments with our backyard design.
