We have our dream backyard thanks to Welwyn and her team. Our vision was a zen-like high end resort feel and she delivered. It's our happy place and sanctuary. Not only is it stunning, it has won design awards and has been featured in the Ottawa Citizen and Techo-Bloc catalogues. As we will be building a new home very soon, we are excited to work with Welwyn again. Highly recommend.

Welwyn has done 2 outdoor designs for us. The first was for a large property surrounding a 5,000 sq’ home and the second is with our current smaller city home. Her concepts transformed our outdoor living space making it very usable, inviting, a place that called you to want to spend time in. She really listens to what you are trying to achieve and delivers right up to completion of project. Very happy with her and will use her for any future projects.

We are very pleased with the design created by Welwyn for the reformation of our back yard. She brought to the project an astounding degree of creativity that has transformed the area into the backyard oasis we desired. Equally important, working with Welwyn was a pleasure. She listened to our "wants" and brought to the table creative options to make them a reality. This was a pleasurable and professional experience from start to finish.

We contracted Welwyn and her team to redesign our backyard. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Ours is not a large backyard, so we were very happy to find someone who was willing to take it on, as most companies seem to prefer to deal with large projects. Welwyn was very flexible and met with us at our convenience to discuss our vision. She took the time to listen carefully to what we wanted, and then took those ideas and transformed our dysfunctional backyard into a wonderful, colourful outdoor living space in the middle of the burbs. We have received several compliments from friends and family on how great our backyard looks. Welwyn and her staff were a pleasure to deal witth. They were always very pleasant, professional, and attentive to our needs and our budget. Even though we knew they had other clients, we never felt ignored or overlooked. Once the design plans were completed, outlining the types of plants, patio stones and other materials we needed, Welwyn coordinated the entire project for us. This allowed us to go to work every day without worry, confident that our property was in good hands. She arranged for the trades/contractors who were most suited for the size of our particular project. Throughout the project, she was on site dealing directly with the contractors to ensure that her/our vision of the backyard was executed according to plan. Welwyn herself was always available to help us deal with unexpected issues and make decisions. It was a wise investment to hire a professional with the knowledge, expertise and connections to bring our dreams to life. Welwyn Wong was recommended to me by a local landscape company. We wanted to do some work on our backyard but really had no idea what to do, what to plant etc. Welwyn came to see our yard, and we talked about things we envisioned for the space. Her staff came again in the cold blowing snow to measure all of the dimensions of the yard, existing deck, patio etc. After their winter break, we did a conference call to take a look at the preliminary design ideas. We were very happy with her thoughts, ideas and concepts. From there, after a few minor changes, we were given a beautiful design with, what we trust will be, gorgeous flower beds, beautiful trees and an overall peaceful space. We can't wait to see it all come to life!

I will rate this company 0 if it provides this score. I had such an unhappy and frustrating experience with this company, and the owner Welwyn Wong that I feel obligated to speak up. I want to do a Japanese garden inspired backyard makeover and I chose this company from houzz for the reviews and the claimed specialization, which all turned out to be overrated and untrue from my experience. This company lacks basic professional ethics, no informed procedures, no schedule/timeline to keep, and the designers do not show sound qualifications in garden design. Welwyn Wong came to my property for a garden consultation around November 14 2018, the charged consultation session did not produce sketches nor any sort of written material. After I signed the contract to hire them to design my backyard and sent them the requested deposit, I was then told that they cannot finish my design before end of November and they would have 2-month winter break starting December 1st. They should have come to my property to take some photos before the snow fall convering the existing hardscape, but they did not make it. I contacted them second week of February 2019, with photos of the backyard hardscape, the existing plants' tags, and highlighted the design objectives in the contract and the design challenges (they did not ask these but I sensed that they did not have all the necessary information to do a good design, which they should have after I signed the contract). They emailed the draft concept design on 02/14 after I payed them the rest of fee in full, because they said that I can only go to their office to discuss the concept design if I do not pay them in full, which turns to be my another mistake. The concept design turned out to be a garbage and nothing worth a on-site discussion. After a couple of email exchanges, Welwyn Wong called to discuss the matter and said they would sent the updated design for our scheduled on-site discussion on 02/26. But they ate their words. After the on-site meeting, they said that they would send me the design based on the discussion. I waited until 03/04, and contacted them again for the updated design, which they sent that day. I was unhappy for how they handled the challenging areas I have mention to them multiple times, and their response was all way to disappointing. At that point, I simply wanted to end this and asked them to mail me the hard copy of the design with the scaling and the list of the plants as they have put in the contract. Welwyn Wong called me around 3/18 to discuss the areas I am unhappy because the suggested plants do not grow well in those areas. They again said that they will send me the update. of course, again, I did not receive any till today (3/30) although I left voice message and sent them email, which I did not even get any responses from the company. This company cares about money and nothing more. It is a shame that such company still survives in ottawa garden design business.

Welyn’s design transformed our backyard from just nice to a beautiful oasis. When I saw it this spring, it was like taking in a breath of fresh air after a long wait. Welwyn gave us a backyard escape. She also coordinated all the trades and jobs seamlessly so it was overall a great experience.

Welwyn and her Team did an outstanding job in planning and overseeing our small urban backyard project. She took our input and preferences and developed a unique, personalized layout; the end result being a peaceful oasis in the middle of our city neighbourhood. I have had the honour of working with Welwyn Wong for over 10 years. I first met Welwyn after being hired by a homeowner to complete one of WWLD plans for a backyard makeover. Welwyn Wong was highly recommended to me by friends who have had beautiful works done in their gardens. From first consultation to the construction and picking the plants and rocks to final planting in July and August, the transformation of my front and backyards into pleasing gardens was professionally executed. I am impressed with the details and advice I received for modifications I had wanted for the existing patio and features, and at how swiftly and efficiently her team and contractors completed the projects. I personally learned so much from the experience of meeting each other's ideas halfway, from blueprint to ground implementation.
