We had a wonderful experience with MasterPLAN! Josh and Joe met with us in person and helped to create a 3D rendering of what the project would look like before starting. This was awesome to see their vision and if we wanted to change anything beforehand. My favorite part of working with them was definitely the constant communication throughout the process. Joe was frequently on site to answer questions and always made us a part of the process. Hats off to Becky Z. as well, who was always lightning fast returning messages, keeping us updated on when people would arrive at our house, and when various aspects of the project were about to be underway. Our experience with MasterPlan couldn’t have been better! The team was able to take our backyard ideas and turn them into more than we could have imagined. Joe and Becky’s responsiveness to all of our questions was above and beyond. The 3-D visuals they were able to provide throughout the design helped us quickly make decisions and helped us to visualize what could be. In the end, the backyard was so much more than we imagined and we are so happy.

Had an initial consult with Josh who talked with us about our wants/needs/wishes for the backyard space. Quickly thereafter we had several meetings with Joe who walked us through their designs and any revisions. It has been great working with MasterPlan in reimagining our backyard as well as develop plans for our property into the future. They make it easy to see what could be, consult every step of the way and implement a worry free/professional process. We are thrilled with the final product of our 1st phase and can’t wait to spend more time outdoors enjoying.

We were excited when we moved into our circa 1900 farmhouse, with a vision to update the property with exterior painting and updated landscaping. As part of our own creative design, we repurposed a large chicken coop into a fun recreational space, adding a deck to give us suitable seating space. We often gathered around a makeshift fire pit (campground variety) on cool evenings - which was in great need of improvement once the coop was upgraded. We realized we had a challenge in creating a welcoming outdoor space in our yard, which goes uphill, and we needed help in planning. The folks at MasterPlan Outdoor Living are simply the best. Josh and Joe came out and spent quality time to understand our goals and priorities. We were blown away by the first graphic representation of their plan for a patio with a fire pit and adjacent hot tub, and after a few tweaks here and there, we agreed upon and proceeded with Phase I of our backyard transformation. Importantly, the MP team checked in with us regularly to assure our satisfaction. The craftsmanship is impeccable, resulting in a beautiful space to gather with family and friends for years to come. My husband and I knew we wanted to expand the existing concrete around our in ground pool and “eventually” add a storage area, a bar, and a hot tub. Josh and his team at Masterplan made all of that become a reality sooner than we even thought it could! During the design phase, they worked very closely with us to make sure the design was exactly what we wanted. Communication was key throughout the whole project. Becky and Joe made sure to get information on every detail to match the fence and siding that we already had before the project even started. We also got weekly email updates from Becky to let us know what would be accomplished the following week. Josh and Joe were very responsive to any questions or concerns we had at any time. The contractors that Masterplan uses are extremely detail-oriented and the amazing quality of their work was obvious in every step. Overall, we had a great experience working with Masterplan and we love our new outdoor living area!

Josh at MasterPlan turned out to be a savior for house and sanity. Long story short, he designed and executed one of the most spectacular outdoor living environments we have ever seen. The long story:Our house was purchased without any sort of outdoor living space. We initially endeavored to hire a local contractor (not Josh) to build a rather expensive screened in porch. We settled on the cheapest bid to build the porch. From the get-go, this other contractor was out of his league. He quit after being caught concealing negligent work. The inspector later failed his work on everything from the footers, substructure, posts, rafters, roof and wrong type of fasteners. At this point, we were distraught. A friend recommended Josh at MasterPlan since he had designed and built their outdoor space. From the get-go, Josh was open and honest. The entire prior project had to be scrapped. But honestly, that was the best thing that could have happened. We started the design process with Josh from scratch. He was able to assess our needs and desires for the space. It turns out we didn't even know all the options and possibilities.Our final design for the screened in porch was significantly more open than we thought possible. It had an incorporated grill island, huge phantom screens, sound system and smart lighting. The paver patio section had a built-in firepit and excellent landscaping. Josh took all of our requests in stride. He worked with all subs to ensure a painless experience for us. The work:The onsite crew was impeccable. We have never seen such a hard working crew...ever. From the moment of arrival around 7:15, they worked hard and non-stop in literally freezing conditions. The foreman, Danny, was always willing to answer our questions. The crew treated our property, and even our kids, with respect. The space was kept as clean as possible for a construction site. The MO of their work was to do it right. I saw them make revisions as necessary to achieve the best possible aesthetic and function. I used to dread calling the previous contractor for any issues and questions...and usually could not reach him for days at a time. Josh was quite the opposite. Questions and communication were always welcomed. He answered my phone calls regularly (or would shoot back a quick text that he was in a meeting and would call in 30-60 mins). Becky is the master coordinator behind the scenes. She would always provide reminders and heads-up emails to know what to expect the coming week or for various one off scenarios. She is always quick to address any questions sent her way. Final thoughts:Investing in our property with Josh at MasterPlan was one of the best decisions we have made. Josh made the process from start to finish as painless and as smooth as possible. Our finished project has received compliments from everyone who has visited. It has redefined how we use our house and property. I would recommend him without reservation for any outdoor project.

We cannot say enough great things about MasterPlan and the whole team. From start to finish they were attentive and professional. The detailed workmanship is unlike anything we have had before, and with the current situation we watched the new patio build from start to finish. When we met Josh we had no idea what we were going to do with our back yard, he was the first to bring it to life and in two phases to keep in line with our budget. Cannot wait for phase II.

Our experience with MasterPlan started after my husband and I decided we needed to redo our patio and replace it with a new one. We had a sense of what we wanted to do with the space but wanted to work with someone that could help us envision a more integrated living space. We did some research and found MasterPlan through the Lehigh Valley Builders Associated website. We were very impressed with the before and after pictures of the highlighted projects and testimonials of MasterPlan clients so we scheduled an appointment with Josh. The first meeting was very eye-opening to the endless possibilities of transforming our space. It was a little overwhelming but Josh was able to ask us some simple questions about what we wanted and offered ideas for structure, materials and flow of space we never considered. Josh took that information and created a transformation video of what our project would look like when completed and we were blown away. It was a very collaborative and interactive process to finalize the details before the project officially started. The communication during the project was terrific and Josh and Becky kept us informed as to work schedule and when our presence or further input was required. They managed every last detail and made the process completely seamless for us. The coordination between the various crews involved in the project was choreographed to perfection. The crews who were onsite were extremely professional, showed up when you expected them and did impeccable work. Watching the transformation was so exciting and every day we could not wait to get home to see what happened from one day to the next. The end product was EXACTLY like the original video Josh created for us including the plants used, exact placement of the various elements and every other detail he walked through with us in our proposal. We are so excited about our new outdoor space that Josh and his team designed for us. We would recommend MasterPlan without reservation for your outdoor transformation.

My husband and I could not be more pleased with the job MasterPLAN did in creating a beautiful outdoor living space in our backyard. What originally began as a simple idea to build a patio under our existing deck evolved into the creation of an amazing outdoor space where our family can enjoy spending time together all year long. Josh was great to work with through every step of the project, from the initial design to the final walkthrough as well as setting up our property maintenance plan. He is a true professional and the team he has to support him is no different.
