Having grown up in the wooded hills of New Jersey, Helen developed a lifelong love of plants and the outdoors. She went on to study Environmental Sciences and Botany, pursuing careers in Environmental Education and Horticulture before starting her own landscape design business. Helen approaches all projects from the ground up using organic, sustainable practices. Whether it is a classical design, a patio for entertaining or a natural landscape, Helen and her team will design a landscape that will give you a reason to linger a little longer in your own piece of paradise. From the first meeting to the final installation, and from future maintenance requirements to future projects, her team is there for you.

From design to completion, we will tailor the landscape to fit your needs and desires. We draw upon the art and science of creating enjoyable outdoor spaces using proper horticultural techniques and organic practices. A personal consultation will start the process. There is a consultation fee for this 1-1.5 hr visit where we explore the options and possibilities of your landscape.

My hillside garden was a challenge for several reasons. The soil was disturbed by the construction of a new septic system, it is in the middle of a forest and I insisted on all native plants. Helen overcame all of these problems creatively and without the use of chemicals. She enhanced the soil with biochar to restore the forest duff that had previously carpeted the area and mulched the extensive plantings of native shrubs, trees and perennials with shredded leaf mulch. The result is a magical meandering meadow with a display of color for three seasons and abuzz with the sounds of insects. It is a delight for birds, butterflies and the occasional human.

We have been working with Helen for years, ever since we hired her design expertise to turn a sloping hill of grass into a beautiful terraced flower garden. She took us through the design process through the rock wall installation and finally to the planting, always with a pleasant and patient smile. Her expertise in plants of our area has helped the garden continue to flourish. We have worked with her great team for yearly maintenance and are always impressed by their hard work and dedication to detail. We're saving for the next project with Helen!

Helen and her entire team are the definition of professionalism and passion. From the initial consultation, planning, payout and plant choices, through installation and then maintenance, Helen and her team of professionals are there for me. My garden faces a well traveled street with a lot of pedestrian foot traffic. The complements that I have been getting are effusive. I honestly take credit for only one thing...picking the right person to turn my plain lawn into a sustainable garden of plants specifically chosen to provide me with colorful specimens throughout the year.
