It may sound old fashioned, but we still believe the client comes first. As a family-owned company, Great Goats Landscaping has been making clients happy for over a decade. We’d appreciate the opportunity to work with you to beautify the landscape that you call home. At Great Goats Landscaping, the design process is a collaborative process. Owner and Designer Mike Olson meets with each client, personally, to gather information about the proposed project. Is there a problem that needs to be solved? What are our design goals? We discuss client landscaping likes and dislikes. The end result is a design that is beautifully unique to both the client and the site.

Complex retaining wall project. So happy with the project. Mike and crew did a wonderful job working with me to create a retaining wall to support a driveway as well as designed into it an in-ground basketball hoop. We get many compliments from the regular walkers in the neighborhood. Mike was responsive and easy to work with. The paving contractor changed the grade of the driveway, and we then had to unexpectedly make changes to the wall. Mike and Great Goats were great in extending the project, continuing to work with me to change and complete the project in a timely and cost effective manner. Would hire again.

Mike the owner is a complete hack. He was hired to create a French drain in my yard. After signing the contract I had to chase him down to schedule the work to be done. It was delayed again and again. Finally the crew came and started work. The digging was the done and then came the hard part for them. The crew did not know how to properly slope the drainage. They came to work at 9am started working at 10am when the foreman arrived and left for lunch at 12, came back at 1pm and then I get an angry call from Mike who claims I wasted their time and I was too "hands on" in my own back yard-making sure the work would be done right. Of course he was put of town so he couldn't sit it out face to face. He pulled the crew from the job at 1:30pm claiming that I "wasted their time" and cost him $600 in lost time. It took him another two weeks to meet me in an attempt too reach an agreement and finish the job and then another two weeks, after me chasing him on the phone, to try and shake me down for another $3000. This guy is a low quality landscaper and a lousy manager.

Nate Lunger

Great Goats did a phenomenal job on my retaining wall! Mike came out and checked out my existing wall and determined what the problem was that caused it to fail. He determined that I did not have the proper drainage and that is why it failed. He and his guys were very professional and completed everything on time and the cleanup was tremendous. While Great Goats is not the cheapest out there when it comes to retaining walls, they definitely are the best choice in the Twin Cities.
