Georgia Harper Landscape Design is a landscape design practice dedicated to working in collaboration with clients to achieve the most effective, engaging and lovely landscapes to live in. With projects ranging from small residential courtyards to large commercial developments, throughout Melbourne and Victoria, we work with our clients to achieve outstanding results unique to them and their needs. GHLD aims to help you create an outdoor space that will work well with your home and your lifestyle. Our philosophy is that good design is a great investment - and well-designed landscape enhances the value of your home as well as the quality of life you'll enjoy with a design that's customised for your tastes and way of life. It also ensures that it will thrive in the conditions specific to that site, and offer focal points of interest from within the building. Careful planning means that you know what you will be getting right from the start, how it will work, and will streamline construction process, minimising cost issues. Collaborative Landscape Design Practice - we offer 90 Minute Design Consultations, up to full scale Landscape Planning. For those with a longer-term view, we also offer staged plans that can be executed over time as needs and resources allow. We went to Georgia after not feeling "heard" by our first landscape design firm. Georgia was very fun to work with, but also (and importantly for us) she listened to us. Georgia was very professional throughout the process, and we are thrilled with the result. Some of her ideas (which we would have never considered) we have gone with (which are amazing!!), and importantly for us Georgia didn't try to change some really important ideas we had, she worked with us and we are so happy with the result. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Georgia to any client - big or small. We engaged Georgia for a high-end twin townhouse project in the inner East of Melbourne, and she completely nailed it.

We had this amazing idea in our minds just didn't know how to make it a reality. Then Georgia from GHLD came along and she was able to bring our "Oasis" come to life. Thank you is not enough Georgia for what you have done for us. You helped us make our St Leonards property in the Bellarine Peninsula a place we truly call "Heaven on Earth". The decking area, the pool area and the spa area are just simply perfect. Your attention to detail, your professionalism, your patience, your understanding and care were truly remarkable. Georgia took a lot of time to work with us to sculpt and work towards our vision but within constraints of the site, location and logistics. We had some firm ideas but it takes a skilled person to temper unrealistic desires into the best outcome. Different approach but the same objective was achieved, we now enjoy an amazing space that has added more than double (triple?) what we invested into it. Best of all we get to share this space with friends, family and of course G when she comes to visit.

Isla Carboon

We spotted Georgia's transformation of an urban rooftop in a magazine and thought "this is the designer for us". She met our brief of creating an additional living space out of our roof deck beautifully. Her design took into account the house design, the environment and our ideas and came up with a contemporary but timeless space that welcomes you to take time out of the everyday. One of special touches was the decking design which was perfectly realised by the wonderful builders she contracted for the job. Georgia is great to work with and coped very well we our changes of mind on things. We've already referred her to our neighbours who are delighted with her vision for their backyard.

My wife and I engaged Georgia at GHLD 10 years ago to design front and back yards and entertainment areas for our new home. A blank slate block with clay soil and only surrounding native bush. Georgia understood our desire and grasped our lifestyle quickly and delivered plans that made the most of our block, the slope, where the neighbours were and weather/solar patterns. Ten years on, our garden is a Sanctuary to us, and an envy of our neighbours, The plant types she chose built on the beauty of our surrounds, survived some of the most testing drought conditions and are now thriving. They provide shade, a haven for wildlife and a low maintenance sanctuary for our family and pets. We wouldn't have had that forward thinking vision, but have learned so much from her design and tuition. We often still sit on the deck with a wine admiring our native garden and wildlife and think, "Gee that placement/choice/technique was clever".

Georgia came highly recommended by a friend and she didn't disappoint. We had a vision but were not able to achieve it by ourselves and were starting to make costly mistakes along the way. Georgia's ideas brought our vision together including the creation of spaces that we didn't think were possible. Her plan was right on brief- to design a functional, beautiful and low maintenance outdoor space that our family can enjoy for years to come. She did so in a way that was thorough, efficient and respectful to our budget. I look forward to seeing her plan come to fruition over the coming months.

Georgia was really easy to work with. She took her time to survey the tragedy of our existing areas then prompted us for specific things we wanted to achieve from a renovation. There were then a few rough sketches to talk over before she produced the final drawings and specifications. The result, essentially is, two more "rooms" are now part of the house albeit they don't have roofs. Melbourne weather permitting we now actually not only go into our outside areas, but really enjoy it when we do.

Georgia was recommended to us by our landscaper as we were planning a renovation to our back garden and existing (dated) pool. From the moment we met Georgia it was clear that she had an amazing vision and created a design that suited our family's needs perfectly. When asked if a spa could built into the existing pool, (we had asked several before her), Georgia was the first person to answer 'yes' and she helped to bring that dream to fruition for us. She was very quick to supply us with plans and samples of pavers etc. which meant the job could start promptly. Georgia's plans were so detailed that we even had instructions on the best way to maintain the garden after completion! The space that Georgia envisioned for us has come to life beautifully and we could not be happier. Thank you Georgia Harper.

GHLD has come up with an amazing design for our growing family that we could have never thought of. Georgia provided a professional and personal service, establishing an easy rapport and insight to how our family wanted to use the backyard space. A hand drawn, detailed concept that met our brief was provided within the initial consultation. Needless to say, we asked Georgia to work these concepts up to a scale plan with specifications for quotation stage. The end result has reflected exactly what we wanted and has added an aesthetic appeal to our garden. The functionally of the design has exceed our expectations - we have recommended Georgia to many of our friends.

GHLD have completed a number of landscape designs for some of our projects, and we couldn't have asked for more. From a design perspective, GHLD were quick to pick up the clients brief, and used this well to create some beautiful Landscape designs. From a Customer Service perspective, 10 out of 10 is my rating.
