Kim did a great job on our design incorporating and providing great ideas on how to best utilize the space while making sure it met the Localscapes requirements. I love the book on how to care for the plants included in the design as well as other plants that could be used in place of hard to find plants.

Kim immediately had a lot of great ideas for my backyard! She even had some ideas that I didn't even think were a possibility. She tried to envision a space that would be great for adults and kids to have fun. She was able to create detailed blueprints and make a lot of great suggestions for plants.

We asked Kim to design our backyard to maximize the view, attract bees, butterflies and birds, and be water wise. Her design knocked it out of the park. So much color, texture and variety in the plants that were chosen. She included with the plan a document with images and information on every single plant she included, which was very helpful in visualizing what it will look like. We will be implementing the plan next summer and I cannot wait to enjoy it.

Kim was absolutely wonderful-especially with her yard recommendations for wheelchair accessibility. Our young daughter uses a wheelchair to move around outside, and our yard made it impossible to access our outdoor activities such as the tramp, the play structure, and just playing in the main area with everyone else. My husband and I have thrown a few ideas around but we really didn't know where to start or what was even out there. Kim helped us develop a realistic landscape plan for our daughter to be able to access our entire yard with her wheelchair! Low maintenance, reduction of water use, and preventing flooding into the basement were also concerns and she was able to address them. I needed a complete re-do of my yard so I could stay in my home and be able to care for the yard. We had Kim come take a look at our yard to help us create a plan for our landscape. We have a massive front yard with too much grassy area. Our backyard is smaller and a bit odd shaped. Kim created a great plan to fit our needs and wants. She is a great listener, and asked a lot of questions to make sure she understand what we were envisioning. She offered great advice on placement to keep the design flow in a practical yet beautiful way. This was our first experience with a professional landscaper. We didn't know what to expect, so were delighted to have such a good experience. As our yard has limited sunlight, we were worried about what plants would flourish. Kim was so in tune with our needs and concerns and knew exactly what to recommend and why. We were delighted with her suggestions, the clear and concise design plan, the quick turnaround time, and the fair and reasonable pricing. Kim is terrific! She came out to our house and did a walk-around with us. She is very good about understanding what we want and how it will work with the formats we have. She is able to expand or create additional formats, but we wanted to stick with our existing footprint, but optimize it with more volume and color. Kim made an AMAZING landscape design for us! We are so excited to implement it once the builder is finished with the house. I was impressed with how quickly Kim got a feel for the style, feel, and functionality we were hoping for in our yard. She tastefully combined all our ideas into a seamless flow from one area of the yard to another. At the beginning we met at the lot and talked about some of the problem areas that we didn't know how to address, such as walkway placement and style, stairway issues, vehicle access needs etc. She gave us a survey to learn about our goals and tastes and had us send pictures of elements that we liked. We let her know that we wanted fruit trees, a garden, liked conifers and plant variety, and natural flowing contours for plant beds and such. We also told her that there were a lot of gaps in our vision and that she could surprise us with plants that she thought would combine well with our tastes. And then... the concept plan that she first presented blew our minds! The plants and descriptions and beauty of it all was so fun to go through. We soaked it in a few days and then met again to go over little tweaks. The final design was STUNNING. Hundreds of plants and features mapped with dimensions and specifications for each element in the yard. She provided us with tips to implement, and in what order, and gave us an idea of what it would take to maintain these plants. One good thing - aside from a yard designed for beauty and utility, she also designed it to be relatively low maintenance. In addition to Kim's excellent eye for design and utility, she is knowledgeable about which plants will thrive and where. She is well versed in permaculture, and she places plants together that not only look great together, but actually support each other symbiotically. For example she placed flowers that attract the right kind of pollinators for our fruiting plants, and other plants that attract insects that eat pests that are common for those flowering plants, etc. The design came with a list of the plants and quantity of each called for and helped us develop a strategy for budgeting the process out for two or three years. She provided names of contractors that she liked and told us what we would need to tell them to make sure the job is done correctly. She is also willing to get competing bids for you if you're ready for that. One thing I like about working with Kim is that, even though she's an expert and bounds with great ideas, she helped us sort through our own ideas in a validating way and helped us consider the pros and cons of different options. She was good at prioritizing our goals. She encouraged us to have things the way we wanted them and then showed us how to do it in a nice looking way, considerate of cost and maintenance, and making sure our other priorities weren't compromised. From start to finish, my expectations were surpassed, and I'm so glad we were referred to Kim at Eden's Garden Design. -Taylor

Kim designed our outdoor space with all our needs in mind and I know the finished landscape will be just as beautiful as it is functional. We're doing most of the work ourselves, so I knew we would need a clear plan that we could implement in pieces over the next couple years. I'm so excited to get started this spring! Kim absolutely rocks! We challenged her to create a yard design that would evoke the Scottish Highlands, and she absolutely delivered. Her design is incredible, and her knowledge of plants and what would survive/thrive at our elevation was incredibly helpful. Bonus: she studied in Scotland! I met Kim through a Continuing Education course she teaches at the U and reached out to her to do a design for our disaster of a front and backyard. She came over to see the location and we talked about all the things we liked/didn't like/wished for and she came up with an amazing version of it on paper! It was such a detailed plan I had it blown up to 3'x4' at FedEx just to see all the things included on there. Then, she introduced us to a landscaper who could make it all happen...made some final revisions and now we're ready to go this fall. We won't be fully planted till Spring but are thrilled with our plan. Taking what we want from just hearing us talk and making it actionable on paper for a landscaper was an amazing feat and the price she charges for this is incredible. Kim listened to our goals for re-doing our yard, then came up with a novel and eloquent landscape design for us. We've begun implementing her design and can't wait to enjoy the beautiful space when it is completed in the Spring!

I learned about Kim's work from an online course on trees and later when I took other gardening-related courses from Red Butte Gardens. She seemed very knowledgeable, easy to communicate with and answered student questions in a way that non-master gardeners could understand. When we decided to do some things in our yard beyond the occasional bulb or hosta, I emailed Kim on a whim, not knowing she had a design business! She came out to our house, listened to our sometimes vague and random ideas and was able to translate that into a plan that incorporated some xeriscape, some vegetable garden and a mix of other things. The drawings are very professional. We could hand them to a landscaper and it would be clear what goes where, which is one of the skills we lacked. She did not include plants that will not do well in Utah and I knew from taking her classes that she had a good understanding about soil types, watering, and sun requirements. We also ideas about seating and she including both of those in the plans so we could choose or do both. We have done both exterior and interior work to our house and found Kim to be one of the most competent, honest and transparent design/contractor folks we've worked with!!

Her process is very thorough; I couldn't believe how much she could tell us about our yard and current plants/trees just by walking around the property with us for a while. Started working with Kim a few months ago, wanted a waterwise landscape design for our new construction small home lot (.17 acres). Kim thought of everything! I answered some questions in email and sent her a lot plan. By the time we met a week or so later she already had a first draft design for us. So complete and thorough, took into consideration everything we asked about, from how to attract butterflies in the front to protecting our valley view in the back. Very reasonable pricing as well. And if that’s not enough, she has been available since then as we have had questions about implementing her plan. Working with Kim has been a fantastic experience and we would heartily recommend her to anyone.

Eden's Garden Design have is a beautiful layout with our yard. We have many features in our yard that were 40 years old and needing replacement. She helped us with a new design, plant requirements to help us with long term maintenance and even put us in contact with contractors so we can outsource the work.

I hired Kim to develop some plans for my front and back yard, we are need of a serious overhaul! Kim was extremely knowledgeable about the type of plants I was looking for. Kim in an outstanding landscape designer. We constructed a new home and she provided the plans with placement of all of the landscaping and hardscaping. Not only did Kim provide a plan that perfectly captured the style we were going for in our yard, she provided details of how to care for the plants and where to plant everything. In fact, I paid a little extra to have Kim come shopping for all of the plants/trees/shrubs and then to place them exactly where they should go in our yard (I would highly recommend doing this). Every single item we planted has survived the last two years and the yard in flourishing. I have recommended Kim to at least 10 family members and friends as the value she brings for the prices she charges is the best I have ever seen. Two thumbs up.

As we built our home we dreamed of our backyard oasis, on clay/rock soil, and she helped design exactly that. Kim was able to combine the very different ideas my husband and I had and come up with a few options that we then molded into something we could both agree on. What I love about her is how much thought and effort she went through to design this. She's very knowledgeable and was able to identify which plants and trees would thrive in our yard, going as far as to take into consideration the way the wind blew in our neighborhood. Once our house was done being built and we settled in, our budget changed, suddenly our yard was sloped, and we needed to make some changes to the plan. We hired Kim Eden to help us with some changes to our landscaping. She was very knowledgeable and took the time needed to understand what we wanted and to offer recommendations. The plan she provided was very comprehensive and provides us with a great template to begin making improvements to our yard. We hired Kim Eden of Eden's Garden Design to help us with the design element of a front and back yard project. We live up on the bench and really didn't want a highly manicured "man made" look but one where the natural landscape blended with our property. That is not to say there aren't man made outdoor room elements such as a firepit , a dining space, a stream water feature, and a "living room", but the connectivity and flow from element to element will feel as if from nature. She was able to not only understand our wishes but also run with it. She was hired because of her terrific knowledge of plants and trees, particularly indigenous, and the fact that she really listened to our needs. She came up with several choices of plans as well as a very in-depth planting guide. We found her very easy to work with, responded to communication quickly, was very thoughtful, and very reasonable from a cost perspective. I also know that while this natural look may not be something everyone desires she is very adaptable and if a more architectural look is desired she can do that too. Kim may not be as well known a name in the architectural landscaping design business as others but she will be. I highly recommend her. We have the designs but the project itself will complete in spring of '20.

Hiring Eden is one of the best decisions we have ever made. She was knowledgeable, helped us design and plan a dream backyard with our own ideas- and ones that we hadn’t even thought of. The plans are detailed and SO SO helpful in working with the different contractors and in knowing what decisions we need to make now in arriving to our future design. Highly highly recommend.

Kim's design for my small yard is awesome! She was diligent in suggesting appropriate greenery and plants for a difficult terrain and for my style. She responded quickly to my suggestions and her designs were intelligent and well considered. Additionally, she is quick! I heard back from her within days, which was unexpected, and her price was incredibly reasonable considering the thought she put into the project.

Kim Eden is a creative and talented professional. Her knowledge of landscape design and plant life is impressive. Not only did she include everything I wanted in my yard design, but she also had additional suggestions that I had never imagined. Kim designed a yard plan for our home that has nothing but rocks and weeds. In a very short time from the time we gave her pictures and measurements of our property, she returned three different concept plans to choose from that included everything on our wish list. We picked and selected things we liked about each one, and then returned them to her. Now we have detailed drawing of where to put everything along with a myriad of plant, tree, and shrub choices that will thrive in my climate. I can't wait to get started! Kim is quick, creative and professional. I highly recommend her for your landscape design!

Kim came to assess our landscape situation a few weeks ago. I was absolutely humbled and amazed at her skill, her love of the land, and the beautiful detail she offered us in how to care and plan for the future. Our half acre is full of 30 year old trees, and we are hoping to keep the integrety of the original landscaping while working with trees that have aged out. Kim was thoughtful, knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommended.

Kim was very easy to work with. She is a great listener and provided plenty of ideas for my space. I would highly recommend working with Kim as her plans are exactly what my bare yard are in need of. Kim is fantastic. She listened to what I wanted for my yard and made a plan that was exactly what I asked for. I have since had her come back a couple of times for consultations on steps to execute the plan as well as help with struggling trees and plants. It’s much better than having a company who treats or services these things as she has no need to suggest unnecessary work or treatment. I would highly recommend using a horticulturist for landscape design and diagnosis of issues and Kim was the best one I talked to.

Kim designed the landscaping for our new yard, and we couldn't be happier with her work. After spending an hour walking through our property with us, she made 3 separate design boards and let us pick and choose which elements we liked most. Kim is very knowledgeable of all plants, trees, grasses, ground covers etc. for the Intermountain area. She works both at Red Butte Garden and Thanksgiving Point along with her design business. I think this is why she is so knowledgeable. Kim gave us three different designs for the different areas of our yard. We picked the ones we liked and she sent a detailed report and description of the plants we chose. She also came out a second time to be sure we understood her design and has agreed to allow us to tap her knowledge as we begin our project.

Kim from Eden's Garden Design was great to work with. She came to our house and spent time talking with us about what we wanted in our yard. As she worked on our landscape design she consulted with us further about our preferences. Then she provided us with a plan that is easy to understand, with plants that are easily available in our area. She did all this for a reasonable price. I am so happy with our experience.
