The team did an amazing job beautifying our existing waterfall. It came out looking better than we could have imagined.

We hired Blessing to completely redesign our front and back yards, including removal and replacement of the existing front and back wooden decks, construction of a paver patio in the backyard, and removal of the old landscaping and implementation of the new landscaping. We wanted to go with a low maintance design, with no grass, and with drought-resistant non-invasive species, very loosely inspired by aspects of traditional Japanese gardens. We also had four existing trees in the backyard we wanted to preserve and integrate into the new landscape. They also offered to do lighting and irrigation installs but we did not pursue those services. Overall we are happy with the design and implementation. We had one meeting to look at the yard and explain what we wanted, received a design from Blessing, and did one round of complimentary revisions (mostly just changing some of the specific plants - and up to two revisions are included for free). Blessing does not do any wooden deck work themselves, but they subcontracted the deck work so we didn't have to deal with a separate contractor, and project managed everything for us as one project. The crew they hired to do the new deck (and demo the old deck) did a great job. I don't recall if our paver patio was done by Blessing directly or also subcontracted to a third party, but that turned out very nice as well. We did have a couple hiccups in the project. First, our contract with Blessing stated the deck would be stained, but there was some miscommunication between Blessing and the deck subcontractor, who did not include deck staining in their contract (and in fact does not provide that service). However, in the end Blessing covered all additional and unexpected costs related to bringing in an additional contractor to stain the front and back decks, who did a great job, and I think speaks very well for the integrity of Blessing as a company. After the landscaping as installed, we also found some plants were missing, including some large plants like 3' tall pencil bushes and 6' tall vine maples. I don’t really know how that happens, and I wasn't pleased that we had to find this for ourselves and it was not detected by Blessing, but when we contacted them about it they did make it right fairly quickly and without any kind of argument, including locating and installing the missing plants, and relocating some plants that were in the wrong place, and throwing in a few free plantings as well. They were very responsive throughout the whole process, from design to completion of implementation, so we never felt left in the dark or like we didn't know they would complete the project. So in summary, I would say the implementation phase could definitely have been a bit more organized and gone a bit more smoothly, but at the end of the day we’re very happy with the design and with the final implementation, so it all worked out, and Blessing was easy to work with throughout. Despite the hiccups we mentioned I would still recommend Blessing, as the overall experience was good, and the final product looks great!

The designer and I cooperated on the design of our front garden and 2 revisions were included in the price - which was half what I was prepared to pay to another designer. I only needed one revision. I loved the variety of plants the designer used and he really listened to what I wanted. The installation crew were fabulous - hard-working and efficient. The hard scape they put in is perfect. Paths and boulders look spectacular, as does our refreshed swale. They worked on a very wet and nasty day to put these elements in. There was a small mix-up over plants - our project was done in winter and some plants weren't available. Last-minute substitutions led to confusion, but when I brought this up, credit was issued at once with no questions asked. We will be using Blessing Landscapes again to design our back garden.

We've worked with Blessing Landscape on two projects over the last couple of years. They did some hardscaping for us and also took out an old water feature. In each case, we got a highly detailed proposal that honed in on our key goals and showed us exactly what we were paying for so that expectations were set appropriately. The crews that worked on each project were professional, knowledgeable and efficient. The project costs were very competitive and they've honored their product warranties. We would highly recommend the company.

Hi Jesse, Just a quick note to say “thank you” for the wonderful work your team did landscaping our yard. Stacy’s mom passed away this spring and her garden was one of her joys. We decided to use some of her inheritance to landscape our yard in her honor and memory. Roger put together a fabulous design that clearly reflected that he was listening to our desires. Throughout the project he was responsive to our questions and helped us with a few changes along the way. Ruben did a great job supervising the crew on site and making sure we were happy at every stage. Most of all I want to commend the guys who had their hands on the shovels. Euclides, Mariano, and Eddie were the three who were on site most often. They worked hard, respected our home and our neighborhood, and cleaned up each day. But more important, it was obvious they cared about their work and that it was done properly and to our satisfaction. Just one short example. Toward the very end of the project they were getting ready to install new sod. Mariano noticed that the type of sod that arrived in the order was different from the existing grass at our property. We might not have noticed until the grass was already installed, but he knew right away. So he called Ruben, and Ruben called Roger, and he called me to let me know they’d have the correct grass on site the next day. Thanks again, and please extend our thanks to your entire team.

This company was very personable and professional. They took the time to understand what it is we were looking for in a landscape design and never tried to "sell" us something we didn't need. The work crew worked really hard, cleaned up at the end of each day, and completed the job even more efficiently that we expect. I highly recommend them.

I worked with Jesse, the owner and Rebecca their designer. They came up with a great plan for my yard both front and back. It was a complete removal of all the grass areas and a transformation into a beautiful, low maintenance yard with beautiful gravel paths, a dry stone river and so many beautiful plants. In a word, outstanding!!! If you are thinking of hiring a full service landscaping team, you should stop thinking and call these folks. They provide outstanding work and very fair pricing, particularly given the quality of their work. My wife and I wanted to update our unattractive entryway and front yard in our 1920's home and found this team on Houzz. We were impressed by their reviews and so we thought we'd give them a chance to bid on the job. From the outset, we realized we had the right match for all of our needs. In our initial discussions with Ilene we were impressed by how well she listened to our interests and how carefully she scoped out the project with us. Rebecca then took over for the design. Her design is an amazing combination of colors, shapes, sizes and textures laying out not only the landscaping but also the new porch, pathways, and raised beds. The plants she suggested and the hardscape materials are just perfect. Gilberto did a great job laying out the new porch and his work with the natural stone facing is one of the many highlights. Luis and the gentleman who worked with him did outstanding work on the remaining hardscape and landscaping. They worked hard, were very focused on doing a good job, and always left the place in good order at the end of each day. My wife and I are in the process of updating a home in NE Portland. We have worked with many contractors over the past 5 years. This is the first time when, for a walkthrough, I asked my wife for her list of things she didn't like or wanted changed and the list was empty. I think it speaks to the team's listening skills, attention to details and their landscaping/hardscape skills. The did all the landscape, hardscape, irrigation, and lighting work to the highest levels. All the employees were great to work with. Thanks to Ilene, Rebecca, Luis, Gilberto, Emily, Daniel and all of Jesse's team who have taken our house and given it an inviting, warm front to make it a welcoming home. Sales person who surveyed the job did lots of consulting with her technical crew and ended up suggesting an elegant solution that reduced my costs and produced a better outcome. Work was done on time, professionally, neatly.

Rebecca Smith was our designer and awakened our 18 year old front yard with both fresh ideas and very clever up-cycling of current features (she was interested in helping us save money where we could). She had great vision for our very small back yard which now houses a stone fireplace we never thought we ever could have. The two man team that did all the work were exceptionally talented. These to men had all the skills necessary to do everything from heavy digging and planting to lighting and irrigation and stone work. They cleaned up every day and were a delight to have around. They personally cared about our job and the result is evident, they thought of details we had not anticipated. We will be recommending Blessing landscapes to neighbors and friends.

I recently had my backyard completely redone by Blessing Landscape. From the design phase, where Jesse listened to all my wishes, to the final product, I couldn't be happier. Blessing Landscape was hired to do a complete makeover in my back garden. It is a small garden and had a rotten wood deck that was unsafe. Jesse Brough, the owner and who is very personable and easy to work with, started with a sketch based on our wishes that was revised just a little. The final results are amazing! A curving walkway coming from the side of the house and through the center of the area up to a beautifully situated paver patio leaves plenty of room for shrubs and flowering plants on either side. The garden is restful and calming, and a delight to the eyes. I sincerely recommend Jesse and Blessing Landscape for their professionalism, attention to detail, and a wonderful crew who left the garden very tidy and clean at the end of each day. It was a joy to watch the new garden unfold and the crew chief was very courteous and accommodating. This was a wonderful experience for us and we are very pleased with Blessing Landscape's work.

We hired "Blessing Landscape" for a complete makeover on our front and back yard. The owner of the company, Jesse, met with us on more then one occasion to discuss the possibilitys of our vision. The entire job took one month to complete. Two members of his crew, Luis and Jose were the backbone of this project. Everything was well coordinated, from the dropping off of the pavers, crushed rock and compost, to the irrigation installation to the delivery of the trees. Luis was in control of the project and saw that every aspect was carried out to perfection. Luis is a craftsman and a visionary. We have used blessing landscapes for several landscape projects. Jesse was able to turn our dreams into reality with a complete backyard project. The last project included a complete paver patio with walk ways, a beautiful water feature, irrigation system, perfect planting layout and a lighting package that allows us to enjoy the beautiful space anytime we wish. The entire backyard was taken out and replaced with the new design. The flow and function was done to perfection. The unique design options that were offered as well as the space planning made the project beautiful and efficient. We were presented with plans and a work schedule. The work was completed on schedule and the crew was great to work with. Created a staycation! We never want to leave the backyard.

I saw the Blessing van drive past me and I saw it as a sign when later that day my sprinkler system burst. That was about 1.5 years ago. I called and Jesse was awesome in coming out to the house and soon after it was fixed! This year I had a broken sprinkler head that my 'current' landscapers had broken. They had been so unprofessional in past situations and I knew it was time to let them go. Blessing guys came out and repaired sprinkler head and filled sinkhole and my yard looks complete again. I have now hired them for ongoing maintenance. I'm excited for this new professional relationship!

Blessing Landscapes does our monthly landscaping service for our townhome community of 18 units. They do a good job and are consistent in the quality of work.

Blessings has done multiple projects for us and will be the people we call for any landscaping jobs in the future! Our projects have been what I'd consider mid-size residential projects. For our first project we had three companies give us quotes and we found their prices to be competitive. The quality of work and customer service has been 5 stars across the board. They are punctual, extremely friendly and Jesse (the owner) and his entire back office and labor crew seem like good, trustworthy people. Can't say enough good things.

They were excellent. Jesse evaluated the poor drainage situation on my rear patio and decided a dry well of sufficient capacity would be the solution. The two workers showed up on time, worked nonstop, and were respectful. Jesse came out to review their work, and directed that the finish level of the job needed to be lower to be more efficient. The removed the materials, and did as he said. Luckily, a very heavy rain pour occurred a week later (even though it was July in Portland when it never rains), and the patio flooded, as if the dry well wasn't there. Jesse came out, sized up the problem (heavy amount of sheet flow from the oversized driveway was pouring into the patio from above), and came up with a solution. He apologized for not anticipating the issue, and had the workers correct it, at no extra cost. Couldn't be happier with that. Highly recommend Blessing Landscape for their professionalism.

After having a backyard ravaged by large fallen trees from a windstorm, Jesse provided creative, thoughtful and affordable advice as to how to remediate and further improve the yard. Once awarded the contract, his team was pleasant, prompt and efficient. We could not have more pleased with the result and the whole experience. On top of that Jesse's approach and personality exudes integrity and inspires trust. I would not hesitate to call on his services again or recommend to others.

They designed a new backyard using our pool and 50 year old rhododendron and created a private and peaceful space. It was a big project including irrigation and many contractors. The whole process was managed very well and good communication throughout. End result is that we could not be happier.

Our challenge was dealing with an older water feature in our back yard. The creek that runs through it also provides drainage for the hill above our property during wet seasons, and the creek was eroding badly toward our poured concrete staircase. Jesse did an excellent job of assessing the condition of the entire feature, and recommending a course of action for mitigation of erosion, while improving the aesthetics of the creek. Blessing's work included significant earth movement to alter the creek path, and haul-in of stone through difficult access. The work was completed as promised, on time, and we are very happy with the appearance and functionality of the end product.

Our landscaping was a mess and needed a fresh look. Jesse from Blessing Landscapes gave us the ideas for the project and plantings and we love it. We actually kept adding on more to the job because what they were doing looked so great. They are professional and get right back to you when you have questions.
