Amos & Duarte is run by Alison Amos & Marco Duarte. We combine 'know how' with 'can do'. Alison has 10 years experience in garden design and is from a horticulture background so she knows her plants! Marco has been building and landscaping for 20 years so brings a wealth of practical knowledge and is a complete perfectionist! We aim to create a garden that grows up beautifully and we pride ourselves on honesty, quality and craftsmanship. Design: This initially involves a site visit and chat with you to discuss what you want and to share instincts options and ideas. Following this we work on a variety of ideas as hand drawn sketches/concepts. This gives you the freedom to comment and be more involved. From here we create a final design layout and planting plan. The Build: We cover all aspects of garden construction including the hard and soft landscaping. Marco and the team will lay the patio, deck, build fences, walls and be responsible for all the build side. Alison and the team will lay any turf and will be responsible for all the planting and muddy side of job. We project manage the build and pride ourselves on quality and craftsmanship. The Aftercare: When the van pulls away, we don’t just leave you with a garden growing into it’s potential. You will have a set of simple to follow after-care guides that Alison will chat you through to make sure the garden you dreamed of stays on course and looks its best - with you at the helm. Alison is also happy to offer quarterly maintenance. Feel free to contact us to find more about our process and availability for 2020.

Ali and Marco did a fabulous job with my small garden space. I wanted a garden which was modern, bright and welcoming with not too much maintenance and I wanted it to look lovely for years to come. 4 years on and the space is as lovely as it was when it was first designed, if not more so, now the plants have matured.

Amos and Duarte have been fantastic to work with , so much so we used them to do our front garden and some of our back garden including laying a patio. They are professional and friendly and we have been delighted with the results. Highly recommended.

Amos Duarte recently updated my back garden to a very high standard. They replaced all the fencing, built a new wall, re-designed the garden, and then landscaped and re-planted. I am very pleased with the result. They accommodated all the extra requests that I made whilst the work was being undertaken, and kept me informed me of all activity and progress whilst I was away from home for some time. I found them to be very trustworthy and would thoroughly recommend them.

Ali is just fabulous! From the outset she understood just what it was that we were hoping to create in our garden and came to us with ideas and plans to ensure that we worked collaboratively to achieve our goal. She is vibrant and creative and a pleasure to work with. She and her team were efficient, courteous and tidy and created something really quite special for us. Over the last few months our garden has been like an extra room and has brought us so much pleasure. Ali was realistic about our price range and worked to our budget and consulted us on the items that were more expensive giving us options and cost alternatives. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Amos & Duarte undertook a major redesign of our garden and patio in Winter 2018. The existing patio plus the remnants of a 2nd WW bunker had to be dug up and dismantled, not an easy job. The new patio was laid down working to our design; the outcome was first class. The garden too was redesigned with new beds and turfing of the lawn. The whole project took the best part of 3/4 months (inclement weather did not help at times). A&D were efficient, time aware, cost conscious and very professional, added to which, all of them were nice guys. I recommend them unreservedly.

We found Ali Amos purely by chance, I saw her van and noted the phone number as we wanted someone to create a garden in our new house. I have to say it was the greatest piece of luck as she provided us with the most amazing outdoor space you can imagine. We had a typical new build garden which was basically just grass and also a slope that dropped nearly 2 metres below the level of the house, she designed three separate levels to combat that and each one has it's own identity. The part nearest the house now has a patio and our greenhouse, the middle part is flower beds around a shingle circle and the lowest part is again paved with space for a shed. They are the most charming people to work with, helpful in the extreme as of course ideas can change as the project progresses and such things are readily incorporated. One last thing, three of our neighbours liked what she dis so much they used her services themselves - now that is a REAL recommendation!
