I'm Jordan Saia, owner, operator and craftsman at TinyShed -- a custom furniture shop offering original designs made from 100% sustainable reclaimed wood. Combining a background in fine arts at Pratt Institute with 15 years of experience in carpentry, I create timeless pieces that blend natural beauty with functional design--using high-quality materials sourced right here in the Pacific Northwest. At TinyShed, I’ll work with you to find the perfect solution for your space. Although I work with oak, pine, cedar, walnut, tigerwood and other materials--I specialize in unique creations using a dense Asiatic hardwood referred to as “fishtail oak,” for its almost iridescent qualities. This stunning wood blends shades of chocolate, honey, rose, cinnamon, burgundy and copper, in a breathtaking pattern not unlike the scales of a fish. I first stumbled upon it in the industrial section of NW Portland, where grayed and weathered shipping dunnage made of the material sit, waiting to be transformed into your one-of-a-kind piece.
