I am a designer, and was invited to the showroom by Lois McDonald. I am always looking for custom high quality craftsmanship for many of my clients, but it is very difficult to find. What I particularly liked was the fact that they had many examples of their work so that a client could see the quality they were getting, and the many different applications available. I was also impressed with their fabricating facility. As a convenience they have a room that a designer/architect can go with a client , be comfortable, work out any design problem with someone who knows every aspect of the construction, choose a wood, and see an example of how that wood would look in completion, and choose from many carving examples. As many who do this kind of work know, it is hard for most clients to envision things, so this facility helps eliminate that aspect of it. It was very apparent to me that if you can envision it - they can make it! AND, as a designer, I could me confident that the work would be done at the highest quality. Stephan Plaud has built several beds for me over the years - most recently an onion top bed, queen sized in maple. It is beautiful, sturdy and well made. They were easy to work with and finished the project on time. I have also purchased a twin tulip top in white, a queen sized canopy field bed, dressers, and side tables. My dining room table was made by them. The most beautiful pieces of furniture in my home were built by Stephan Plaud. I highly recommend them.

Stephen Plaud offers the highest quality of newly constructed furniture, which is very hard to find today. From four poster beds to custom mill work...it's wood working at its finest! I've visited his workshop in the past and was so impressed with the overall surroundings, as well as the customer service. Always a pleasure working with Stephen and his team of craftsmen.
