Sobre nosotros
In 2011, while unemployed and job hunting, James Smith noticed there was a large void in the furniture industry for affordable, quality, and real-wood furniture. So he bought a $40 skill saw, some stain, and wood and built a coffee table in his garage. He listed the coffee table online and although that first table didn't sell for a month, orders started flowing in for dining tables, benches, night stands, and more. It was obvious people wanted solid, attractive, real-wood furniture at an affordable price. Smith quickly partnered with college friend James Eldridge to help meet the growing demand and James+James was born.
Today, James+James is one of the fastest growing furniture companies in the country, with James+James products found in nearly every state from coast to coast. Job creation right here in the U.S. continues to remain a top priority. James+James now provides work to over 50+ team members and growing.
We look forward to building you a custom piece of furniture that will last years to come! For customizations, pricing, and placing an order, please let our James+James team know!
We still build by hand in Northwest Arkansas from real, solid wood and every James+James built item is branded with the James+James mark. Thanks for supporting local craftsmen and garage-started businesses.

I was expecting so much from this company. And I really wanted to give them a 5 star review. I bought the Olivia turned leg dining table with 10 chairs. Delivery was a nightmare. It took over 6 months for me to get all my pieces. I had paid for white glove service which kept showing up with my table without setting up a time with me. I was away in Scotland when they first showed up and then working twice after that. I thought they would also be bringing my chairs but my chairs were delivered by FedEx and just sitting on my lawn while I was in Scotland. It was over 4 months after I ordered them so a heads up would’ve been nice. I had to find family members to go move them into my house since that was a few thousand dollars worth of furniture just sitting out there.
Moving onto the actual furniture. The table is amazing…beautiful…sturdy. The chairs are outsourced to someone else and I really wish I would’ve bought chairs from someone else. Numerous pieces came damaged. They sent me 3 new chairs because of the damaged pieces. One of the new ones was also damaged. This time they didn’t want to send me a new chair so just refunded me for that chair. Besides the numerous pieces being damaged, the finishing on these chairs is terrible. It is bumpy…the chairs have not been sanded properly…it catches your hand when you move it along the chairs. To be spending that much money on chairs that are not finished properly is ridiculous. I could have gotten better chairs from a big box store. Also the white glove service does not put together the chairs…it took me OVER 6 hours to put them together. Ridiculous.
I was so excited to order this furniture and it was truly a nightmare. James and James did try to correct the problems (for the damaged chairs) but all the chairs are lacking true craftsmanship. They lack proper finishing. I’m stuck with them now and considering paying a local person to refinish them.

I finally received my custom ordered 8 ft solid white oak table 3 days ago. When I ordered this table, I specified I was going for a modern look and would like little to no knots, but if there are some knots, to fill them in, making it smooth. No stain. When I informed the company that their selected shipping company would not allow me to inspect product for any shipping damage as per their instructions, rep at James & James gave me a 4 hr window to notify them of any damage after I was able to inspect. I did exactly that. We unpacked the crate which was not damaged, and set the table up. Knots filled in as specified, no problem there. My issue is there are cracks on one end of the table that are open, and they refuse to fix/repair, or admit as poor workmanship. They keep repeating the knots are natural , and I was informed. I keep saying it’s not the knots, I don’t have a problem with the knots, it’s the cracks on the one edge of the table and one of the legs. Their last corresponding email so far claims that I have “buyers remorse”…they say these cracks are natural imperfections. No where on their website or prior to ordering did anyone ever tell me that my furniture may come with CRACKS on one of the edges, as well as a void in the glued joint lines of one of the legs. As of today, I am still trying to get James and James to make this right. My impression in their communication to me, is they’re not going to fix it, and they’re hiding behind the vague excuse that everything abnormal in the workmanship of the table “is part of the natural imperfections of wood”..I have only had this table for 3 days. I spent over $4k for this table. I have a cracked table for over $4k.

Our new barstools are excellent quality, and I love that we were able to customize the finish. Emilie provided excellent customer service throughout the entire process, and the delivery guys were awesome. We will definitely purchase more from James + James in the future!!

I had two solid oak tables built. They are very heavy pieces and are beautiful! They should last a lifetime.

I love my new custom Steel X Base kitchen table and bench from James+James! Loved the ability to customize the size and color. James+James was easy to work with and helped in the decision making process of my custom choices due to the fact this was a long-distance order. Thanks James+James for a beautiful table and bench!

Buyer beware. This was almost a comically bad experience.
We ordered a pedestal dining room table from James and James, mainly because they were able to make it to a custom width which was not available from traditional manufacturers. I would never recommend dealing with this company. About 2 months after we ordered it, the first time the table was shipped, there was severe damage to one of the pedestals, but this may have been the shipping company's fault. It looked like someone tried to move it with a forklift and that ripped through the wrap and took a large gouge out of one of the pedestals. I had to be at home and wasted half a day waiting for the truck, and the driver immediately said "you might want to take a look before we unload this" obviously knowing full well it was messed up.
Sent it back and waited another 6 weeks or so. So I didn't miss work I rented a truck and picked it up at the shipping company. At home, when we got the table unpacked, there were no assembly instructions nor hardware of any sort to attach the pedestals to the table. Also the table top in its packaging weighed about 225 lbs and took 3 of us to get it off the truck. I called the company and they said they would send out some screws. I asked them if I could just buy them locally, and it turns out the table is held to the pedestal with drywall screws. Went to Lowe's and got these (the shipped screws took a week to arrive). The pedestals had a vertical part and a base that it sits in. The attachment from the table top to the vertical part of the pedestal connection was solid with the drywall screws. The vertical part of the pedestal just sort of sits in a square hole in the base section. When we set the table top/pedestal assembly into the bases, the table was extremely unstable to the point it would rock back and forth with 2 inches of vertical play in each direction. I tried to see if somehow I was missing something but there were no other parts. I called the company again and they said it was normal for the pedestal table to rock back and forth like that. I said maybe on an ocean freighter but not in my kitchen. Then they said they would mail me some long screws that I could stick through the sides of the base of my brand new 2000.00 table to stabilize it! Ya right!
Then we looked at the top. The table was 88 by 48 with endcaps. The edges of the endcaps were not even flush with the sides of the table. They stuck out by 1/4in. on each side. Not only that, the endcaps were warped slightly so the ends curved down a bit below the level of the table and the middle part curved up a bit, so it was not a smooth table top surface. The endcaps were not connected in any special type of joint like a tongue in groove/dovetail etc, just end to side. That created a gap between the endcap and the rest of the tabletop. The coating on the wood (laquer or whatever) was "gooed up" in the crack and looked like Elmer's wood glue. The wood top had a big semicircular "burn mark" due to an crappy sanding job or planer.
By this time my wife was basically in tears. After several emails to the company and with multiple pictures and videos the response from Keller Allgood at James and James was:
"Our tables and beds are built from solid wood that is distressed and has a reclaimed look. Our paint finishes are applied by brush. Customers often complement our furniture for the beautiful wood grain and handcrafted characteristics. We do not offer machine manufactured perfection and we take great pride in each and every unique piece of solid wood furniture that we sell. By their nature, solid wood planks may shift slightly over time, further enhancing their rustic character.
Again I apologize for the issues that you experienced with the third party shipping company both times your table left our wood shop. Yesterday after having talked to Tom and getting walked through assembly I am confident that you can adjust the table to your satisfaction."
Yes it had a hand made look: like it was made by BOY SCOUTS. We had 3 furniture repair experts do a repair estimate. One said they could not fix it. The other quoted 1950.00 and the third quoted 600.00. He stabilized the table by placing plates underneath the vertical stands and then bolting the pedestals to the plate so the repair was not visible. He then planed and sanded down the endcaps to be even, and refinished the entire table. I sent the bill to James and they basically absolved themselves of any responsibility. With this extra work, we actually do like the table now, but this is the way it should have come from the factory. The fact that James and James punted any responsibility reflects a total lack of integrity from this company. I have never experienced such poor customer relations from any company. The furniture repair guy said it was the crappiest table in that price range he has ever seen. If they did it to me they can do it to you.
Sorry for the long review.

Comentario de James and James Furniture:
Thank you for taking the time to review us, Thomas. Unfortunately, we feel that your review is unfair and inaccurate. As such, I would like to take this opportunity to respond.
You begin your review by complaining that it took 2 months for your table to arrive and complaining about having to be home for the shipment. - as stated on our website's FAQ page as well as your order confirmation, our order-to-ship time ranges anywhere from 4-8 weeks. Your table was shipped 6 weeks after you ordered. During your check-out process you selected third party freight shipping for delivery. It is clearly stated at checkout, in your order confirmation, on our FAQ page, and in the e-mail you received when your table shipped that it would be a curbside delivery which would require an appointment set by the freight company. To complain about the turn around time or delivery method is unfair, because both are clearly stated and described on our website.
Unfortunately, as you mention in your review, your table was damaged in transit by Old Dominion Freight Lines. We package and crate our tables extensively to prevent shipping damage. While shipping damage is rare, it is something that is outside of our control. However, once we were made aware of the damage we immediately built you a replacement and shipped it as quickly as we could. This replacement furniture even shipped within 8 weeks of your original order. We are so sorry your furniture was damaged in transit by the freight carrier. However, we worked quickly to rectify the situation at no expense to you and within your original turn-around time window. When your replacement furniture arrived, you opted to pickup the furniture from the freight dock, instead of waiting for a delivery to your house the next day.
When your replacement furniture was shipped, there was confusion surrounding your hardware and it was not shipped with your replacement furniture. We apologized extensively for this oversight by our packaging team and we shipped you new hardware the same day.
We have never had a customer unable to easily assemble our furniture because assembly is very straight forward. When you reached out to our shop with questions, you were immediately connected with two carpenters on two different occasions who both talked you through the assembly of the table. We also offered to send a crew to your house to help with assembly and you declined.
As far as the weight of the table I do not feel this is a fair complaint- our customers purchase from us because we build from solid wood. We make pieces that you and your family can enjoy for decades, we do not offer any products made from veneers or laminate.
When you informed us that you felt there were things wrong with your table, we offered to send our crew to your house at no expense to take a look, as the pictures you sent us did not show anything wrong with the furniture. You refused to let us come to your home and instead proceeded to pay another company to change several things about your table and then asked us to pay that bill.
We pride our selves on excellent customer service, unfortunately you weren't willing to hear us out after your frustrating experiences initially with the third party shipping company.
We take great pride in the furniture we build for our customers and we always treat our customers fairly. I apologize for the frustration you experienced in shipping and assembly. Thank you for your time.

Through word of mouth we heard about this company in their infancy. My wife and I chose a 5.5' farmhouse table with bench and 5' office desk. The site states the products have beauty, simplicity and integrity. We found all three in our two products. Both pieces would look great in either contemporary or a ranch/country home.
I am a stickler for quality of the product. Both pieces are very substantial. Our dining table has withstood almost two years of family meals, crayons, hot coffee cups, literally hundreds of cups of spilt milk, the abuse of three kids under eight, and still wipes down to look exactly the same as it did when we received it. It's pretty and brawny at the same time. Our office desk handles our imac and mbp just fine with a little room to spare and takes up limited floor real estate.
James + James product line has exploded since we purchased ours with many new products we would love to fill our home. After living with the products for almost two years, we would not hesitate to buy, and plan on buying several more products.
As big box store imported furniture quality continues to erode, I truly feel that we got more than what we paid for. We also love supporting a local to us American company.

We had J+J custom build our 9' conference table that is now a focal point of our office. They helped us decide which style would be best for our space and even let us make the base a bright blue color to match our branding. The table was produced quickly and everyone was very friendly. We even got to tour the shop and see how they're made! Awesome stuff.

We have a custom built table, bench and shelf from James and James. We love them! They were extremely professional and helpful. They made all the furniture to fit exactly into our space. We can't recommend them enough! We will definitely use them for our future furniture needs.

James + James came up on a google search we did for farmhouse tables. Let me say, Google did NOT disappoint! We had a custom sized modern harvest table built for our dining room. The craftsmanship is impeccable and the table was very reasonably priced compared to other non-custom farmhouse tables we looked at through major retailers (which included home delivery and set up)! Can't wait to have them build an outdoor patio table for us next year when we have the backyard renovated!
