Owned and operated by the Sloat family since 2000, Expressions In Wood Inc. operates a combination showroom and workshop in Stoney Creek, Ontario and a second showroom in Stratford, Ontario. What makes us unique are the collaborative process we follow and our renowned wood finishes. In fact, it is this tradition of listening and working closely with customers that first led us to open our own finishing shop. By experimenting with leading-edge finishes and techniques on a variety of woods, we are able to create surfaces that stand the test of time and either coordinate with or perfectly match your existing cabinets. Next, we branched out into design. We started with one full-time interior designer and now have two talented designers on staff. Their experience and knowledge enables Expressions In Wood Inc. to design for style and most importantly for function. Quite simply, we take function seriously and we will not let you make a mistake. To prevent errors we have developed a collaborative process that encourages customers to open their minds to ‘what’s possible’ and together with our support, create “inspired” one-of-a-kind pieces. We involve you in all stages of production to enable you to get exactly what you are looking for and more! Finally, we believe in fair and reasonable pricing which is why we chose to become “an integrated manufacturer.” That means that we search for high quality component producers who are based locally. These component producers are able to do short runs for us and deliver the quality components we need — on time and on budget. As our reputation grew over the years customer requests have become more specific and unique. We have learned how to manage all the aspects of custom design and we also work with fabric, hardware, glass and metal.
