African Figured Wood
Sobre nosotros
At African Figured Wood we import highly figured hardwood lumber of exceptional quality from the tropical forest of the Congo Basin, the second largest rainforest in the world. Because we have deep ties to the Central African Republic, we are able to travel to the forest and hand select each log for export to our facility in the Atlanta area. Our domestic species of wood are also sustainably sourced, it is all Urban Harvested from a 30 mile radius of the Atlanta area.
Our selection of hardwood also includes Gabon Ebony, African Mahogany, Sapele, Bubinga, Anigre, Padouk and Limba (Korina) is ideal for use in high-end furniture, architectural millwork, musical instruments, and artistic works. Because we travel to the forest and import directly, we are able to offer personalized services such as custom milling and custom orders.
Because we are from Central Africa, conserving and protecting this forest is extremely important to us. That is why we work with loggers who use sustainable yield harvesting methods. The FAO and the WWF have inspected the forest in the Central Africa as a sustainable source and an important resource of socioeconomic development for the region. All of our wood imports are certified by Bureau Veritas (BIVAC) and conform to environmental and fair trade practices in compliance with international standards.
