I started out doing handyman repairs and home maintenance in the late 70s, and have continued to add to my range of skills. My company has grown slow but steady over the years by hiring reliable and competent people. I’ve also developed relationships with qualified people in all the specialty trades, such as plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling. Some of of my customers have been with me for over 25 years, because I provide the kind of friendly service that keeps them coming back for new projects. And they refer us to their friends and neighbors. We often start with doing smaller projects for people. This gives us a chance to prove ourselves and show that we can efficiently and competently do the job. We do minor repairs, routine maintenance, foundation work and masonry, and full remodels of kitchens, baths, and basements. For minor handyman and repair work we usually charge by the hour–$50 to $70 per hour for most work. I have a $20 trip charge which is waived if the project takes up most of the day. That may not sound ‘cheap’, but we are fast and efficient and my truck is like an organized, rolling hardware store. We don’t waste our time or your money. I can give you a pretty good idea of what something will cost before I send someone out to do the work, and I do free estimates for most projects.
