I'm disappointed that you've chosen to write a such a negative review! I felt we had an amazing working relationship and we were all very pleased with your custom patio installed late 2014. Your project was truly unique and if you recall I worked very closely with you and your family the entire way. I firmly defend that I offered thoughtful insight, creative high-end design style, and cost saving solutions to your challenging site parameters. All the while I worked with your VERY limited $10k budget and aggressive price reducing negotiations to ultimately deliver an amazing natural stone enhancement to your property. All of which was delivered on time and UNDER budget!!
My comprehensive contracts offer a three (3) year guarantee against defects in materials and my workmanship--and I have upheld that for you entirely.
After your first year in use, you notified me that the custom concrete fire pit cap we designed had cracked due to heat stress and that the lower portion of the stone wall cap needed some re-pointing. After inspection of my own, I agreed that these repairs fit under my guarantee and I went ahead to recast a new concrete cap and we re-pointed your entire lower wall cap (this is all documented). I was under the impression that both you and Vaughn were very happy and we even celebrated with a few cold long trail IPA brews and a nice cookout!
In spring of 2016, you reached out once more mentioning that the concrete fire pit cap has indeed cracked again. You sent a few good pictures and I reminded you that this was due to heat stress and will continue to be a concern due to the size of fires you like to build (I even joked we should've made it bigger!) Either way I suggested three viable options to attempt resolving the issue to re-cap the pit. (Again this is all documented). I explained that 2016 was sizing up to be a very busy season and that since these issues weren't pressing, that we waited till the end of the season to address them. You were very understanding and gave the impression it was no big deal. End of season came last year and admittedly, I did not follow up for these repairs in time before winter--for that I offer my humblest of apologies.
I feel that resorting to these attempts at public defamation of my reputation even after my correspondences with you is very unreasonable. (Especially since we had a great relationship prior) I understand your household has been experiencing some internal difficulties this may have some impact on your related stresses, and perhaps this is more so the root of your issues. But for you to claim that I have not been in touch with you and that I have not taken the appropriate professional routes of resolving your concerns Is flat out slander.
Since you have submitted this review, I have attempted to contact you several times to bring amicable resolve leaving you thoroughly satisfied. There has been nothing but silence from your end. Either way, I will forgive you and despite being past the three year warranty I will still gladly execute one of the three solutions I presented earlier.
Otherwise--I truly do wish you and your family the best and I do hope Vaughn is well. She was always very sweet and an absolute pleasure to work with.
