We just had some sod installed at our house and they appear to have done a superb job. They came and cut out the old sod, prepped the ground, and laid the new sod expertly. The lawn edges were cut so precisely, no edges or corners missed, and the quality of the sod looks great. There was a drain pipe running under the sod too, so while I have no way of knowing if that was left in working condition, I assume by the great care and attention to detail they showed on the sod, that it is likely in great shape too. I would highly recommend Merrifield's Landscaping Services. While they tend to be more expensive than other companies, their quality is better as well. I do recommend that if you have them come out to give you a quote that you make sure they take accurate measurements for the quote so nothing changes between the first visit and final cost. The area being re-sodded for us ended up being larger than what the original estimator thought, thus a higher price, but Merrifield honored the first quote. It took a couple calls to make this happen, so accurate measurements can help avoid any mis-understandings.

From our first meeting to my last dealing with the folks from Merrifield, everyone was professional and responsive. So responsive, our consultant moved up the date for our project in order to accommodate an event we were hosting at our house. They completed the project with two days to spare! There was a drainage issue that was overlooked until we experienced heavy rains and realized this particular area was a problem. I called Merrifield--the crew returned to fix the problem--no questions asked, no hesitation whatsoever. In the past, we have used less reputable landscapers before (in an effort to save money) and what we learned is it is much better to spend a little more money up front and do the job right the first time then end up spending extra money correcting issues created by the less reputable company. I will certainly use Merrifield again if we have additional work that needs to be completed. They are excellent!!

Thirteen years ago, we engaged Sharon Ross and her crew at Merrifield Garden Center to design a landscape for our front yard. Sharon listened to our ideas, made suggestions based on her professional experience and created a beautiful space. Five years later, we asked Sharon to transform our side yard and the result is equally delightful. Both areas have withstood the changing seasons and look as lovely today as when they were new. Sharon's crews are professional, punctual and take great pride in their work. Sharon Ross knows her stuff --- and is a joy to work with!

We had a complex set of outdoor landscaping issues and we selected Mary Kirk Menefee and Marrifield after being dissapointed with several other companies. Merrifield did a great job with concepts, landscape design, quality materiel, schedule, and overall result. In this business I find that you get what you pay for. Since landscaping is important and long lasting, I will go back to Merrifield for the next project. Great job!

We contacted Merrifield in early spring after we concluded that some of our winter-damaged trees and shrubs in our back yard had to be replaced. Mary Kirk Menefee took the project seriously, actively listening to our concerns and aspirations and responding with intelligence, enthusiasm and careful attention to detail. She recommended and installed plants that not only complemented the existing garden and strengthened its underlying structure, but also allowed us to experience the garden and its possibilities in new ways. The crew members were great to work with during the installation: knowledgeable, careful responsive and responsible. We love our garden for tis beauty and serenity. Thank you Merrifield for being there when we needed you!
