Kiwi Nurseries Ltd

After taking the plunge and moving from New Zealand to Canada in 1976, Murray Munro set out to continue his passion for horticulture by founding Kiwi Landscaping with his wife, Alison in 1979. Kiwi Landscaping’s beginnings were to provide commercial landscaping services to Alberta clients. In 1990, the land where the nursery currently operates from was purchased. As word spread of the nursery, there was an overwhelming demand to sell to the public, and Kiwi Nurseries Ltd., was formed in 2003. With Murray working as the superintendent of the landscaping crew and Alison working behind the scenes; this was the beginning of Kiwi Nurseries Ltd. The original idea behind the nursery was to use the land as a place to grow trees to supply our own landscaping projects. Over the years, we have had many individuals wander into the gate asking if they could buy trees, and eventually the commercial nursery turned into a retail sales center. Although Kiwi Nurseries Ltd., has always been a family venture with both daughters involved, Murray and Alison’s eldest daughter, Kathryn, joined the team full-time in 2006, followed by Ashleigh in 2012. Since 2003, Kiwi Landscaping and Kiwi Nurseries have worked in tandem to help our community and clients become a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful place. As of 2014, we are still a grower of prairie hardy trees on our 224 acre nursery, and aim to provide our clientele with superior customer service. We specialize in both commercial landscaping projects, and residential tree planting services.
