Mackenzie Wood Interiors is an Austin based boutique interior design firm focusing on high end residential. We work to create beautiful spaces through new construction, remodels, furnishings and consulting. I don’t like to limit myself when it comes to design. But my home is cozy, eclectic and a mix of old and new. All white walls and neutral furniture are the perfect canvas for passed down family art, and pillows and decor collected whilst traveling. I love styling with books (and reading them too!), vintage brass and photography of any kind. But your home has a different story. I love old wood floors, vintage and antiques, mixed in with clean lines of cabinetry, neutral patterns and textures, with subtle pops of color and surprisingly playful art. Elements from Scandinavian, Tribal, Classic French and Mid-Century styles all seem to creep in at some point or another. But I’m more of a minimal maximalist - I like simple designs that get brought to life through the smallest, but always noticeable details. A perfect blend of color, texture, art and lighting are essential to create the best design for our clients.

We bought a second home in Austin from New York and hired Mackenzie to design the renovation and furnishings for the entire house. We remodeled the kitchen, living room and 3 bathrooms and needed to furnish all the rooms since this is a second residence. This was our first time using a designer and Mackenzie put us at ease from the very beginning and her positive and unflappable attitude made the process very easy. She invested time in understanding what we would like and helped us see move beyond our old comfort zones to get the look we wanted. Her relationships with vendors, manufacturers, etc. really helped achieve custom and high quality results without overspending. She took what would have been an overwhelming project from afar and made it feel doable room by room. She’s very talented and has the perfect temperament for this. We recommend her very highly. Mackenzie did a great job advising us room by room! The discounts available to her on furnishings saved us a ton. Her design fee is very reasonable. Many friends and neighbors have commented on the cozy, lived-in, beautiful decorating work she did. Would not hesitate to use again!!

From helping review plans, color choices, flooring, tile, furniture, accessories, you name it, they've been guiding us the whole way.
