Suzy Dallas is a luxury home design consultancy based in both London and the South of France that specialises in interior and exterior space planning & lighting design. We offer a unique design service tailored to private clients, boutique developers, architects and interior designers whether this be for one room designs, full home renovations, new builds, hotels and private yachts. With over fifteen years experience in lighting design and project management - we work with clients from initial planning stages through to the completion of their project. We will offer a totally bespoke and personal service; with the same consultant throughout enabling consistency and speed of completion. SERVICES & FEES HOURLY FEE @ £150 PER HOUR • Lighting design consultation • Space planning & layouts • Full Interior & exterior lighting design service (or part of) based on RIBA Plan of Works Stages 2-6 as listed below: STAGE 2: Concept Design: What’s possible. Draft layouts, mood boards & sketches; STAGE 3: Design Development: Plans, Specification & Fittings Book for tender/pricing; STAGE 4: Technical Design: Revisions showing Details, Joinery, Costings. Construction Issue. STAGE 5: Project Management: Sourcing fittings, site visits/mock ups. STAGE 6: Commissioning: Lighting Control Scene Schedule & site visit to set levels. For a full service Stages 2-6 for an average 3000 square foot house the design fee would be in the region of £3000 - £3500 based on the above services. We aim to show all our clients what is possible to achieve with clever lighting and explain how we are going to deliver a lighting scheme which enhances the very best of the architecture and interiors of each project. We had never worked with a lighting consultant previously and took the plunge because we wanted to make the most of a largish kitchen extension we were building. I found Suzy on Houzz and from our first conversation we found her friendly, expert, accommodating and easy to work with. We did meetings on zoom, she gave us loads of ideas, the price of her advice was reasonable, she was flexible when we changed our minds, and we are really happy with what we've ended up with (even though we're not quite finished yet...). We didn't put in everything she suggested, mainly due to cost, but she still managed to make it all work overall. I'm really glad we worked with her. She pushed us to think more about the lighting and to be more ambitious. We'd have just put in some spots and pendants, but we've ended up with floor lights, glowing leds and a fantastic strip light over our island which all work really well together. And a fancy but really simple way to control it all. Yes we ended up spending more on it than we had planned. But it's definitely been worth it, as the space looks really good. Thank you Suzy.

The difference Suzy's advice and design has made to our house has been amazing. From the start she understood what we wanted to achieve and has steered us along with a clear plan, together with some interesting choices. She has provided so much detail and some additional valuable tips on other factors of our build that has proved invaluable. Suzy did an amazing job with our lighting design for our newly refurbished house. She has exquisite taste and attention to detail so that no areas are neglected. Her advice is honest and helpful as it would have been a daunting task to attempt anything similar myself. Really looking forward to seeing the finished article very soon. I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone I know. It is so important to get the lighting right especially when moving house and starting afresh.

Suzy has managed to light our large family home in a tactful and original manner, creating completely different spaces and vibes with her choices. She’s extremely professional, polite and quick to help while working with interior designers, the client and the builders all at the same time. The Lighting Edition designed the lighting for my orangery and gardens and it is FABULOUS! Suzy listened carefully to my brief and produced the most amazing result. The orangery looks stunning bathed in different lighting layers and the gardens are magnificent when illuminated in the evenings. I cannot recommend this company highly enough for their professionalism and expertise. Working with them was a total delight and the end result has exceeded all our expectations.

My wife and I decided to refurbish the first floor of our London flat a couple of years ago, for the first time since 2004. We are a ground floor / lower ground floor maisonette, which means the natural light is not great in certain parts of the flat. Therefore, one of the major objectives of the refurbishment was to improve the lighting throughout the flat, and also to add some pizazz and tasteful highlights along the way. We had a Lutron system before, but it was dated since we installed it in 2004, and the technology has changed significantly since then. In addition, one major objective was to convert to LED lighting, since this is more energy efficient and practical now. Ultimately, around 30% of the cost of the entire project was spent for the lighting. Suzy was extremely helpful in terms of recommending some tasteful additions to our lighting, including floor lights, up-lighting, lighting placements, and other key advice that - at the end of the day - really added to the aesthetics as far as the finished product so to speak. We are very happy with the way the lights look throughout our flat, and it made the refurbishment all worthwhile. As far as the light controllers, which mattered a lot to me, we opted for RAKO over Creston, Lutron and others. RAKO is less expensive but has an excellent app and is very functional. RAKO also gets good reviews, so we didn’t feel that we were sacrificing anything. We have had a few glitches with the programming (a RAKO issue), but this is getting sorted out now. I would recommend Suzy for her experience, noting that lighting is inevitably the key to making a flat, villa or house look its best.
