I ordered two chandaliers last November from this company for a new store project. The items were late so I tried making contact to make sure I had them before our store opening. Eventually I recieved a response that they had been shipped. When they arrived I found out they sent the lamps with the wrong finish and I could not use them in my store. I have been trying ever since to return and can not get through to a live person (only an answering service who take messages that are never responded to) I have also reached out via email on several occasions with no response. I would like to return them and get a refund.

Please note you have not been charged for the incorrect lamp order. You should have received return labels for the lamps. I will make sure a return label is provided for the return of the incorrect lamps tomorrow. Again, check your statement, no charge has been made. Also, your order was delivered in time. Delivery is 7-10 business days. You placed your order on 10/24/2017. Delivery was 11/10/2017. Nevertheless, we apologize for any inconveniences.

Working with Modernist Lighting was possibly the worst customer service experience of my career. My client's lamp came damaged and we could not get a return call after 6 attempted messages. I finally left a message saying I was calling about a new project and they called back the next day. Their rep promised 5 times that the owner would call us back to get the situation settled and it never happened. Each time the rep would say, "She still hasn't called you?" Buyer beware- you will be very unhappy with your experience. Most of their lighting comes from a company called Nuevo Living- I would try to source it elsewhere if possible.

Do NOT use ModernistLighting unless you want your project delayed. Worst customer experience of my life... Seriously stressly beyond belief to deal with these people.

Please note ModernistLighting.com is an online retailer, selling products from a variety of known lighting manufacturers. As with most online retailers, we do not hold inventory and products ship direct from the manufacturers warehouse. Inventory fluctuates throughout the day and the sell out rate is high for lighting sold online. Therefore, we clearly state Estimated Shipping dates on the product page.
If an item is in stock we proceed to have the order within the Estimated Shipped Date as stated on the product page. In the event an item is sold out, customers are sent email notifications with an ETA date of when the item will be back in stock. The email asks for your confirmation to Ship Upon Arrival or Cancel. Your credit card is not charged until we hear back from you with confirmation.
Furthermore, customers are at liberty to submit a Quote Request direct from the product page, in which a hard delivery time schedule will be provided for a project. Customers can also contact us by phone or email to confirm product availability and/or time schedule for their project.
Without knowing the specifics of your claim as you have posted this review under an alias or a name that is not on an order record, I will do my best to address. Brandon, if you ordered an item that was sold out, email notifications were sent with options to cancel or ship upon arrival. Your credit card was not charged.
If you backed ordered an item, but the manufacturer delayed the shipping date, email updates were sent.
If you contacted us by phone or email to check the status of your order, we responded that the item was out-of-stock or delayed, provided an ETA and also notified you we attempted to reach you prior by email, but did not receive any reply.
Any item that was sold out or delayed, it was clearly communicated to you promptly. And, nothing was charged to your credit card.

Purchased a light from this company. Waited nearly two months and nothing shipped. The order was delayed multiple times and we received two shipping estimates. Neither time did the item ship by this time. After waiting almost two months we had to cancel the order. The customer service is the worst I have dealt with. We bought over 20 lights for our new house build and the only one that did not ship was the one from this company.

The customer purchased a lamp and we sent email notifications to let them know the lamp was out of stock, the ETA and inquired if they would like for us to ship upon arrival or cancel. All orders are confirmed within 72 hours upon placement as inventory fluctuates daily. Within the 72 hours an email notification was sent stating the order was out of stock, ETA to the manufacturers warehouse and if they would like for us to ship upon arrival or cancel. Did not hear from customer. Subsequent email sent.
Customer called a month later to track her order. I informed her the lamp was not instock and we sent email notifications asking how she would like to proceed. She replied, "I ordered a 1300 dollar light. I shouldn't have to respond to tell you that I want it. If I didn't want it I never would've ordered it in the first place."
After receiving her reply, the customer and I spoke where she stated she still wanted the lamp. I offered to get the lamps from an overseas supplier, we would ship via DHL air cargo and provided a 30 day ETA as the domestic supplier had a longer lead time. She agreed. The customer canceled before the lamps arrived. We refunded her credit card the same day. Customer began to send harassing emails and I had to plead with her to stop.
We did all we could for the customer. Sent notifications of availability, went beyond to pay and bring in lamps from another vendor and refunded her money the moment she cancelled.
Customer called a month later to track her order. I informed her the lamp was not instock and we sent email notifications asking how she would like to proceed.
