FLAMETHROWER STUDIOS was established in 2015 by Lance La Breche, a former artist manager who spent nearly three decades successfully developing, marketing and managing the careers of world-class fashion models and musicians. While doing so, he was fortunate enough to be able to study the work of - and work in tandem with - some of the greatest image makers of the 20th Century, including Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Francesco Scavullo, Paolo Roversi, Annie Leibovitz, and others. Now, as a commercial photographer, he draws upon that experience and aesthetic training to inform and influence his own approach to visual storytelling. Driven by a keen interest in, and curiosity about architecture and its societal and historical importance, his ultimate goal is to produce rich, colorful photographs that convey each subject in an authentic, yet aspirational manner. Creatively, he remains committed to the underlying editorial narrative, believing that...while a photo should generally illustrate what a subject "is", it is the circumstances around what the subject does that evokes feelings of power, action and purpose to an otherwise inanimate state of being. Acting as artist and documentarian simultaneously, his objective on each project is to ultimately convey the creator’s intent, help drive commerce, and aid in educating each respective audience.
