Skyrel Stairs

Joe and his team did not come back to finish the project or correct the mistakes made to my stairs. The project started around the end of JULY 21 and continued with no call, no shows, being ghosted by Joe for 3 weeks, pop up messages without advance notice saying “the crew can come to your house today” and empty scheduling commitments that the team will come back to correct mistakes and finish, well into NOVEMBER 21. Now the “look” of the stairs is great, but Joe and his team did not come back to seal the stain on the stairs, put the second coat paint on the stringer, caulk the gaps, fix the wood that is separating, correct where the stain was “rubbed” off by the guys that installed the iron, fix the railing that is not connected to the wall(a hazard that can cut you) and finish laying the wood from the landing into the closet. We had a contract and paid my down payment and installments on time. But funny enough, and out the blue, Joe called asking for me to pay an installment early, even before the job was finished because he needed to pay his guys (in hindsight, I know I’m not responsible for that). I told him that this is sudden and I don’t feel comfortable paying before you have finished and no one has come back. He then asked if I can pay half and I did as I thought this would help motivate them to come back out. Well, Joe came to simply drop off some wood to finish the closet at the landing, that didn’t match the previous wood exactly but said that it would be narrow but couldn’t tell. The team did not show for some time and it just sat in my living room. Finally someone new came, and he asked did I really want that wood because it wouldn’t work and the landing was done incorrectly. I said I paid and I just wanted it done right. He stated that he could get the correct wood and left, then Joe called to ask me why I refused. I told him I didn’t refuse but based on your new guy, he said that I would not fit properly and that the cuts would be off. Joe stated that he would get the correct wood, and afterwards I had a conversation with him about his handling of my project and team’s lack of commitment, ghosting and not finishing the job. And of course it fell on deaf ears. Joe and his team have not returned. I had to file with PayPal to get my last payment back since Joe and the team was not returning. I would have to hire someone else to finish the job. And honestly, I should have tried to get more back, but I just had to let it go. I will say that Joe has a pretty friendly disposition but in the end to me, Joe and his team’s lack of professionalism, just comes off as being untrustworthy and manipulative. I would not recommend his company to anyone and would say to those who take interest, just to save yourself the headache.
