This man made so many promises and never came through. He mentioned how I would receive some kind of warranty so I felt relived knowing that. He came in the first day and right away starting complaining about back problems and quickly left to “see a doctor” and didn’t come back. I call after a day and he mentions he will get it done he promised it would be done soon. Next thing you know he sends his brother days later and he doesn’t finish completely he had to come back. I had to keep messaging because they had messed up the outlets when they were installing the backsplash. When finally finished we paid and asked for the warranty he never sent it or even intended to send. They didn’t even clean up afterwards. He’s lousy and no professionalism whatsoever. STEER AWAY FROM HIM! Look elsewhere that will provide better results.

Omar & Rueben offered high promises, but delivered opposite results. After months of being late, no shows, and poor work quality, they stopped showing up all together. What was supposed to be "done this weekend" turned in to 5 months and an incomplete job. Took our money and ran. I've spoken to others who had the same experience. I am writing this review with hopes of preventing anyone else having to go through this. Ended up having to get all of the work redone, too.

He might be ok for backsplashes and floors, but don’t let him anywhere near anything that needs to be water tight.
Our entire experience went terribly.
In short:
1. He installed a new shower for us with a tiled floor and walls. The shower leaked from the floor in multiple places. He came back to try and fix it (not in a timely manner), and it still leaked. Since then (its been 2.5 weeks), he has stopped responding to calls and will not honor his "2 year warranty”. Since we’ve already paid him in full, we have to eat the cost to tear out and re-install the entire thing.
2. Because we had to tear the entire thing out, it exposed everything that was done terribly. The walls of the shower were not waterproofed AT ALL. The shower pan membrane (the only thing waterproofing the floor) was not installed at a slope to facilitate drainage. The curb wasn’t waterproofed, caulked, or grouted properly. See detailed section for more examples.
3. Do not pay in full until you are fully satisfied and are sure that you don’t need him to come back. We lost over $2000 on this project.
4. It might be worth your time to google his full name (Omar Roman Martinez) before making any decisions.
In detail:
Quality: It was evident that he was just trying to get in and out as soon as possible with no regard for ensuring that the shower was water-tight. As mentioned, the shower pan and curb leaked. The walls had no waterproofing, it was entirely relying on tile and grout to keep the water out (photos from tear-out included to show this). There were over a dozen screws placed through the curb membrane, none of them waterproofed with caulk. The membrane didn’t go far enough up the wall, far enough over the curb, or properly get secured behind the cement board walls.
When he laid in the shower floor, he laid it un-evenly, and it didn’t drain properly (there was a spot that pooled an inch of water only a few inches from the drain). Even after “fixing” it, the floor still pooled water here.
When installing the cement board, he put a nail through an electric line (pictured). We didn’t notice until tear-out, thankfully it didn’t burn our house down.
He had several spots in the grout that were not properly applied, leaving big gaps and cracks. Our shower handle was re-installed upside down, there were dried-on grout smears all over my ceiling (pictured), tile, and my clear shower door, and he lost a part to my shower door so now it doesn’t glide properly.
Reliability/timeliness: He told us it would take under a week to re-tile our shower, and it took him 9 days to “finish”. We didn’t run into any roadblocks that caused delays, he just showed up late and left early most days without completing what he said they would (most days they were here for 2-3 hours and then left, with only half their goal completed). On several days he left early, saying he’d come back, and never did. At least 4 days he no-showed all together. Once we let him know on day 10 that the “finished” shower leaked, it took him a full week to finally “fix it”. And, like I mentioned before, he has completely gone radio silent and has refused to respond to my calls, voicemails, emails, and text messages regarding this issue. We paid him in full and had to tear out the entirety of his work.
Professionalism: He frequently came un-prepared without all the needed materials, and had to use ours (2x4s to frame the shower niche, screws, a shovel, tools, tool charger, etc.). On grout day, he forgot the grout and caulk, and we had to go to the store and pick it up for him.
His quote for my job included a 24-hour water test to ensure that the shower was water tight. This obviously never happened.
He left our house a MESS. There was black grout smeared all over the walls, ceiling, toilet, and sink that they didn’t even bother to wipe off. The toilet was filled with black grout (pictured). When removing the old tile, he severely damaged the drywall near the shower and didn’t bother to patch (also pictured). He used a separate bathroom to fill his buckets for grout, and left black grout spots and footprints all over that bathroom as well as my hardwood floors.
The 2 year warranty is a sham. We hired Omar because this gave us peace of mind, but he will not honor it.

I was confident in hiring Omar...but then everything went downhill. He failed to inform/ask me when he changed the scheduled work time, failed to ask me before he decided to not use certain colored boards (which he pulled it then claimed to be short on the measurements) When he came for a walk through I verified with him the direction I wanted to floor to lay & discussed how much to order-he assures me that the 5% overage would be enough for his crew.
After they “completed” the first floor and I was told I would be short 3-4 boxes I was a bit concerned but would order more. After they left I was cleaning around the pile of trash they made and noticed a full box of flooring at the bottom of their junk pile and at least 2.5 boxes worth of “trash” boards that were not cut or damaged in anyway (most of which were the color he decided he didn’t like)
During this time I went out of town for a week so we scheduled a time for them to return to finish the bathroom when they returned. They came in and layed the flooring (still the original order) and left quite quickly compared to the other days when he asked to review the work with me before they left. They were still missing what he claimed to be at least a box (maybe 4 planks of LVT in reality) and said they would return once it came in.
I went to look at the work after & not only are the cuts around my door frames AWFUL they also broke a tile on my tub surround. I sent photos of the tile and the other areas of the flooring that we would need fixed-he claimed to have a 2y warranty so it shouldn’t be a problem.
He avoided giving me an actual date and after over a month of trying to lock down a time for him to finish the work he was paid for I have decided to forego using these “professionals” to finish the job they were hired for.
The lack of professionalism was quite disappointing-we had 2 stair treads/risers included in our project which I would expect a professional floor installer to easily know how to do. He cut the tread at least 4 inches short requiring me to purchase and stain a new one, then installed them over the riser so that 1. The riser isn’t a secondary pressure point to keep it from tipping and 2. The stair lip was easily 3” or more causing a tripping hazard. When I asked him about it he claimed he was too scared to use a table saw and wouldn’t even able to install it any other way.....
The thresholds and stairnosing is not installed correctly-I was told that it was just going to wiggle like that—-when I installed correctly yes it still moves some but not to the point the sides are visible. The pictures below show his work for what it is. He definitely worked with me on the price-but I definitely got discounted work. I am HIGHLY disappointed-things that could have been an easy fix have become an issue Omar is blowing off. It would be nice to find someone who stands behind their word. Once he received his money he was done-dont pay in full until you are satisfied with the work you were supposed to have done.
