Southern Traditions LLC

Southern Traditions, LLC, is a residential construction company founded in 2003 by Robert and Megan Carter. Robert has nearly 20 years of experience in the construction industry. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from Virginia Tech, he spent 10 years working for one of the nation’s largest builders. His experience includes all aspects of residential homebuilding from design to construction, from quality control to purchasing, and from hands-on work to upper level management. Capitalizing on this experience, Robert and Megan launched Southern Traditions to be able to provide customers with unique home designs that feature classic Southern architecture and high quality throughout. Elaine Reeder joined the Southern Traditions team in 2005, bringing many years of experience in different facets of residential home construction to the company. She helps with day to day field operations, scheduling contractors and keeping a close eye on quality control. Elaine is pivotal in helping our customers keep up with the many product selections they make during the custom homebuilding process, such as cabinets, plumbing and lighting fixtures, and paint colors to name a few. Southern Traditions currently builds in Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield, New Kent, Goochland Counties, building custom homes from $300,000 to over $750,000. We build eight to ten homes per year, keeping our number of projects manageable so we can focus on the details, and give a high level of attention to each home. Robert prides himself with being on site every workday to keep a close eye on construction and interact closely with contractors and customers. We believe the homebuilding process should be a pleasure, not a pain. We see it as a partnership between the homebuyer and the homebuilder, not as a competition.
