In late 2023 we engaged Rolf Schroeder General Contractors to do a complete renovation of the exterior of our 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath suburban house, originally built around 1978. Structural wood repairs were also needed due to water damage in our basement. One small exit porch was completely replaced, our front porch was repaired and renovated, and a portion of our deck re-leveled with installation of a new support post and new Trex decking. The exterior renovation included roof and gutters replacement, removal of old asbestos-cement siding, new "Ascend" Alside composite siding, new gutters, all new windows, all new exterior doors and storm doors, some new trim, and new exterior lighting. In the process, a few additional problems were discovered and resolved creatively. We were very impressed by the detail in our contract proposal, by the competitive price, and by the team's patient and extremely detailed (at our request) explanation of how each task would be accomplished. Once delivery dates on products were confirmed, Rolf Schroeder GC provided a detailed day-by-day schedule for completing the project, which took 3.5 weeks on site. Despite some weather problems and some change orders (mostly upgrades we requested), the project was completed exactly on time. Throughout we were very pleased with the ongoing daily supervision of workers and quick responsiveness to our questions by the project team. All employees and subcontractors were pleasant, very efficient, and very hard-working. We couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the work, the materials, and the attractiveness of our new house exterior. We are also grateful that it will now be much more water- and air-tight. Several neighbors have commented on how great our house now looks.

Dreams to come true and Rolf Schroeder GC made it reality. We’ve had ideas for our kitchen since the day we moved into our house. The list was long, but Derek took that list and gave us a kitchen design that we never knew we needed. Knowing that we had never taken on a project this large, he walked us through every phase and helped with the selection process. During the whole process, we felt safe with the decisions and adjustments we had to make because of their guidance. Their crew, Jack and Doug, are so kind. They always took time to say good morning, and answer our questions, and talked to our little when she popped her head through the door everyday to see what they were doing. They kept the dust contained and cleaned up the construction area every day. We always knew who was going to be working, when they would arrive and what they were doing. Their craftsmanship is impeccable. If there’s something out of place, I haven’t found it. And I’ve looked. And it was complete just in the nick of (Christmas) time.

Remodeled master bathroom with Rolf Schroeder GC. It was by far the most pleasant home project I’ve ever done. They start with a design and then hold your hand during the selection process. Crew not only professional but respectful & clean. Prep home in am, clean up by dinner. We knew in advance the work to be done, who was coming in and who was going. Rolf & son, Derek were on site every day teaching us and answering questions. Our project did not begin until all materials were in so every day was productive. This is the second time (and there will be a third time) we hired Rolf Schroeder and his team to improve our home. This project entailed a FULL basement remodel. We couldn't be happier! Rolf and his team listened to our needs and they were more than sensitive to our budget. Did we run over budget? Yes, but it was NOT THEIR FAULT. We chose to add other items to the project than what we originally agreed to. Rolf and Derek were more than willing to work with us. What was the result? Our home looks way better that it did before. They will be welcomed back with open arms when it comes time to remodel our bathroom. We can't wait! Rolf, Derek, and their team (Doug and Jack) are part of our family. We trust them completely.

It was a pleasure working with Rolf and Derek on our dream kitchen. They walked us through each step of the process: design, picking out materials, and phases of construction. I really appreciated their expertise and guidance b/c a project of this scale can be somewhat stressful. The team, Doug and Jack, that worked in our house daily were amazing, always kind, pleasant, and polite. Kim, the expert spackler, did an AMAZING job! The Schroeders started our job early when we were on a pre-planned vacation, sparing us from demolition with 2 small children, and got it done early too, delivering before Thanksgiving. I would highly recommend Rolf without reservation, the process was so seamless. A tribute to his kindness is that our 2 year old asked for Mr. Rolf for a month after their departure. The pictures attached are the best I could do, they are missing one piece of crown molding that was installed the week after and now we are living through Corona quarantine. However, the pictures do not do it justice, I feel like I live in a magazine, it's beautiful.

To say that I pay attention to details would be an understatement. I met my match with Rolf Schroeder General Contractors, Inc. to discuss completely upgrading our kitchen In mid 2018. Our kitchen was approx 15 yrs old, it was dark & becoming outdated. We wanted windows put in a side wall to allow for afternoon sunlight, white cabinets, a dramatic black with brown undertone rub thru wooden range hood with a mantle to be the focus to compliment a large, custom entertainment center in the family room of same color. I also wanted a larger window over the sink with a granite, wide windowsill and custom trim work above so there is no need for curtains/valance, etc. as well as an alcove over the fridge with a dimmer light to display some of my favorite accessories. I tore out pages from magazines of ideas that I wanted to incorporate so when the time came, I could share my ideas of the finished look we envisioned. I just had to find a company that could see and produce our vision and even beyond. There is not doubt we choose the best. On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being the highest/perfection, I would give them a ten on their professionalism, knowledge, quality, and keeping me informed via a graph of what work will be done/time frame and stuck to it. They built a wall with a door to keep the dust/dirt confined to the kitchen along with using a dust extractor exiting out a window. (That made such a difference)! In the end, the kitchen won The NARI 2019 Contractor of the Year for Residential Kitchen. I would highly recommend a consultation with Rolf Schroeder General Contractors before hiring anyone else to complete your project.

Rolf Schroeder is a homeowner's dream. Their workmanship is outstanding, and communicating with the homeowner about any problems or concerns is A plus. They did a major master bathroom remodel of us in 2014. The design and suggestions they provided were great and all the people involved were considerate and reliable. The other thing we welcomed was how they stayed to the proposed schedule and budget with no problems. They recently did a window replacement project that was also superb. When they do a job it is done right with no angst for the homeowner. Very highly recommended.

I recently purchased my first home and decided to hire Rolf Schroeder General Contractors to perform a small cabinet modification, plumbing, and other general contracting work. I was worried at first, judging by their posted projects, that they wouldn't have time for me. Was I WRONG. Despite my small budget, they were eager to work with me. They replaced my attic stairs, setup my kitchen for a gas range and range hood, and are currently working on my laundry room. Finding a contractor you trust is important and I've found mine!!!

Ambiance Design

We have supplied Rolf and Derek's client with window treatments after they have completed the remodel. This teams attention to detail is second to NONE. Recently, we worked with them on a project where their client needed motorized window treatments. Rolf served as a go-between with us and the client to ensure that all the clients needs are met. He even brought him to our showroom for the initial meeting. Now THAT'S customer service.
