Nested. Design + Build

Very disappointing experience and would not recommend using Nested. We terminated our agreement prior to starting construction due to a large budget discrepancy that should have never happened. *Update* Responding to the comment response below. We built in a final estimate of construction costs within a few short months of final bid. We needed this to be comfortable releasing full architectural, structural and engineered drawings for permit. At that point, Rebecca assured us that the project was within budget and ready to bid. No concerns regarding pricing. We pushed for a hard estimate, which was denied, and that’s where I went wrong. We trusted Nested and that was a mistake. We understand prices have increased, but we are not ok with the process Nested used to communicate this information or current status. Showing up with a bid nearly $100k over budget doesn’t work. For what it’s worth, Rebecca, you never sent us an updated bid before we terminated our contract. Nice try though. I would have thought a half a dozen emails and requests for updates would suffice. Guess not.

We were extremely pleased with Nested. Our remodeled bathroom is awesome. Every sub who worked on the project was exceptional—responsive, reliable, respectful of our home, etc. We can’t say enough.

Rebecca came to my rescue during a large home renovation. We were undertaking an entire 1970's house renovation with walls being removed, complete re-wire, plumbing, new drywall, etc. Rebecca came with detailed plans, ideas and suggestions. She walked me through the many, many decisions that had to be made and appreciated that I was a visual person and needed time to process. Our home turned out just as we wished with beautiful finishes & touches. She is patient and kind to work!

Thanks to Chris Joyce and all the great folks at Nested, our kitchen remodel was a complete success! They were very thorough in the first 3 meetings to be sure they understood exactly what we were looking for, could created a detailed bid and set very clear expectations of how everything would work. They were not the cheapest but were very reasonable and by far the most expert of 3 contracting companies we interviewed. I can’t say enough about the responsiveness of our Project Manager Chris Joyce. He made it easy to conduct our remodel with our golden retriever at the house while we were at work, he brought in very respectful sub-contractors and made sure our home was always clean even during major demolition. Three big calls outs: 1) The project did not go a penny over budget outside of new work I added after the project began, which Nested was gracious to adapt to. This is a testament to their detailed bid upfront. 2) The project was true to the 3 mo timeline every step of the way. They even had an app Where I could keep track daily! 3) The day after the project was done, we had a major windstorm that pushed a 100yr. old tree on top of our house and damaging the new electrical they had installed. Aside from the trauma of it all, Nested had someone out next day to bid the repairs and someone out to actually perform the work the day after. Considering how in demand electricians are, they didn’t have to go our of their way to do this but is a perfect example of the relationship they have build with us. RELATIONSHIP - that is the best word to describe what makes Nested one of the best companies we have worked with.

This was the third time we hired Rebecca. We gutted the kitchen and family room, installed LED lights and painted the golden oak wood to white throughout the house. We had a similar experience to the first two times of working with Rebecca. Rebecca is amazing. She designed the kitchen and family room, arranged for quotes from contractors, and managed the entire project for us. We were so comfortable with Rebecca that we went to Europe for three weeks during the remodel and left it all in Rebecca’s capable hands. Rebecca made the process easy, simple and within budget for us. We highly recommend her for any home remodel project.

I was extremely nervous and at the same time very excited about finally being able to remodel my kitchen. Our contractor referred me to Rebecca and it was the best referral ever. It is overwhelming deciding where to start and the many choices blew my mind. Rebecca took the time and asked the right questions as to what I would really like to see. Without her I’m sure I would have made some serious bad decisions. I am so very thankful for her guidance and great choices. What I also very much appreciate is she is available once your project is completed. I’ve had to reach out to her and very thankful she is there to assist. You won’t go wrong with Rebecca!!! All of the choices when remodeling our home were overwhelming. A friend recommended Rebecca and it was seriously the best money we have spent. She brought large color boards to help us choose paint colors. She drew up the big remodel areas such as the master bathroom so we could see it rather than just trying to visualize it. She took us on shopping trips for the plumbing (faucets, sinks, toilets, tubs), lighting, flooring and shower tiles. The number of choices in all of those stores is unbelievable. Just getting started is painful, but having Rebecca there to help us first choose a finish, then a style, etc. was so incredibly helpful. She really made it more enjoyable than painful, which we were so thankful for. We highly recommend her!

Rebecca and her team are the best. Design ideas are great. She listened to what we wanted, made some suggestions, and we ended up with a beautiful Master Bath. It was completed on time and below original budget. Install went smooth and installers were professional. Don't hesitate to call them! We are working on our kitchen design now and another bathroom!

I waited too many years before doing a kitchen remodel. But when it was time, I went to my favorite designer, Rebecca, at Nested. I had worked with her for several smaller projects and was alway very happy with the result. And WOW! I couldn't be happier with my kitchen. Rebecca advised me every step of the way; answered all my questions; and put up with my difficulty with decision making. I LOVE my white cabinets, with all the special features, my beautiful white with gray grout subway tile, and most of all, my beautiful calacatta marble counters. Rebecca gives great advice and is so easy to work with. I love working with her and her contractors. Why did I wait so long??

Rebecca is very knowledgeable and has a great design eye. We love our kitchen and I've not one complaint. She is thorough and professional with great follow-thru. Also a great hand holder and helps with decisions.

My husband and I hired Rebecca to design our kitchen and master bathroom. She did an incredible job. I love her work! These guys were amazing! They were careful through the house and made sure they didn't scratch the floors. They were quick, respectful, and a great delight to have around. We were doing a lot of home improvements and most people we didn't trust being in the house alone. However, with these guys we had no hesitation! Amazing work!

We have worked with Rebecca during our design phase of our home so that we could design the home my wife and I wanted but with the proper and efficient design. We have so enjoyed working with Rebecca and Nested! Her design accomplished all of what we wanted but didn't think would could have due to an odd shaped room. She offered several design options working through the pros and cons of each. Once it was time to choose finishes she was there to offer guidance and suggestions, but was never overbearing, allowing our desires to come first. She had cost saving ideas and advice on where to spend for the greatest impact. I have recommended her to several of my friends already - i would highly recommend Nested for design and remodel. We are in the middle of construction now and her scheduling advice i believe will keep us on track for an on-time finish. We will post pics once finalized.
