$500k+ landscaping/pool/ADU project completed in April 2021. Multiple list of issues that continues to grow; lights not working, wall peeling away on outdoor kitchen, fireplace not working, water feature not operating properly, the list goes on. I’ve been trying for over a year to get Scott to come and take a look, and if my texts and calls don’t go completely ignored (which is usually the case) he will provide some other reason why he can’t come and help (new phone, not feeling well, not his problem). I have had to pay other subs to come and fix the problems, because over 14 months of trying to get this company to come out was getting too much. I recommend looking elsewhere if you are seeking a high quality finish with an owner who cares whether it’s successful or not.

Bidscape Wholesale Plants

we're actually one of Modern West's vendors. Probably one of many who have not been paid by their company after providing goods. We supplied plant material for a number of their projects back in 2018. We have spent years trying to collect payment from them. Their excuses have ranged from "they forgot" to "we already sent payment", to "send us another invoice so we can pay by credit card". We have done our best to give them a fair chance to rectify the situation but have discovered that they are ultimately a dishonest group of people. If they aren't paying their vendors, imagine what kind of unpleasantries await you if you decide to hire them for your landscaping needs. Fair warning!

They were very professional, clean, honest & on time the entire time. We had several projects going at the same time, pool, spa, pizza oven, bbq, grading, sod, planting and everything was completed with 100% satisfaction & performed within a reasonable time frame.

They redesigned and executed a new backyard patio including pavers, raised flower beds, irrigation, and recycling and re-laying of old bricks into other parts of the yard. Excellent design work and excellent execution. Very nice people to deal with. Only complaint was that the job took much longer than anticipated (4 months vs. 6 weeks) largely due to their taking on other jobs meanwhile. Nevertheless, I would hire them again because of the high quality of their work.

Working with Modern West on a landscape design for our new home in coastal Encinitas has been a pleasure. After a thorough site walk the resulting plan implemented my thoughts and ideas into a functional and professional design. Brandon had listened. This is a very rare trait in today s industry of contractors trying to sell you their ideas and materials. We are moving towards stage two where we will finalize the plan and build a budget for the work to be done. I highly recommend this company.
