Karen, along with her partner Paul, remodeled our home recently. I can't say enough good things about her team's professionalism and dedication. I became acquainted with Karen when she did a presentation at the Architectural Heritage Center. When I contacted Karen, my bathroom needed to be updated. This was my first experience with remodeling and I felt overwhelmed. Karen helped me through each step of the design. She was quietly relentless in finding the perfect sink, paint colors, countertop, drawer handles, etc. I would have been completely lost without Karen's guidance. She listened to me as we walked through the design process and we became a team with the goal of creating a bathroom to suit my needs. Once we completed the design, I was assigned a team of experts who took care of each step. Every worker who entered my home was very efficient and extremely careful to wear a mask at all times. Paul, the project manager, kept me informed every day about the work that would be accomplished. He came to the job site each day to make sure that everything was running smoothly. He answered all my questions and made sure that I was aware of even the slightest change in the schedule. Cale, the lead carpenter, was a craftsman. Each step of the construction was handled carefully and expertly. He paid attention to each detail and treated the job as if it were in his own home. I couldn't be happier with the final result and I will not hesitate to contact Neil Kelly Co. again. Karen Richmond was the best designer I could hope for. Thank you, Karen, for your help, support and professionalism.

Karen walked my wife and I through the thorny thickets of re-doing an entire first floor. She is incredibly patient and knowledgable - we tested the limits of both :-) She spent a lot of time designing a backing area for our wood stove. This came out success beyond our expectations. My wife is SO happy that we listened to Karen's suggestions. We are both very happy about how things came together and look now that the remodel is complete.

Karen was most responsive to our needs, and used our time very efficiently on our full kitchen and 2.5 bath remodel and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. The design process was made very clear and easy and she guided us well. Paul Louis was project manager for the construction phase and coordinated well with Karen as the work came together. His construction schedule was accurate to the day, and all of the subs were very respectful of our home and did quality work. I highly recommend this team for any home remodel.

We're happy to recommend Karen wholeheartedly! She is organized, efficient, knowledgeable, and easy to communicate with. She made sure we had all of our materials chosen before the project even started, so we knew exactly what it would cost, and there was no running around at the last minute to choose tile or paint, etc. We've done a lot of remodeling in our hundred-year-old house and this project was by far, the most successful one: on time, on budget and the bathroom looks beautiful!

We rate Karen Richmond and the Neil Kelly team very high. Karen is a careful listener and a deightfully creative designer/problem solver. Karen andher colleagues always translated our wishes into practical and appealing improvements. Neil Kelly has now completed two large and two small projects for us, and we are pleased with them all. We first became interested in Neil Kelly 20 years ago because of its pioneering and effective use of sustainable building practices. These practices proved so important that numerous other companies--eventually--followed Neil Kelly's lead.

One of Karen's greatest strengths was her ability to listen and understand what we wanted to achieve. Her detailed plans and sketches gave us full confidence to proceed with the project. We enjoyed working with her every step of the way and do not hesitate to recommend her to friends. Our whole-house remodel was a total success (and won prestigious awards as well).

We first worked with Karen over 20 years ago on a major kitchen remodel in our 1908 home. Gut and rebuild is a better characterization. Karen walked us through every step and we had several add-ons once the walls were back to the studs. Who wouldn't redo the plumbing at that point? We have a beautiful and truly workable kitchen, dining area, and office all flowing together. The only thing we kept was the radiator and four double hung windows. Karen was committed to three things -- a working kitchen, beautiful craftsmanship, and integrating the new into our old home. Truly an asset to our house that still has people thinking it was done within the last couple of years rather than 20 years ago.

Karen was exactly what I was looking for. She listened to my ideas and made me feel like I knew what I was talking about even though I did not. She put me at ease right away. She was able to take my ideas and create designs that made sense, were within budget and reflected what I was envisioning. She did not hesitate to give suggestions and creative ideas that enhanced the whole project. She truly is gifted at her work and is a joy to work with besides.

My praises are high for Karen Richmond! Her positive "we can make this work" attitude prevailed through our extensive remodeling of an entire 6000 sq. ft. older home. There was never a "we can't do that" from Karen, it was always, "let's figure a way to do that." Karen takes extensive notes and draws and redraws until the design is just right.
