Drake and Sons

I used Paul Drake for a small job and would not use him again. His work was substandard, he did not complete on time, and he was unprofessional and sexist.

I have worked with Paul on large and small projects throughout the metro Vancouver area for the last 15 years. I enjoy working on Paul's job sites. The other sub-trades are always on time and professional. I know Paul faces the same challenges as other contractors, but I've never seen him at a loss for a solution. I think it's because he thinks ahead. And he always makes sure that whenever I come to one of his jobs, he's always there to handle any questions I have. It makes it a lot easier to just focus on doing the best work I can.

I am a General Contractor and have hired Drake and Sons to wield a hammer as well as manage trades on many home renovation projects. Scopes of Work included demolition and framing including complicated forming and concrete work and structural framing for large decks and interiors. Drake and Sons is conversant with all code and engineering parlance and is effective in dealing with plans,permits, inspections, engineering and municipal requirements. I've worked with Paul and company on and off over the years with many of my projects and I can honestly say he is one of the most forthright honest professionals that I have dealt with. I have hired Paul to lead several improvements to our house. Paul always does an exceptional job at a reasonable cost. He is honest, dependable, and a nice guy. On this project- our front porch, he went above and beyond to create something that is beautiful and functional. We discussed generally what I would like, and then he went about making it happen. His attention to detail is unmatched. He worked with engineers to improve and simplify the foundation design. He worked with the city to repair relationships damaged by a different contractor. He fixed our drain tile and foundation. He then installed a new porch and walls in a way that seamlessly tied in to the existing heritage house - check out those curved stairs! Lastly, the thing about Paul that impresses me the most is his accountability. Everyone makes mistakes. Not everyone admits it when it happens and fixes them. I will go out of my way to work with Paul again in the future.
