Stonebridge Crafted Homes

Stonebridge did a great job building our custom home. The build took over a year, so it was great to work with a team that truly cared about the project for that length of time. They were attentive to every small design detail, and were very flexible when changes or modifications had to be made to get things "just right"! We are very happy with the end result and appreciate the hard work taken to get there!

We were luck to find Stonebridge after 2 bad experiences with prior contractors (in the early design/costing stage of the project) that nearly scared us away from doing anything. When a local stone mason recommended Stonebridge, we made the call and we're surprised how quickly Mike was able to meet us for the initial consultation. Within 1 week we had an initial cost estimate and within 3 months we started the demolition. Our home is nearly 100 years old in a heritage home community so our desire was to expand the size without losing the heritage look. Mike worked very closely with us and our architect to design the addition which required tearing off the half story and building a full 2nd level. Having prior building experience I know enough to identify true skill and know-how, both of which Mike and his team displayed in spades. The scope of the project was estimated to take 6 months, in spite of nearly doubling the scope of the project during the process, Mike had us back in our home in under 7 months, a feat our neighbours and friends couldn't believe! We doubled the size of the home from 1800 sq/ft to over 3600 sq/ft and added substantial curb appeal making it a well known and admired home in the community. In the end, we were very satisfied with the project and the integrity with which Stonebridge managed it. We were on-site with Mike discussing tweaks and changes on a daily basis, to say the least we were a needy customer, but never an indication of frustration or impatience was ever felt from Mike and his team. Since completion, we have opened our home countless times for prospective Stonebridge customers and always revel in the positive feedback we get each time. We look forward to the possibility of future projects where we can once again use Stonebridge and we would highly recommend Stonebridge to anyone who has demanding expectations for integrity, quality, experience and expedience, as they deliver on all these qualities. (On another note, our home was devastatingly flooded by the nearby Elbow River 1 year after the project was completed. Mike showed up unannounced to help with the clean up and provided countless costly garbage dumpsters not only to us but the entire street as his contribution to all of those suffering through the disaster. He was also quick to engage all of the subcontract trades to get underway with the rebuild of our basement when most of my neighbours couldn't even source a plumber to install a new furnace. Not surprising once you get to know Mike.)

What started as a basement reno turned into a full gut of our 1950's bungalow to better accommodate our growing family. The team at Stonebridge was great to deal with. Stonebridge maintained open communication at all times, accommodated our likes and dislikes with ease and offered great ideas (drawing from their past experiences). The end result is fantastic and we are thrilled with our "new" home!
