My husband and I are new homeowners and therefore new to the home renovation process and looking back at our experience with Lauren and her team at Alchemy Collective, we wouldn't have been able to make it all happen without them and their expertise. Not only is Lauren highly attentive and pays attention to every last detail when it comes to your asks, preferences, etc. but is also so talented at anticipating your needs and wants before we even knew. A home renovation project never goes perfectly although Lauren and her team rode the waves with us together hand in hand - it truly was the best partnership. We learned so much throughout the process from start to end and always felt like Lauren had our best interests at heart and wanted the best outcome for us. We have wrapped up our project and will be forever grateful for Lauren and her team - our dream home is now complete. I am very sad to say that I would not recommend Lauren Martin Moro. She charged a retainer fee of $7500 to help us furnish two rooms in our home (no remodeling, just furniture). $7500 later, weeks after what was meant to be the initial delivery, we received a template of cheap looking furniture options that in no way reflected our Pinterest boards or the questionnaire we were asked to fill out at the start of the process. As well, the floorplans lacked any meaningful measurements or scaling. We felt scammed and ended the relationship before moving into the next stage. Who knows what our final bill would have been. After trying to keep almost all of the $7500 and weeks of back and forth, Lauren finally agreed to return half of the retainer. She was trying to charge us for 30 hours of work at a $250/day rate for what looked like a powerpoint presentation of cheap furniture images (no source/vendor information, no measurements, many pieces we discovered came from big-chain retailers and were not vintage as we’d asked). I made a similarly formatted template in powerpoint in under two hours that was better curated and had vendor details. This showed me how misleading her approach was. This is our first home. To have this be our first experience with a decorator, was very upsetting. We felt completely duped. I woke up with a pit in my stomach for weeks. I urge you to think twice about hiring Lauren.

We've worked with tons of designers, and Lauren hits the mark every time. She's organized, gracious, easy going, and delivers great service to happy clients. It has been over 1/2 a year since our project was completed and now, after working with a new designer I can compare my experience and express how disappointed I am with LMDA. There was an incredible lack of price transparency, poor communication, significant delays, miss-managed expectations, unmet promises, etc. I had to do a significant amount of follow-up on my end and it was clear that our project was not a priority. I was excited for our project as she was referred to us, but the whole thing has left a terrible impression. She heavily emphasized wanting to do a full-install, meaning we had to wait for the bulk of our furniture to come in, that meant a lot of furniture just sat in the warehouse when we could have used it at home. After the install day, I noticed that the largest and heaviest cabinet was not anchored to the wall and there were holes left in the walls from moving window treatments. I had to arrange a handyman to do a ton of repair work. They also installed a broken ceiling lamp and didn't say anything until I pointed it out. She ordered window treatments that were too long and tried to sell it as a "romantic vibe" that they were 6" bunched on the floor and looked super sloppy. Lauren brought an insane amount of decor that amounted to an extra of 20% of the total original budget. She had also promised to treat chairs we ordered in her warehouse but then after ordering said they were unable to do it, of course I only found this out after I followed up. It was a lot of upfront promises and yes's and then when I followed-up she said she could not do it. It seemed that her main priority was to take pictures of the house with thousands of dollars of her decor for her website. There are some other great designers out there, I would not recommend LM Design Associates.

It's been such a joy working with Lauren and we can't wait until we have another project to collaborate on. She is so talented, communicative and sensitive to our budget. It's been a year of change- jobs, tenants, homeschooling and she has been flexible, smart and creative with all of her solves. She is the best!

I am obsessed with Lauren! A few years ago she helped me make a rental really feel like a home. My partner and I have different tastes, but Lauren was immediately able to hone in on the balance that would make both of us happy. She helped create a cozy, functional space sourcing furniture and accessories from multiple places and at different price points. Visitors would always comment on how welcoming our home was which was exactly what we were going for. This year we bought our first home and worked with Lauren and her team to do a quick facelift on the kitchen and refinish the floors throughout. I was 37 weeks pregnant at the time and it was a relief to have Lauren's expert eye to help make critical decisions and quickly make the home our own. Lauren provided plenty of recommendations and options, but she never overwhelmed me. She makes her choices carefully and gently guided me in all of my selections. The team she brought in to redo the floors and fix up the kitchen were top notch. They were talented, respectful, and all very aware of my timeline. Lauren was amazing at communicating with them and making sure the choices we made were relayed to keep work moving - all in the middle of a pandemic! Lauren has great taste, works quickly, and pulls together the best teams. Working with her is always a dream! I can't recommend her enough.
