Professional and great communicators. Zinnia, Chris, & team did a fantastic job renovating 2 bathrooms in my 1890s Victorian house as well as updating / fixing other maintenance related items. I was very impressed with the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and great communication through the entire process. As part of walking them through some of the other issues (apart from the bathrooms) which needed fixing with the house (including installing permanent lally columns in the basement), Chris identified an issue with the house’s foundation that was missed by the home inspection report and did a fantastic job remediating it along with all the other items we discussed. At the end of the day, I would highly recommend them to other homeowners and will definitely be reaching back out to them if I need help with other projects.

HWD won my interviews of contractors with their professional but friendly style. I felt confident in their estimations and design suggestions. In the end I hired them to handle a second job in addition to our contract for a master bath and guest bath renovations and replacement windows. We are thrilled with our gorgeous master bath which they created from the studs. the guest bath for the children is beautiful as well. They also replaced the front sill of our 1850 home and worked quickly, considerately and very professionally. The carpenters never left a mess and I felt free to discuss my opinions and felt heard. Their tile and other design suggestions were spot on with my vision. We would certainly recommend and hire this company again

Our job was a significant, architecturally designed renovation of a portion of our house. The work was quite complex in many ways, the time period was about 5 months. I highly recommend this company. Lance Hodes, the principal, was responsive and very helpful during the process. The issues that came up were discussed and resolved. Lance had the timing of his carpenters and the subcontractors choreographed to virtual perfection. There might have been maybe 2 days that we didn't see workers in the entire time. His pricing was fair and transparent, including pricing for change orders. The work was wonderful, and we're very happy with the renovation.

Haydenville designed and built a wall of cabinets in my kitchen a few years ago. This required installing a stacked washer/dryer behind panelling and moving a sink a few feet. All the cabinet work was an exact copy of the existing colonial-style panelling. The work was done perfectly in their home shop and installed here. The workmen were excellent and fun to be with.

My husband and I have only good words for Lance and his crew. The design of our bathroom included the functionality we needed for a handicapped user while creating an arts and crafts style that resulted in a room that was anything but institutional. The custom cabinets were crafted as furniture that included special functional features such as a mirror which pivoted to reflect the image of the seated user. The actual build of the project was a challenge as it occurred in an 1860's post and beam farm house. Their experience and love of old homes solved every problem. The work crew and /or contractors were on site almost every day, and more than once on weekends. The crew is talented, friendly and very aware of the impact their presence has on the homeowner. The outcome was worth every penny..

We have used Haydenville Woodworking and Design for decades in keeping our buildings in order. This they have done through new design and building, or in repair. One recent job was taking out the sag in our great kitchen chopping block, which they did with very long screws and lovely plugs. The more recent job was to lift up the south side of our barn and build a new sill. During this operation they noticed a V-crack at the peak of the roof, and on inspection discovered (which we had never noticed) a total absence of collar ties! That problem they remedied in short order. You may know what it's like to have building contractors for an old house who are like family and whom you always trust to get it right without breaking the bank. It happened to my parents, and now it is happening to us. These guys save the day, every time, with great skill.

Lance Hodes and Haydenville re-did our guest bathroom and drew up plans for a more extensive master-suite renovation. Lance had good ideas; the crew was friendly and responsible; the work is gorgeous and tasteful. Be aware, however, that Haydenville is a high-end way to go -- very expensive, very lovely work.

We are very pleased with the work of Haydenville Woodworking in building our new house. The project started, and finished, on schedule, and the completed home reflects everything we wanted. The work crew was skillful and courteous, and the on-site supervisor was outstanding - steady and efficient, and even more important, kind and thoughtful. We felt that we were well taken care of during the building process. Finally, after we moved in, Haydenville Woodworking continued to address anything that needed follow-up.

Beautiful workmanship and craftmanship. Professional team that keeps client informed of progress and works well together, especially with subcontractors. Work included large scale renovations, new construction and added garages to a 1919 Tudor style home. All renovations beautifully add to the existing architecture of the home.

I used Lance and his company to build our house in 2005. He introduced us to an architect that he had work with on a different project. We were pleased with the design and implementation. He does expert detailed work and used the best of materials. The result was superb and we lived in the house for 7 years before need to sell and transfer due to work. The house sold quickly in a very tight market.

Lance Hodes and all of the people working with and for him have been great. We have used Haydenville Woodworking & Design to perform repairs, replace our kitchen and certain floors, update many aspects of our house, and design and build a beautiful display wall furniture for our living room over three different years. They have always been respectful, reliable, attentive to details, and priced the work fairly. The quality of the work is excellent. We engaged Haydenville Woodworking for each of the last three years, starting in April 2009, and have never had a problem.

I have hired Haydenville Woodworking and Design twice. This gives an idea of how pleased I am with their work. They redid my master bathroom and the powder room. Each project came out better than I had hoped. Their construction work and their cabinetmaking are excellent. In addition, they were the most pleasant work people I have ever had around. The estimate was very clear and Lance explained all charges in detail. I would not consider using any other company. If you hire Haydenville you will be happy with your project.
