Michael and Beth were fabulous and we are still so pleased with our home. They were wonderful throughout the design process which was very collaborative. We came to them with lots of designs and ideas for a home for our blended family. They were very responsive to our needs and desires while utilizing their considerable expertise and experience to improve upon our ideas and make them work. They bring a wonderful blend of practicality and aesthetics to the table. Highly recommended.

My wife and I came to Michael and Beth with a list of things that we wanted to have in the green, energy-efficient, solar home that we wanted Michael to build for us. Over the course of five or six design iterations, Beth took our desires and feedback each time and honed and refined the plans. Throughout, we were very pleased with the ease of working with Beth and Michael – we felt that they listened to our concerns and interacted with us as equal partners in the design process. We then went ahead and had Michael build that design into an award-winning, extremely livable home. We are currently averaging about $84/month for electricity, our only energy source. I have no qualms about recommending Michael and Beth – they gave us all that we hoped for and more.

Beth and Michael put so much thoughtful intention and creative energy into their designs. I was so amazed at how, after our home was completed, there were so many architectural details that reflected the ideas and desires that my husband and I had discussed in our consults. Our home is a warm and beautiful work of art and we could not be happier living here and raising our children within this space. Beth and Michael are incredible to work with; they make the process simple and provide options and alternatives that incorporate a client's vision while being respectfully mindful of their budget. They are a dream team, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is seeking out unique, green, and innovative designs.

When we embarked on building our dream home, Michael and Beth came highly recommended through a friend in the industry at the time. Our initial attraction and priority was to ensure we chose a builder who built environmentally conscious (green) homes. Having elements in our home that were "green" was important. Equally, we wanted style, design, livability, and luxury, We feel everything was achieved in our home! Michael and Beth are involved throughout the design and build process. They accommodate suggestions and yes, sometimes changes - listening to and incorporating feedback openly. With their experience, they also bring valuable suggestions to the design and build decisions which are helpful. It is evident they take personal pride in their work and home they build for their clients. We are now 2 years in our Chandler Design-Build home and we love it just as much as we did the day we moved in!

Michael and Beth designed our dream home in 2009 and we’ve loved it ever since. They were very organized throughout the planning process, keeping the meetings and subject matter brief and manageable for each session to avoid overwhelming us, which was greatly appreciated! The resultant design was original and well-executed. We were especially impressed with the engineering of a vaulted ceiling without the clutter of support beams, and the creation of recessed spaces and lighting to feature cherished personal belongings. They also maintained excellent relationships with high-value subcontractors in the area, which resulted in reasonably-priced, quality workmanship on all phases of the building project. Highly recommended!

We hired Michael and Beth to design our new home on a large wooded lot. They spent time with us, first in their office and then on the property, and finally, in our current house, attempting to understand how we live and what is important to us in terms of space and utilization. Following that, Beth came up with several concepts for our consideration, and helped us narrow down choices quickly, allowing us to focus on the most important design elements. Once the basic physical structure was in place, Michael used his experience with Green building to help us narrow down key aspects to provide options to meet our needs and to do so in a cost effective manner. They worked with us without injecting their biases or opinions. In the end, the house design was more aesthetically pleasing than we had imagined that it would be. We look forward to the completion of our home in 2018.

Michael and Beth designed and built our home in 2007. They met with us, listened to our wants and designed a space that fit our needs and exceeded our expectations. After the initial design Michael and Beth helped us find the ideal building site on our 10+ acres. It was obvious they had done this before, responding to our wishes for privacy, a sunny garden and a view. Michael cleared the land creating space for house and garden with water and energy conservation in mind. They suggested a landscaper who designed the garden. During construction Michael made suggestions that we had not thought of and that improved functionality and ultimately our quality of life. For example, I wanted stone on the island and Michael suggested wood, because its warmth is inviting to the touch and people would enjoy standing around it. A minor point but one that I appreciated every day and that I am sure our guests appreciated during social gatherings. There were many creative touches. The entire project from design to move in took almost a year. Michael would provide periodic updates on cost and expenditure. He made suggestions so that if we spent more in one place, (the farm sink and glass tiles over the range) we might cut costs in other places that would not change the overall look. Perhaps the biggest challenge was knowing when to stay with our own vision or go with a Chandler suggestion. In the end, we moved into a spacious and warm house, with an aging in place design, aesthetically beautiful with quality construction. Even the shed was awesome.

We are thrilled we hired Beth and Michael to design a renovation/addition. From day one they listened to our needs, immediately made design suggestions, and instilled in us a sense of confidence in their experience. Since then they delivered an amazing design with thoughtful suggestions for materials and energy efficiency. They continue to be open to revisions and helping us discover what it is we are ultimately wanting in our new spaces. Michael and Beth will not be building our project but they will act as consultants to help us select a builder to build a high quality project at a reasonable cost. They sat in on one meeting so far with a prospective builder and their experience shined through immediately. Beth presented the design concept and communicated our vision while Michael shared the nuts and bolts of the construction details. After the meeting we knew their role in the next phase of the project is invaluable. They are definitely looking out for our best interests. We look forward to seeing our project be built with Beth and Michael as our allies.
