I have dealt with Lance a number of times and this guy is so knowledgeable it's crazy,I respect his input tremendously. I have bought Monitor Audio 300 silver series speakers AND Monitor Audio Studio bookshelves and very happy with both sets.He is my go to guy for stereo equipment and will be using him again shortly.

We required a TV wall mount installation for our 70 inch along with a complete surround sound system. We purchased these on our own and Lance provided the install. He was very meticulous and ensured us that we would see no wires. When he completed the project, everything looked amazing and no wires were visible at all. He was also very neat and made sure that no mess was left behind as a result of the new outlet holes he needed to drill for. He is the best that I have seen and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him for any audio/visual job!!!

I originally contacted Lance Shevchuk at Forefront Audio regarding a used turntable he had listed for sale. Unfortunately for me, the table had already been sold. Over the next few weeks we corresponded frequently via email and telephone. He ALWAYS responded promptly via email, and was more than willing to spend time with me on the phone, answering questions and sharing opinions and experiences in a very friendly, knowledgeable, and decidely low-pressure manner. VERY much appreciated. I ended up buying a new VPI turntable from him at an excellent price, and he spent a considerable amount of time setting up the 'table and cartridge properly with the excellent tools at his disposal. Not only does he work hard FOR his customers, but he is also willing to work WITH his customers, helping me to inspect some other "classic" cartridges I had brought with me and explaining every step of the alignment process. Lance is one of the rare dealers who is knowledgeable and experienced, but who is also willing to say "I don't know" when he doesn't. Instead of making up an answer or pretending to be an expert on everything, he always followed up by making contacts and researching the answers and getting back to me when he was unsure of the answer personally. GREAT, honest service. There's a lot of "snake-oil" in the audio industry in my opinion, not to mention very high pressure salespeople. While Lance does stock an assortment of very high end power cables and interconnects and was willing to discuss their properties and his experiences with them, he never even SLIGHTLY pushed any additional sales and didn't denigrate my desire to continue building my own cables. Again, most "audio salons" would have been aghast that I wasn't willing to pair my new VPI turntable with "value-matched" commercial cables. Not Lance. Kudos and, again, VERY much appreciated. I have absolutely nothing negative to say regarding my entire experience with Lance and Forefront Audio. At this point, I guess the only appropriate finish to this review is to use the too-oft-used phrase found at the end of most reviews found in your favorite high-end audio publications... "Highly Recommended."

When seeking out a new audiophile company in Rochester I came across Forefront Audio. Lance has been extremely helpful and unlike some other places in town that try to pressure you into a purchase Forefront Audio will not pressure you. You can tell that Lance loves what he does and wants to help you make the best upgrades to your system within your budget. He goes way above and beyond to make sure things are perfect. Lance also spends extra time trying different setups and concepts with you to make sure that each configuration is the right fit for the individual. I have been very happy with my new speakers, amplifier and turntable. I am a return customer and will continue to be for a long time.

For anyone looking to upgrade or expand their audio gear I would recommend talking with Lance at Forefront Audio. When I was looking to purchase a new integrated tube amp he not only was able to secure the piece I was looking for but he also helped me in the tube selection. He let me demo the piece in his shop to make sure it was what I was looking for and really took the time to help me with my questions. When I asked him about interconnects he let me take home two sets to do the classic A/B comparison. After I chose the pair I liked better and placed my order he let me keep both sets I was choosing between until my new set came in. So what more can I say, anyone that loves music and/or is an audiophile and lives between Buffalo and Syracuse needs to give Forefront Audio a try. He has helped me take my rig to the next level and it did not break the bank.

Been an audiopile for 40 years. I found Been an audiopile for 40 years. I found Lance from Forefront Audio thru Sota turntable site. I was initially impressed with his knowledge of not only the audio/video world, but his intuition of what I wanted and how best to achieve it. Matching components is an art. His recommendations has made my system top notch and a joy to listen to every day. Lance is a professional and a great guy.

We contacts Lance for some electrical work (to install a 20A socket and special noise filter for our stereo system) as well as an upgrade to our stereo system (a new high end Phono amp). The nice thing about Lance is that he was prompt and brought everything to our house to demonstrate the improvement to our stereo as well as to install the filter and socket on the spot. His price was competitive and his service was over the top good - he talked with me about my wants and needs over and found a way to get what I was after for much less than I thought. He has the best brands in the area, is knowledgeable, makes house calls, and most importantly will keep you from spending money wastefully - he really does analyze what you have and what you want to do, and comes up with a high value way to get there. Our stereo has never sounded better since we started working together, for a lot less than I ever imagined. I look forward to working with him going forward as well.
