I have a problem with Datasmart with regard to their technician who installed the audio and visual hardware in our new home soon after we moving in, and their followup corrective action policy as was explained by your Jess. The problem is that the new, out of the box 75” 4K TV was hooked up by their technician to a COMCAST cable box…. even though the box was not transmitting a 4K signal. Unknowing to me, I was not getting the benefit of 4K TV viewing. Note the following: First of all I did not know that there was such a thing as a non 4K, and 4k cable box. Their technician should be completely aware of this, and he should have notified me so I could get the correct cable box. I did not learn until a few months later that the Comcast cable box he hooked the 4K TV up to was not transmitting a 4K signal to the TV. Note that he programmed the $649.00 Universal Remote Control MX-450 and it worked okay with the non 4K TV. When I changed to the 4K TV cable box, the remote no longer works. I called their office today and talked with Jess. She said Datasmart did not warranty their work as the cable box was the wrong one, and there would be a $125/hr. charge for a technician to attend this remote programming. To me, as a novice end user of such technical equipment, feel that Datasmart follow service should have a more favorable working relationship with your customers. To the end users of Datasmart installed equipment, be aware of their practices as mentioned above and their unfriendly customer service, not to mention the extra charges they want to charge for a service that would not be necessary if their initial installation service was performed professionally and to industry standards. The bottom line is that I have elected not to have them come to my house and reprogram the $649 TV remote at a cost of $125/Hr. Datasmart should be more customer orientated.
