The Open Cupboard

I have been working with The Open Cupboard for three years and they are a great company to work with. They are very easy to work with because of their responsiveness and communication skills. Their attention to detail ensures a smooth execution of the completed design without a lot of delays that can be common with other companies. I am always happy to work with any of the designers, because they all share the same work ethic, enthusiasm, professionalism and skill. Their designs are beautiful and I highly recommend them.

We worked with Nick Bush on a complete remodel of our main floor/kitchen. He's a total pro who knows his stuff. He was very adept at capturing a sense of our likes, dislikes, and lifestyle and was able to guide our design with great focus. He's extremely attentive to detail and quality workmanship. We will work with him again!

I hired them to redo two different bathrooms in my house. The design process was fun and easy and they have turned out great! Both bathrooms have completely different styles, but they work with the age of the house and my personal style as well. The work has been meticulous as well. They are very responsive when needed and they have made sure that everything has been just right. They are great and I would definitely recommend them.

The Open Cupboard started with our kids bathroom and did a great job. From there we had the raise the drop ceiling in our kitchen. Again, a great job - respectful of our house, kept things clean and finished every detail. Then we had them redo our master bathroom, including redesigning and moving walls and fixtures and adding a steam shower. We absolutely love it. We will eventually redo our kitchen, when the time comes we will have Open Cupboard do that as well!

I was extremely impressed and very satisfied with the work done by The Open Cupboard. They did my renovation in my kitchen more than 5 years ago, and I was very satisfied with the work and the service they performed. Recently, I had to replace a full length door and working with Nick Bush was exceptional. He was able to replace the door with the original mfg. and get the stain to match my cabinets that are 5 plus years old. If only all businesses had a Nick Bush to represent them, there would be no bad reviews for any one if that were the case. He is wonderful to work with and exceptionally professional.

We re-finished our kitchen with Chad and James about 5 years ago or so. They were fantastic. The process of ripping apart your kitchen with children and life carrying on around it is stressful, let alone wanting to be sure everything is done right. There was a snafu with how a floor-to-ceiling pantry fit into the planned space. It took some time for me to look back on it, but I was not my best self and surely was rude. Despite my high emotion, Chad was chill and reassuring. James, being the incredible carpenter he is, cut the pantry in half and re-worked it into a lower and upper cabinet instead. It looks perfect and no one can tell it was adjusted on-site. When we had a warranty issue, Chad even brought a representative from the cabinet company to our home to find solutions. When choosing a contractor, in addition to skill, you have to think about the fact that these people will be in your house every day. These guys are classy, kind, considerate and perfectly comfortable to have in your and around your family and pets. I actually missed James when they were done. They even cleaned up perfectly at the end of each day. You cannot go wrong with them. They are decent human beings, even you are not being one to them:), and very talented as well.

When I first moved into my house a few years ago, I had some remodeling work I wanted to do in my bathroom. A friend recommended Nick Bush, one of the owners of The Open Cupboard. My bathroom is a small space, but Nick designed it in such a way that I was able to have a separate shower and a soaking tub, and the bathroom doesn’t feel crowded. Since then, Nick has designed my kitchen. I told him that I wanted more cupboard space, more counter top space, and I wanted it to feel more open. That is exactly what I got! He took out a wall, put in an island, and opened the wall between my family room and the kitchen with a bar. He also designed my fireplace including the hearth, wall tiles, and he helped me pick a new firebox that fit my style. The thing that makes Nick stand out to me is that he really takes the time to listen to what I want and need, and to learn what my tastes are. He helps pick everything out and coordinates all the colors and textures, and the results are amazing! Everything he has done for me not only fits my tastes and functionality needs, it all looks like it should be in a magazine. Nick is a very talented designer and he will work with you and will monitor the job from start to finish. He’ll even coordinate the contractors. I couldn’t recommend Nick Bush of The Open Cupboard strongly enough.

The team at Open Cupboard are true professionals from design to the finished product. Our project consisted of a complete new kitchen, remodeled family room and den. It was critical the team take our concerns and design a practical solution that provided the Wow factor. They were with us every step of the selection process(i.e. granite, tile,paint colors, etc.) making it much easier for us. The finished product exceeded our expectations in every way. Teena and I are so proud of our home and we feel that we made new friends with entire 0pen Cupboard team.

We learned of the Open Cupboard over 4 years ago when our neighbor across the street had them remodel their kitchen, then their next door neighbor had them remodel their kitchen and extended the remodel to other rooms. This perked our interest and as we were approaching the Open Cupboard we discovered our next door neighbor had actually engaged them to remodel - you guessed it – their kitchen and again, the remodel extended into other rooms. We proceeded to review and develop plans for our kitchen remodel and before we knew it we had expanded the remodel to a significant upgrade and updating of our home. We went from a typical late 80’s look to a very updated and contemporary home. They spent hours developing the plans, selecting the materials and we were confident that the installation would be of the highest quality. When a decision was required they thoroughly explained the alternatives available including cost, quality, and relationship to the other modifications we were making. We would highly recommend Nick, Chad, James and all of the team at the Open Cupboard for your remodel job.

I recently hired The Open Cupboard to design / remodel my kitchen. Nick was fabulous. I had a 1990's kitchen and Nick was able to see so much more than what was there. He completely changed the layout by moving appliances and cabinetry to take advantage of the space. He listened to what was important to me, worked within my budget, and designed a beautiful kitchen that I absolutely love. I do not have an eye for decorating so as we were going thru the build out, he made himself available to go with me to look at tile, paint samples, etc. He checked in with the contractor, monitored changes and communicated with me on a regular basis so I did not have to worry about anything. I strongly recommend The Open Cupboard!

Excellent company, we had our Kitchen remodeled by Chad and James.... Professional, always on time. Very reliable and pleasant to have around..... Highly recommend them..........

The Open Cupboard was great to work with. From the design to the install everything went smoothly. They always showed up when scheduled and always cleaned up at the day's end. Highly recommend them.
