We have worked with Jim for years and if you want to work with someone who is professional, knowledgeable and skilled then he is the designer to call! He clearly understands his trade and the amount of details involved to make your experience second to none!

So after living with the same kitchen since I bought my home in the early '80s, it finally occurred to me that it was time for an upgrade. A friend recommended Jim, so I gave him a call. I had NO idea what I wanted. I was like a blank slate waiting for ideas and words. Thank goodness for Jim. He came to our home, took a look at what we had, gently suggested a few ideas, and we were off. The most impressive part of working with Jim was his quiet guidance. He was completely respectful of my ideas for cabinets and counter top and sink, but when he sensed I was making a mistake, he gently guided me to a FAR better option. I think the word was "endorsed." I'd say something about a black sink, and he'd say, "I'm not sure I'd endorse that choice," and, man, thank goodness I chose a color he endorsed! Believe me when I tell you, Jim's endorsement is the gold standard! He was present at all critical steps in the planning and renovation. He returned calls promptly. He hand delivered the little, extra items like last-minute hardware orders, and he took a personal interest in the end result. In truth, ours was a relatively small project for Jim. He has far bigger clients with far costlier projects. Even so, he gave our little kitchen what I would guess is the same enormous care and attention he gives to all of his projects.

Jim Bruyn and I started in the business about the same time. He as a drafts person and beginning designer and I as an installer. We both worked on high end projects with very high standards and expectations. Recently we reconnected as I am having him work with a client of mine as their kitchen designer. His professionalism, reliability, and designs are everything I was expecting. I will be looking forward to future projects with Jim.

While this firm was knowledgeable, the designer missed deadlines and really did not seem to listen to what we wanted in the project. I had to constantly stay on top of the project. I understand there were other things going on with the designer at the time but I lost confidence in him because of his lack of oversight. The designer knew the bathroom design area and about new environmentally friendly products but overall was unable to understand our sensibilities.
