I began working with Steve Harris years ago with my sketch of my “wished for house” and Steve made my “dream home” come to life - a Virginia Piedmont, Jeffersonian classic. He provided the design and implementation for my house and all if its interior design and furnishings, as well as all the landscape design and implementation for my estate. Over the years we have continued to work together to improve my property - implementing further additions to the interior furnishings and decoration, adding a stable, and continuing to develop the landscape with gardens, and plantings. Steve has been integrally involved in all of these areas and even took on the roll of general contractor as the need arose during construction of my house and grounds. Carroll Langston

My husband and I engaged Steve Harris to design and oversee the addition of a second storey for our house. It is a work of art and a haven: functional, beautiful, comfortable--master bedroom/bath, office-cum-studio; outside balcony overlooking the Blue Ridge. He is a creative architect and also has the amazing ability to discern our wishes, when we are unable to articulate them, and then translate them into reality. He has also designed and executed a flagstone terrace and decorative garden for us. His talents are unlimited. He continues to be a valuable consultant on many matters, from architecture to landscape design to interior design, from oriental rugs to antique furniture. A true Renaissance Man. Nancy Campbell

I hired Steve to design and install the entry gardens to our house. The location was a fairly steep slope that was difficult to mow, and in full sun. I wanted year-round interest, but not requiring frequent planting or tending. With a combination of hollies, nandinas, barberries and several focal point trees, my entry gardens look great all year. Steve oversaw the tilling of yards of compost to improve water retention and enrich the existing soil. Plants were carefully set out according to his plans and have blended into a harmonious tapestry. As a long time gardener, I was impressed with Steve's knowledge of plant material and the way he combined it. He is easy to work with and has an artistic eye. I would highly recommend his services.
