My passion for design has grown over the last 16 years. I hold a Masters of Interior Design from The Boston Architectural College. I founded my first design firm in Boston serving international & local clients in commercial, aviation & luxury homes. Flat Pack Kitchen Design was founded in 2019 in the midst of COVID, initially specializing in IKEA & designing over 80 kitchens across the US in the first year. In 2021, expanding to a full range of design services from requests by real estate brokers & developers. Our 1st, ground up, 6 unit development at 2341 W Adams, was nominated by Chicago Agent Magazine for Development of the Year & featured on HGTV House Hunters Season 207 Ep. 4. by the end of 2021. Today clients include not only IKEA kitchen & bath designs, but developers of multi unit & custom homes & condos, real estate brokers, restaurateurs, builders & homeowners across the US. Since 2021 completing projects nationwide that include; 13+ new construction developments, 2 restaurants, 40+ private homes & 200+ IKEA kitchens. We are grateful for the article featuring our latest design of The Monroe Collection in Chicago's East Garfield Park featured in Crain's Business Journal on 12/4/2023, for breaking records in highest sold properties in under 2.5 weeks with a total sell out of $1,930,000. We utilized Flat Pack Kitchen Design this year to assist us with remodeling our kitchen with Ikea cabinets. We worked with Melinda, who was a delight to work with and she provided us with lots of design and planning details we would have never come up with on our own to make a spectacular kitchen both in design and functionality. Her suggestions for hardware, countertops, sink, faucet and decorative brackets added to a very custom look. We would happily recommend Flat Pack Kitchen Design to anyone in Chicagoland.

Melinda is a wonderful, easy going and hard working person. We met Melinda while working on a new construction multi unit development in Chicago at 2341 W Adams. Every year we work on few hundred + units in the Chicago area and this time we were very happy make cabinets that were out of the box. Melinda selected very unique and trendy finishes for each unit. New development turned out great and units were sold within few months. Currently we are working with Melinda on few custom projects. Melinda is very easy to work with, respond quickly to emails and phone calls always finds flexible time to meet with here in the office or on the job site. I strongly recommend Melinda, she is a great designer and real estate agent that knows the market and always help her clients to make the right decisions.

Melinda at Flat Pack was great to work with. She listened carefully to our ideas and very quickly created an elegant design. I asked for some revisions and she quickly delivered those as well. She was highly responsive online or by phone. Pricing was extremely reasonable. But ultimately what matters most is that when the design was actually built out in our kitchen, it worked and looks awesome.

Melinda was invaluable as we began our kitchen remodel. Navigating the process of designing an IKEA kitchen - that doesn’t look like an IKEA kitchen - is not easy to do on your own. Melinda’s experience really came through in a thoughtful design that balances our small-ish space and need for ample storage with a custom look. She brought us numerous ideas that we never would have come up with on our own and helped us land on a final option that is both beautiful and functional. She represents an outstanding value and we have already started referring her to family and friends. Don’t hesitate to partner with her on your next project, she’s awesome!
