Our company was founded in the mid 1950s by John Desmond when he supplied builders with cabinetry for the post World War II housing boom. He discovered that his true passion was as a hotelier and sold the business to his sales manager Franklin Hartzell. Frank had years of experience in the kitchen industry and developed the business. Frank continued to run the company with his sons Bill & Don until his death in 1994. Since then, they have been joined by Don's son, Chris, to complete three generations of Hartzells at Desmond Wholesale Distributors Inc. The wholesale cabinet business like most businesses is about people and service. There are many different cabinets available today, but what sets DWD apart from other suppliers is our commitment to our customer. We begin with design and supply the appropriate cabinet for each individual project. We then follow through to ensure complete satisfaction from the builder to the consumer.

Oh my goodness. I cannot say enough INCREDIBLE things about Desmond Whole Distributes. I initially reached out to another kitchen design company C&R Building Supply in Philadelphia. I had the worst experience and it took 2 months of going back and forth just to carve out tine to get the design done. In frustration I started googling kitchen cabinet companies in Philadelphia and cane across Desmond Wholesale. Within 24 hours I heard back from Chris and another 24 hours later he was at my hone taking measurements. The follow up, attention to detail, professionalism and approachability are unlike anything I’ve experienced. I loved my experience, the recommended products and the end result so much. In fact, I’m using them for my butlers pantry, laundry room and in law suite kitchenette. They have a customer for life from me.

When we started planning our kitchen renovation we were working with another cabinet company. We were not happy with the way that company was handling our project. A business associate recommended Chris Hartzell at Desmond Wholesale Cabinets. Chris and his dad came to our home to get a visual perspective of our project (something the other company would not do). Their professionalism and attentiveness to our vision was exceptional. Our project took 3 months to complete. There were numerous meetings, phone calls, emails, and choices to be made. Excellent service, quality products, knowledge, dependability were among the qualities we experienced with Chris. Chris Hartzell and Desmond Wholesale Cabinets helped us to see our dream kitchen become a reality!

Chris and Don at Desmond Wholesale were a joy to work with. I can't say enough great things about them. I worked primarily with Chris. He always responded promptly to my communications, took the extra time to explain all of my questions, followed-up on his commitments when he said he would, and consistently went above and beyond expectations not only providing direction on my cabinets, but also helped me find my granite countertops and bathroom vanities as well (just to try to make my life easier- I mean c'mon- that's service!). I can honestly say Chris went out of his way to be extra helpful, and as a stressed out first time home buyer practically flying blind, I couldn't be more appreciative. Thank you Desmond Wholesale!

Chris was a pleasure to work with and responded promptly. He made cabinet shopping completely less stressful and more fun. We were able to design a stunning kitchen for the right price. A friend of mine highly recommended Desmond Wholesale Distributors for my cabinets when renovating my kitchen. I consulted with Don, who was extremely knowledgeable and such a pleasure to work with. He was very patient and gave me great guidance and advice, preparing several layouts with me and answering my many questions, helping me feel at ease. I am very pleased how my new kitchen turned out, starting with the absolutely beautiful cabinets I purchased from DWD at a very reasonable price. We worked with Chris of Desmond Wholesale Distributors. We explained what style of cabinet and wood we wanted. He brought, to South Jersey from Philadelphia, several samples to our home and took measurements. Within a few days Chris emailed a finished full design. He was very easy to work with as we changed the design several times over the next few weeks. All of our questions were quickly answered via email. Our cabinets were completed within timelines established and Chris was kind enough to store them for us, since the kitchen was still under construction. Once we were ready, they were delivered to our doorstep and put up by our contractor. We have been enjoying our re-modeled kitchen and thoroughly thrilled with the soft close doors and drawers which were standard in the all wood, made in USA cabinet. We highly recommend Desmond Wholesale Distributors as the first place one should contact for any needed new cabinets.

Desmond Wholesale was excellent to work with from start to finish. From coordinating the initial walkthrough to their timely responses to my follow-up inquiries/questions well after the cabinet installation was complete, the Desmond team is professional and committed to client service. I hired Desmond for assistance in the design/cabinet layout for my kitchen renovation. They worked well with me, as well as the other trades that were hired for my project. This was my first renovation, so I appreciated the Desmond team's insight and expertise throughout the entire project. They encouraged my creativity in the kitchen layout and cabinet selection, but more importantly, they knew when to contribute their professional opinion in order to take the project to the finish line. I am so pleased with my kitchen!
