Chappell Architecture began with Craftsman and Architect Dylan Chappell, whose work in Santa Barbara over the last decade has explored the relationship between buildings and their environment. Dylan started the firm based on simple ideas: that buildings can serve as a link between culture, nature, and the people that inhabit them. Our firm has also adopted the Architecture 2030 Challenge, which sets incremental targets toward the goal of carbon-neutral operation of all new buildings by 2030. WORKING WITH LOCAL CRAFTSPEOPLE AND ARTISANS Working with craftspeople and artists is an integral part of the process. Architecture may become the vessel that supports specific works of art. Art and architecture are formed together to create an integrated spatial experience. With all our projects, we work side by side with craftspeople to fabricate specific elements so that the outcome of the work relates directly to the architectural expression.
