Victoria's mantra is "Feed Your Soul With Where You Live". With each design project, Victoria's goal is to create unique, inspirational spaces for her clients to live, work, and play in.
Starting her career at the Polaroid Corporation, Victoria acted as Project Director and Chief Photographer for the famous Room-Size Museum Camera – instigating a number of world-wide didactic museum exhibitions. At the same time, she pursued her own art career, as a fine art photographer, and has several pieces in museums and important private art collections.
The business of Victoria Lyon Interiors, LLC was born in Greenwich in 1992, as Victoria completed her design education at the prestigious New York School of Interior Design. Victoria moves easily between stylistic genres, being equally adept at creating bright, edgy, contemporary environments, or clean, tailored, transitional ones. or richly layered traditional ones. Victoria’s design work has evolved from her art, antiques and architecture background. She is particularly skilled at modern contemporary design including the selection of artwork and accessories. When selecting artwork to compliment a space or be its focus, Victoria strives for a seemingly effortless integration.
One of her favorite design project:s was the Alice Ball House, designed by the world famous architect, Philip Johnson and located in New Canaan, CT. My goal was to show how a tired mid-century modern home could be brought back to life and adapted for today’s lifestyle.
I wanted to bring out the soul of the house, and do everything I could to highlight the sculptural quality of the space and the link to it's setting. I looked at the home as I would a blank canvas, carefully placing visually striking vintage and contemporary furniture and art to support yet not overwhelm the architect's work”
"I was careful not to clutter the rooms", she states: “I wanted to bring the outside-in through the gorgeous windows and incorporate the outside with what was happening inside the home. A clean simple interior really showcased its natural landscape.”
